    Mission Name: Cartographer
    Mission Type: Scouting
    Mission Rank: C
Mission Goal: Explore the uncharted territory of Kumogakure’s lands
Description: Not all of Kumogakure has been charted as of yet. Help map notable areas, outposts, and landmarks. Don’t engage in combat unless absolutely necessary, but make note of any potential dangers such as bandit outposts, animal packs, etc.
    Payment: 15,000
Requirements: At least two Genin, Chuunin+, Genin with Sensei

Orihime’s artistic skill was adequate, no doubt, she can draw a basic lay out of a map—she believed anyone could— though, if she was to draw anything else beyond that she’d have to decline. Luckily, this simple mission requires nothing more, nothing less.
Back in Tagamahara, the walls in her chamber room were filled with drawn on pictures of mountains, caricatures of people and dried paint that had dulled out its color over the years. Other than throwing knives at the walls, she had to keep herself busy after slaving in the farms. Eventually, she had stopped painting and drawing after her grandfather confiscated her materials. She remembered the memory like it was yesterday, a man who was once twice her size had taken away every single joy she had had. She shook her head to jerk the thought away. Whatever memories Takagamahara held, it was the past, that was Oboshi Orihime, a pitiful girl who could never stand up for herself.

The body flicker technique had always increased Orihime’s speed tenfold; dashing way above the roofs of buildings and tall trees of the forests in an unbreaking straight line, although she had always needed to give herself [her stamina] a bit of breather afterwards. She knew she needed to work on it.

They arrive at their destination. She audibly exhaled out from her mouth after she had halted, she tensed her hands to her knees and let single droplet of sweat trickle down from her forehead. Panting. They had come a long way since the Kumogakure gates. She turned her head to see Kyousuke had also arrived. Maybe later than she was; maybe earlier than she was. She wasn’t entirely sure. She stood several paces behind him so he wouldn’t see her and her exhausted compsure. She closed her eyes  for a brief moment to control her breathing and when she opened her eyes to see where they were, suddenly she was unable to breath. The view had knocked the wind out of her. “Wow.” She muttered to herself.

They were standing near the top of one peak. Across from them —who knew how far?— an even taller mountain reared into the sky, its jagged tip only a silhouette that was now nimbused by the sun, which was beginning to decline. The sunset glistened Kyousuke’s face golden, Orihime had noticed, as he stood like a lone wolf on top of a cliff in the night of a full moon somehow made the view slightly more interesting.
She had thought maybe for once, she'd be able to enjoy taking on a mission.
Unfortunately for Orihime, their mission lies in the abandoned caverns of the mountains where the sun was directing,

The two sped their way deep into the wilderness of Kaminari no Kuni. While Orihime had kept great effort in maintaining her speed— even using the occasional body flicker technique to do so— the Sasaki in contrast kept a light pace, letting the other lead the way. Behind her he easily maintained a comfortable distance. As far as speed had gone Kyousuke was the faster of the two by a great margin which allowed him to keep up easily even when she had used her chakra to boost her speed. Eventually, after hours of travel they would come to a halt. They had arrived at their destination. Far from civilization, about a day's worth of travel. Already the sun that had once stood so proudly above the sky had come to near its rest. For a moment he took in the view, staring idly at the sky by the edge of the mountain, eyes looking beyond the horizon. And then… darkness.

Night was beginning to set in just as they had arrived at their intended destination, just above the caverns— the first location that the two were to map out. Though the Sasaki boy was more than eager to begin the descent into the caves, he couldn't help but notice his partner's rapid breathes behind him. Now turned around to face her, he watched the lady for a moment and then turned his golden eyes to the ever darkening sky. He contemplated for awhile, thinking of their next actions. He weighed the risk of exploring the caverns both at night when the caves were cold and pitch black. Much more, they were tired from the journey, Orihime more so than he. It was a no brainer. Any moment a battle could have broken out within the caves. They were exploring uncharted territories after all. For all they knew they could have wandered into hostile territory.

Mind now set, he approached the lady, closing the distance between them with several steps. "We should rest here for the night, Orihime. Camp out and start exploring the caverns at first light.." He said firmly, eyes now scanning the area. The land where they currently stood was a decent plot of land, flat with little to no flora to hide snakes or other lethal insects. Despite that, they were a good distance away from the forests, but it was no distance he couldn't close quickly with his speed.

Unstrapping a pouch from his coat, the Sasaki pulled out a white scroll, laying and spreading it open on the floor. Revealed inside was a basic placement seal, circled out and centered with the kanji for 'bed'. With a single hand sign from the boy, the seal would burst open releasing white clouds. Once it had dissipated a single black sleeping bag would lay above the scroll. The trick was something he had learned from the few weeks spent among the shinobi of Kumogakure. With his sleeping bag placed for the night all that was left was to gather some dry wood and hunt something to eat. While he had some emergency dried food on him in another scroll, that was best left as emergency rations, nothing he wanted to touch until there was no other choice.

His eyes turned back to Orihime as he rose from the ground, finished fixing his bed for the night, scroll neatly rolled and tucked back into his side pouch. "Are you hungry?" He asked, pausing to wait for her response, eyes now drifting to the direction of the forest. "I'll go hunt us something to eat for the night and gather wood for a fire. You should get your sleeping bag ready… maybe map out the area we're in while there's still some light."

“We should rest here for the night, Orihime.” The golden-eyed man approached her and advised her solemnly.
She rose herself up, her orientation had looked less exhausted than moments ago. The chill of the air went through her, her hands went to her elbows and cupped them, her arms crossed over her bosom. It wasn’t exactly her plan to camp, she didn’t expect that it would turn dark when they would have arrived. She looked around; a few leaves were dancing through the air to wherever the wind took them; the clouds floated in a single motion, they glowed red over the orange sky; the grass they stood almost looked unworn. Almost. Several meters away from where they stood, there was a trail of small patches of naked dirt that vanished until the dark side of the forest. It was as if the shadows of the trees were swallowing the path gradually, slowly. She turned away to face Sasaki once again. Orihime looked rather rapt and dreamy studying the atmosphere, she let a few heartbeats pass before she made a reply to the Sasaki.
I guess so.” She quietly agreed with a nod.
Already the Sasaki had his sleeping bag laid down which quickly made Orihime cocked her brows. She, herself, didn’t have one prepared. It shouldn’t have mattered. She could either fall asleep with her back leaning against the bark of a tree or she didn’t have to sleep at all. She was perfectly fine to begin the mission after dusk but if the boy suggested it, maybe he needed the rest, she thought. Orihime was only human and although her ambition drives her father than what her body could do for her, she had used one-fifth of her chakra. Not much to some but it was crucial to Orihime to reserve her strength and only use it in poignant times.
“Are you hungry?” He asked, pausing to wait for her response, eyes now drifting to the direction of the forest. Her eyes briefly shifted to where he looked to him. “I’m all right.
"I'll go hunt us something to eat for the night and gather wood for a fire. You should get your sleeping bag ready… maybe map out the area we're in while there's still some light."
Already the Sasaki had offered so much.
No. I haven’t brought a sleeping bag.” She accidentally cut his words. Let an awkward silence seep in before she decided to break it with her hand cupped her elbows tighter. “We can begin the whole work at dawn. Until then, yes, let’s rest.” Her head looked away from him. She was never good at looking someone in the eye. But still, she tries.
Her eyes met his, “Let me gather wood and start the fire.” She suggested almost demandingly in an adamant tone as if making it clear to him that although he had more experience wouldn’t overshadow her own. Thank you but I can help us too.

She followed him into the edge of the forests. They weren’t father enough to easily search the home of a rabbit or a bird’s nest for the Sasaki. They would have to go deeper, however for the Chinoike, she had collected a hefty amount of driftwood, with her arms out as she carried them. The wood was somewhat heavy but she was still able to carry them nonetheless, she was unsure if she could carry more. The more, the merrier, she supposed. The more, the warmer the long bleak night would be.
Trailing behind the Sasaki, she spotted another driftwood though this one was larger, looked heavier than the rest she held. “Sasaki.” She called out, she swore there was an echo when she did which had made a bird fly away from a skinny tree branch.
“Do you think you could lend me a hand and place that driftwood on top here?” She pointed with her toes to the large wood that lay down.
Odd how there’s perfectly fine firewood lying about, someone was here. This secluded place is perfect for someone to camp.

The Sasaki's golden eyes pulled back from the green edges of the forest now returning to meet the pair of crimsons that belonged to the young lady stood before him. Her words were ones that caught him off guard, causing him to pause for a brief moment as he gathered his thoughts. "In that case, you can use my sleeping bag. I'll stay up and take guard for the night." He stated with just the same commanding tone she had used, yet he was much more experienced using it. "Follow me." He said ordering once more. Without skipping a beat the Sasaki turned towards the direction of the forest and moved at a steady pace before she could say any words of declination towards his earlier offer.

Into the woods, the young swordsman kept his pace steady, only pausing for brief moments whenever Orihime would find pieces of necessary firewood. Eventually her hands had become full with more than ample amounts that  they would need for the entire trip. Kyousuke halted, head turning back to face the burdened lady. Just as she had requested he bent down to pick up the piece of wood, placed it on the pile within her arms, and took half of it from her arms into his. "Just Kyousuke is fine, Orihime." He said, eyes meeting hers. For a brief moment their faces were just inches apart, but immediately the Sasaki turned back to face forward. Daylight was burning especially fast in the rural part of Kaminari no Kuni. Already visibility had lowered immensely, and though it was not yet pitch black it was getting increasingly difficult to see anything.

Time was beginning to be of the essence. The two— by now— were fairly deep within the forest. The darker it was the more dangerous the trek back to the camp… perhaps not to him, but it was certainly true for his partner. "Stay close to me." He ordered a cautionary warning. Abruptly the young swordsman stopped in place closing his eyes. The pool of energy within him activated, his chakra spreading out until it was far out of to cover a great portion of the forest. With his sudden stop amidst the dimly lit forest, he felt a light nudge behind him, it's feeling increasingly multiplied by the sensitivity of his skin granted by his Matagi Shingan. It took a second or two, but eventually he was able to figure out just what it was that hit him. It was Orihime… or more specifically Orihime's body that had bumped into him. Suddenly he had grown increasingly aware of the lady within his sensory range. Aware enough that he began to feel each crevice of her body completely without meaning to.

His face shot with the color red. Immediately he turned forward, away from the lady. "I… I'm sorry!" He spat out, a clear fluster in his voice. He shook his head violently. Snapping himself from what had just occurred and placing his attention directed everywhere else but her body. With a sense of urgency to immediately shut down his kekkei genkai mixed with focus he began to feel the rustlings of a rabbit pair reproducing a good distance away. With not a single second wasted, Kyousuke dropped the bunch of sticks within his arms— picking them back up would be easy enough after. He lowered his stance, right immediately moving to his weapon pouch. Another half second later and an equal pair of two kunai shot past the air, hitting both busy rabbits right between the eyes and into a tree.

Slowly he eased up, turning his head halfway towards Orihime and looking at her with the corner of his eyes. "Sorry." He repeated, this time for the sudden burst of movement that he guessed had startled her.

After gathering back the sticks within his arms, Kyousuke took the spoils of their hunt, laying the rabbit bodies on top of the branches within his arms. "You know the way back? If so could you lead us?" He asked, turning to his partner. The way back was dark and he wondered whether Orihime would be able to see well enough to guide them, still even now he struggled with his Matagi Shingan. Without an objective to distract him like hunting food, he began to sense what he had sensed before… there was no way he was going to keep his sensory field up.

The Sasaki lended Orihime a helping hand by taking half of the driftwood she carried with ease.
“Just Kyousuke is fine, Orihime.” He said— Would it be? —She wasn’t accustomed to calling people by their first names, she had thought it would have been disrespectful to do so, at least that was what she was taught back in Takamagahara. And Takamagahara was the past, she had to remind herself. Kyousuke would be just fine.

The sky along with the shadows of the forest  grew darker and ominous with each passing minute. “Stay close to me.” He advised her. She looked above them. The sky wasn’t as clear as earlier ago or at least it seemed as if it wasn’t, she tried to find stars to maybe bring some light, to reassure some clarity, in her mind amidst the darkness that circles them though she had only managed to see a few. She hasn’t ventured out into the wilderness in the dark, not since she had run away from Takamagahara. The leafless sharp-looking branches of the tall trees surrounding them had almost resembled long skinny arms with claws of a monster or overgrown nails of a witch with the wind pushing it downward looked as if they had wanted to grab you from the ground. They stood in darkness for a moment. Suddenly the forest seemed full of a thousand stealthy sounds; rustling and groans and the sly sniff of wind under the eaves. She glanced at the monster’s arms reaching out to her, her skin crawled into goose flesh. The short hairs in her body prickled and tried to stand erect. Stay close to me. She fully digested the warning. And took it. Instinctively her arm urgently reached to grab Kyousuke’s. But her mind busied on trying not to let the driftwood fall from her loose grip. So, her body only then followed after. Grazing her body against the swordsman as she stumbled. Suddenly, she grew stiff but so did Kyousuke when she tightened her grip.

She quickly raised herself back. A second of silence until he broke it — “I’m sorry!” he bursted out which sounded as if it underlies anger or obvious sarcasm to Orihime although Kyousuke hadn’t meant to. “No. I’m sorry.” She tried to speak up—
A feeling of a jolt occured in between them, the sound of an arrow used, dangling, like a cord struck on an string-based instrument echoed inches away from where they stood. Kyousuke had suddenly punctured rabbits through his throwing weapons without Orihime knowing, she stumbled as she attempted to back away, dropping a log as she did, immediately attempting to fix her orientation with no visible succession. A few heartbeats passed. Orihime could sniff the potent aroma of fresh blood coming from the deep wounds of the pair of rabbits, involuntarily making her Kesturyugan activate without being aware of it. “Sorry.” He only managed to say but this time more pleasing to the ears, more considerate to Orihime though she replied with no answer.

Orihime had noticed the night had fully reigned the sky after Kyousuke had hunted the rabbits for their food. Her eyes only saw shadows layered on shadows layered on shadows and the few stars above the sky. Luckily, Kyousuke’s pale complexion stood out even in darkness.

“You know the way back? If so, could you lead us?” — Kyousuke’s voice called out to Orihime just as a raven kawed from above the trees which jolted Orihime making the short hairs in her body prickled once more. A sudden chill to her spin yet her posture stood still and somewhat collected with the logs she held into her arms. She heard him. And to be frank, she hasn’t memorized their steps, she had hoped that if he had suggested to lead the way he would. “Kyousuke,” She tried,
I can’t see anything at all in the dark.” She stated that underlied a gloomy tone. They had to make a fire here then, or at least a torch to guide them back, Orihime figured.
