 | The workshop was set up with several training dummies used for holding potential armor. Off to the side, an anvil and several hammers were set up. Working with hot fires was out of the question, for now, as she could be seen smashing small ingots of steel into long and thin sheets of metal. A project of a grand scale was undertaken as engrams of the armor she wished to make were hung up all over the workshop. The main one she was using had specific measurements for each piece of the armor she was working on. Stacked up next to the anvil were thin sheets, already cut and measured, of Senju wood. An interesting material that was only found in Konohagakure. She spent many hours hammering the steel into small sheets, using handsaws to cut the sheets into the dimensions required. A pile of steel sheets began to pile up before she began to paint the thin sheets of Senju wood. This was already turning out to be a masterpiece! The color she would paint these sheets of wood would be the same red that she would normally wear. After painting all of the pieces, she turned on the television and started to lace the sheets of metal in between two sheets of Senju wood, binding them together with polymer rope. | All of the sheets were done and reinforced. All that was left to do was put the armor together. Using more Polymer rope, she started to bind the sheets together in a layered manner, in the manner of Lamellar armor. She created the chestplate, pauldrons, and faulds. As each piece was put together, the hardest part was to now bind all three parts into a cohesive set of armor. Before that could be done, however, she had to dye the remaining length of polymer rope the same deep red she used for the rest of the armor. This length of rope would also be bound for tinsel strength and for form. Afterwards, she stitched the 3 parts together and did some last minute flourishes before placing her hands upon her hips and nodded, pleased with the piece of armor she made. Description: Unlike Airi's other, more fashionable clothing that she had started to make, new and protective armor is something that she needed to invest a bit of time into making. Using steel plates, she would lace them in between sheets of Senju wood. The steel plates and senju wood sandwiches would be held together by polymer rope. The most time consuming part of creating this would be weaving the small sheefs of steel between the Senju woods and stringing all of it together into a lamellar plating. Airi would make the breastplate which covers the wearer's torso and back. This will also come with pauldrons, created in a very similar fashion but in a different shape to fit over the shoulders, all held together by polymer rope. Probably her most intricate build yet that will not make it to her winter catalogue. This armor increases the wearer's CON by +

| Now that the armor was done, she needed to make an accompanying hat. She had no desire to make a kabuto, but the idea of a Senju wood sakkat came to mind. She dyed more sheets red and used the rest of the rope she had to bind the sheets of wood together. After the wood was put together, she took some silk, dyed that red and hung it from the Sakkat. | Hanging upon the dummy with the silk portion draped over the armor, she nodded her head and crossed her arms. She took the time to stitch her maker's mark upon the silk, letting the hat hang over the armor. She took the time to add a few more frills to it and called this work done. | Now was the time she had to move towards the anvil. With her hammer in hand, she had to cold forge these gauntlets. Every layer had pieces cut out exactly to specification, but she needed to just hammer it into shape. Using the horn and rounded edge of the anvil, she used it to dome off any pieces that she needed. She was going to make this thing three times, making three sets, so she had to get this done and get it done right. | A smaller, jeweler's hammer was used to hammer out the remaining kinks in the armor and a polishing rag was taken to the titanium, brushing it up to get a nice sheen and gloss upon the silverish metal. She continued to buff it, spitting upon the metal and continued to polish it to a mirror shine. After the gauntlet was spit-shined to perfection, she rebrandished the jeweler's hammer and a razor sharp pick and started to etch in her maker's mark. This required a rather careful eye, causing her to activate her Byakugan for added detail. The small grooves and flourishes were hammered in before she blew out all of the metal shavings and gently wiped the metal shavings off of the gauntlet. Perfection! She placed the duo of gauntlets on the table. "One pair of gauntlets down, two pair of gauntlets to go," she commented. She approached the television and turned the channel to something that would be treated as background noise before moving back to the anvil to prepare herself for the second pair. | Putting down her smaller, finer tools, she went back to pick up the 2 pound hammer and looked back towards the metal and the anvil. She started to grimace as her hands began to grow calloused and blistered from the heavy use of the hammer. A little whimper, wanting an actual forge to start building all of this, would make her life much simpler. Who would craft this without a forge? The answer to that question was Airi Ohara. | She began to hammer this one out, as this was the third pair of gauntlets she is creating. The same build with the same design, for the exact same reason. She started to get more and more efficient at building these specific gauntlets. They were easy, just requiring her to smash a hammer against these metals until she could get a hold of a forge. Cold Forging was miserable and her hands started to callous and bleed from constantly swinging the hammer to reinforce the metal and to smash it into shape. She formed and rounded each layered sheet of metal, rounding it off using the horn on her anvil. After all of the pieces were formed, she took a punch and started to punch holes into the metal to prepare it for rivets. After the holes were made, she started to rivet the whole thing together. | Aaaaaand done! She put the last hammer stroke on the titanium layered gauntlets. She looked at them and, for this one, she decided to skip over the polishing portion as these would simply enter the flame. She didn't need to make it look pretty as it was just for practice. She had finished all of her crafts and let out a little groan, wiping her brow with her hands. She took a quick break, watching a bit of television, laughing at some goofy sitcom that came on the television before getting back to work. While she created and crafted everything, it was about time for her to return some materials to herself. The hat and armor now hung on the training dummy while she walked over and fired up the smelting furnace. A bit overkill for titanium, but it was good enough for what she needed. She brought the furnace to a roaring flame, using thick leather gloves and metal tongs to manipulate the crucible, letting it sit in the furnace it it got red hot. Once it got red-hot, she threw in a single gauntlet and let it melt down back into pure platinum before pouring out the molten metal back into an ingot cast, letting it cool down and harden back into a platinum ingot. She did this for all six gauntlets, now having 6 full ingots -- rather large ones at that -- and just sat there and watch them cool, shutting off the furnace and stretched, scratching the side of her body for a moment with a gigantic yawn. Once everything had cool down, it was definitely time for bed. Crafted 3/3 Titanium layered gauntlets back into 6 units of Titanium Melting down 6 units of titanium with Crucible and Smelting Furnace All crafts are done! 5/5 B Ranks created -- Ascending to being able to craft A Ranks. | |||
