Though when it does, she can be quite the debbie downer, bordering nihilistic.

- Being the first born to her parents on the outskirts of Kirigakure, both of Reiko’s parents had been shinobi until her mother became pregnant. Now, neither of her parents were all that special in terms of ability or look, so it was to be expected that she would be the same upon her birth, but when the time came her parents were quite shocked. As far as they knew, neither one of them had anything passed down through either of their families. While they were confused, Reiko was raised with quite the caring parents as they treated her as they would as if she had looked like either of them upon her birth.
Now, she was indeed raised by loving parents and by the time she reached five years old she would even have a new sibling on the way. As the time came and went, it would turn out to be a sister, and Reiko would do what she could to be the best big sister for the newborn she could. She would help her mother out with her new sister until her sister was just old enough to start walking and would play with her quite often, though with Reiko nearing nine years old, she’d spend as much time out and about doing chores, errands to help her parents, or exploring and playing about as she did spending time with her sister. There was one day where she had stumbled upon her father training and she was pretty much enamored from that point. She’d sneak off on occasion to try and train by herself after helping out around her house and spending time with her sister.
It wouldn’t last long as her parents quickly found out, though it wasn’t as if they were mad at her for doing so. In fact, they let her do so and helped her from time to time. By the time Reiko was just shy of thirteen and her younger sister had just turned eight, it was nearing the time that she would be entering the academy to become a shinobi. The days drew closer and now just a couple of months prior was a day like any other. Everything went by as usual in the Rakujo household, when evening came around, everyone finished their routines and went to bed. A few hours after the house went to bed, the moon was full, several bandits had entered with the intent to rob, but with one of them knocking something over. Reiko’s parents awoke, rushed to see what happened and from there a short fight ensued that quickly ended up with the girls’ father being killed and their mother subdued, though not without waking Reiko and her sister.
The two girls would hear a splatter in the other room before a couple of men muttering between themselves as Reiko moved to be next to her sister and even staying between her sister and the doorway as a figure approached the doorway upon hearing sobbing noises. A second figure approached as one man entered the room with a sword drawn and with blood spattered on him. Reiko’s face was stained with tears and staying between the man and her own sister, he approached while raising the weapon and the intent to kill them as well. That plan hadn’t really gone how the man anticipated as Reiko moved to shove him back to get him away from her sister.
Unfortunately for Reiko, she was either too slow or too weak but she heard her younger sister cry out as the man grabbed Reiko from her attempt to shove him and being pushed back herself, landing on her sister. Her sister was injured and Reiko’s heart just dropped. The man went to strike both of them again as things went dark. Between the fear of what was going on and the guilt of her action causing her younger sister to be injured.
Upon waking up… who knows how long, the first thing she saw was something she wishes she could forget. Her sister lay still, covered in wounds. The house itself didn’t fare much better, though it was mostly the room she was in, almost completely ruined and the bodies of two men were in there as well, just like her sisters’, covered in wounds.
That night onward for the next few years were a blur, mourning her family, attempting to go through the academy, failing a few times, but finally becoming a Genin though it’s not like she finally became one or anything with how much time she spent with the academy after the incident.
