Stocking Up

Entering the armory, Chigetsu had a lot on his mind. For as long as Kirigakure had an armory like this he had never bothered to take advantage of it, even if he surely could. The armory was stocked by a shop owned by an associate of his mother, after all. Even before he had been promoted to Jonin he likely could have gotten access to it and taken whatever he needed, but for whatever reason he decided not to. But now his mother was gone, and Kirigakure was at war. Things had changed, even before his promotion. He had to worry now about potentially being sent out to die in the trenches for the sake of Kirigakure no Sato, or having to defend his village from an assault by Kumogakure or something along those lines, or who knew what else. It was why he had sent a letter to Okane asking for assistance in reinforcing the sword he had just acquired, and why he was here now, and why he was training those techniques he had just received upon being promoted to Jonin. Kirisame, one of Kirigakure’s most famous techniques, included. For some reason Hana had felt him worthy of receiving it, and he didn’t plan on letting her down by not training it. As he walked to the armory his chakra would flair with the technique, just testing it out in preparation of theoretically using it in the future. Needless to say, Chigetsu had never thought ‘dying in a war’ would end up being the way he went, especially since this shinobi business wasn’t something he had gone into for any reason other than to make some allowance, but here he was. It was strange how things changed, and how quickly you found yourself a different person than you had been before.
