    Bandit Country Empty Bandit Country

Post by Satoru Thu Sep 30, 2021 3:02 pm

    Mission Name: Bandits Are Stupid
    Mission Rank: B
Theater of War: b]Relevant Plot NPCs[/b]
    Mission Goal: Eliminate the bandits
Description: Bandits are stupid, you can tell because of this wonderful example. See, a bandit chief has taken his men and started to waylay travelers trying to get to the safety of the Emporium. You know, that place where every nation in the war is doing everything they can to keep it neutral? This isn't about to end well for them.
    Payment: 25,000
Maximum Number of Participants: Maximum of 4

“Bandits.” he muttered under his breath as he read the mission briefing. “Haven’t they got anything better to do?” he mumbled, the group of bandits surrounding him arching their brows at the Uzumakis rhetoric. It was an only morning, the Uzumaki found himself at the head of a small carriage with his Yuki team mate enroute to the Heavenly Emporium with the intent of baiting out the group of bandits that had been camping a route to the safety of the Emporium.

His attire was concealed with a grey cloak, and as luck would have it, the bandits didn’t even think twice about stopping such a suspiciously pristine night carriage. Reaching into his cloak triggered a bit of disarray among the bandits, the lot of them quickly arming themselves with swords, knives and bottles only to be left somewhat stunned by the sight of flute being retrieved by the Uzumaki front man.

“You got your ear plugs on?” he muttered to his Yuki team mate as he pressed the flute against his mouth. The instant his team mate signalled a form of confirmation, the Uzumaki would begin playing the flute, its addictive and rhythmic tone binding the surrounding bandits through the art form of Genjutsu. All of the bandits would find themselves overwhelmed by a sense of heavy ropes tying them to the ground which in turn prevented them from moving. The Uzumaki could no longer talk as he had to play to flute for the effects to remain, however he was sure that at this stage in their relationship that his team mate knew what to do next!

The ride had been uneventful; he didn’t even need much of a change of clothing to pretend to be a merchant, with the exception of the long hooded cape that he had to wear to pretend to be a merchant. The bitter cold of the evening was nothing to him if refreshing, he almost felt cold. Almost. When he started noticing movements at the periphery of his vision, he also noticed the Uzumaki had been talking. The Yuki would nod along, ashamed to admit he had put his plugs in earlier just in case they were ambushed and the Uzumaki forced to play his flute at the drop of a hat. Yet, as far as ambushes went, this one was quite amateurish. No tree blocking the path, no maiden in distress. They just pulled bows, and two sneaky bastards approached the horses to halt them and threaten them with swords.

Time to get to work, he guessed. Just before he got up, the Uzumaki spoke to him and drew his flute. “WHAT?”, he exclaimed, as he couldn’t hear him, but when he put the flute to his lips, he knew there was not much time left.

Snake, Ram, Boar, Bird, and a clap of his hands as if to go along with the harrowing tune of the flute, wind surrounded the both of the Yuki, pulling back his cloak and causing his hair to violently snap at the night sky. In a skip off the carriage, he landed on the first man’s face, breaking his nose and orbital bones on impact, and a jump onto the nearest man to a gut punch so powerful, internal bleeding might follow soon. In a blink of an eye, one by one, the Yuki dished out pain and regret onto each one of the bandits that surrounded the carriage, his chakra slowly draining, but the gratuitous violence worth it. Inside his skull, it cackled, as if a grim version of the Uzumaki’s usual cackles of joy.

Finishing with the second man holding the horses, a knee strike to the base of the spine that nearly folded the man inside his own clothes, the grounds were now carrying the screams of pain and sorrow of a bunch of bandits, none of which reached Noboru’s ears. His breath labored, he looked up to the Uzumaki, waving his arm to allow him to recognize it was time to put the flute away, and start piling the beaten thugs onto the carriage, destination, and prison.

Almost like clockwork, his team mate dispatched the enemies effortlessly. For a member of the trading branch he was certainly skilled in combat but the way in which he effortlessly dispatched every enemy would even make the gods of war envy of his talent. Flashing a smile while playing his flute, the Uzumaki couldn’t help but be overwhelmed with a sense of excitement, it was as if he was watching a spectacle unfold before his own eyes.

The screams and cries of the bandits sent shivers up Satorus spine, he restrained a laugh and couldn’t help but wonder how such pitiful bandits could deserve a B rank rating on the mission briefing. Briefly shaking his head in disbelief he continued to observe while playing his flute. The sounds of bones crunching and cracking throughout the series of punches and kicks delivered by his team mate made for an interest sight.

Naturally, one of the horses was spooked by the sudden flurry of screams but it quickly calmed as the sounds echoed into the surroundings. With the flash of an arm, the Uzumaki stopped playing his melody. “Wow… that was awesome.” he remarked as he hopped off the carriage towards a nearby bandit. The man struggled to crawl, his face in absolute bits because of Noborus kick.

“Guess it’s time to bag an’ tag them?” he flashed a toothy grin grabbing one of the fellas. He bound his wrists with rope before tossing him onto the back of the empty carriage. The Uzumaki continued with the procedure for the remainder of the mostly incapacitated foes before hopping back on the carriage and in the direction of the Emporium.

Upon arrival, the duo unloaded the prisoners, submitted their mission briefing and parted ways after another successful mission!

He leaned on the horse for support for a moment while he caught his breath, the technique dispelled while the horse whinned as if he was starting to get spooked by the pain surrounding it. “Shhh, there there, buddy, it’s all over now.” He patted and petted the horse’s hair, the bristles soft and hard at the same time against his palm while taking off his earbuds. He smiled at his friend. “Thanks. I practice a lot in my own head.” He went around and got a few bundles of rope, which he would start binding around the wrists and legs of the men whose bodies and spirits he just broke. “Tag ‘em? Heh. Just call them John Does. The System can tag them later”, he called out to the Uzumaki.

One, two, three, the bodies of the disgruntled thieves were piled on the back of the decoy empty caravan. How ironic, they ambushed their own prison escort. With the heavy lifting done, the Yuki and Uzumaki finally sat in the carriage. “Play us off, music man.”

Once at the prison, the duo would hand over the criminals one by one to a series of guards and nurses who attended to the severely wounded. The nurses seemed to be shocked at the violence perpetrated on common men, but the guards took a sadistic joy of the beating applied. “Comes with the territory”, he thought to himself. Once they got paid, it was time to call it a night, and the duo went their separate ways.
