Princess Without A Prince (Open)

During the War in Heaven, Kitsuki had saved countless lives. She had battled against the forces of darkness and won. She had fought in the streets and in the skies to protect so many souls. Yet as strong as she was, she could not be everywhere at once. Kitsuki had longed to secure Okane's safety from the moment she arrived at the city. But she knew that it would not be fair to chart such a course. Okane was the Founder and Administrator of the Heavenly Emporium. He was  probably the safest person present. The man's personal guard was second to none and considering his importance, Kit figured that they'd protect him at the expense of the civilian population. I mean they've enforced the peace of the Emporium for years without incident. If they are strong enough to do that then there is no way in hell they would allow Okane to be hurt. She thought wrong.

After the dust had settled and the Indaiana Kujira was defeated, Kitsuki set to the task of seeking Okane's whereabouts. The Iron Prince had not been seen nor heard from in the aftermath of the battle. She had been expecting a glorious reappearance and perhaps a gallant victory speech, but nothing of the sort materialized. Instead, she was met with confusion and panic. Most of the Emporium's guard was dead and those that survived could not confirm his safety. Eventually, news broke that the Stag Tower had been raided during the early hours of the attack. All of Okane's personal bodyguards had been slaughtered and the Iron Prince himself was now presumed to have been captured or worse. If the world was fortunate, he was now a prisoner of the Enlightened Society of Rebirth and Reordering. If it was not, then he was now just another casualty of war. When Kitsuki heard the reports, she zoomed over to the Stag Tower flying with the intensity of one of his aircrafts. Kitsuki burst through a window and into the room where Okane had been taken. The glass of the window shattered and was scattered onto the floor only for the debris to retrace its steps and re-solidify.

Zizz was hovering near Kit's shoulder and looking for clues. Kit knew that the Society had taken Okane. They were the ones behind this attack and as part of it, they had stolen her Prince. Okane and his Company were a significant boon to the Shinobi Alliance. He had supplied so much equipment to all the governments of the world that he was considered to be a continental quartermaster. Each invention was more wondrous than the last and so it was not a surprise that they opted to remove him from the chessboard altogether. What was surprising was how little the Alliance had done to protect him. Kitsuki felt wracked with guilt at the thought of not being there to defend him. She had been told that SHIRA investigators believed a Yuki to be behind the kidnapping given all the ice that had been left behind. There had been a major battle on the lower levels and it was clear that whoever did this was of S-Class skill. However once the kidnapper got to Okane's suite, there was little evidence of a struggle save for a busted door and a few broken bottles of alcohol.

He went quietly...he knew he was no match for them. Those brutes! Kitsuki screamed in her head. The frustration was overwhelming and she struck a wall with all of her might. A hole was punched through the structure and the entire building shook. She had to control her emotions, but she couldn't. The tears were flowing now and she could barely see. There was so much she had wanted to do and say. She wanted to play a concert for him, she wanted to hear him laugh and see him smile. She wanted to confess her feelings towards him and for him to take her into her arms. None of that would happen now. They had taken advantage of Okane's gentle nature. He had chosen the life of a creator, but was now suffering the fate of a warrior. Its not fair... Kit thought as tears dropped to the ice cold floor. Zizz settled on her host's shoulder and did her best to comfort the Princess.

Kaida had seen Kit traveling quite fast toward a location in the emporium, she smiled as she thought maybe she could have fun defeating someone. As Kaida got closer she saw her leap through the window as she would herself make her way inside. It was clear Kaida was suffering, as she thought of what to say she was unsure what had happened.

"I am unsure what has happened here Kit but if you need my help just let me know."

She began to look around clearly people were killed, the scrapes on the ground and wall, and signs of ice. There was no way a Yuki would have left this evidence behind, someone was trying to frame her clan. She was unsure who did this but she didn't know any Yuki that would be foolish enough to use ice and not simply turn it to water afterward.

Kitsuki heard a voice from behind her and turned around to see Kaida. She knew someone had followed her in but she hadn't reacted. Maybe a small part of her hoped that it was an enemy. A foe that she could take her righteous fury out on. When she saw that it was Ken's daughter, she quickly wiped her eyes. She had no intention nor desire to appear weak to someone whose intentions she could not yet surmise. Kaida had professed to be a woman of justice and from the things that Kit was hearing about her involvement in the Indaina Kujira fight, that might be true but she could never get to soft in front of a stranger. She stiffened up and nodded.

"Thanks. You can start by telling me if there's any Yuki capable of doing something like this. Any rogues or particularly well-known members of your clan with an axe to grind against Okane?"

She did her best to sound neutral and not emotionally invested in the outcome of the investigation. She was failing hard. Zizz tapped her shoulder a few times to reassure her but she was mostly analyzing the newcomer. The naked Angel was currently perched on Kit's shoulder with a grim expression on her tiny face.
