The moment the gates opened Kye and his partner were on their way into the jungle. He figured it was smarter to make a beeline straight to the middle layer of the training area before spreading out. It would likely be in other team's best interest to run the perimeter of the training area to intercept other teams that either stuck around the entrance zone or didn't go far from it. The deeper the two were the more likely it would be safe to stop and rest. Given the terrain and being fairly careful when treading through the jungle the two would make it to the middle of the training area in about two hours. "Stop here." He said before jumping from a branch in the treeline and towards the ground. He'd land on solid ground a few meters from an active stream. They were in the middle layer of the jungle which was a lot less dense and easier to call home, but for now this location would only serve as a temporary rest stop.
"We should rest here for a bit. It would be unwise to burn ourselves out when our resources are cut so thin." Although he was eager to find a relic and take things easy there was some wisdom to what he was trying to get across. With limited food and restful nights of sleep they would have to rebuild strength where they could and preserve it as much as possible. The stream provided fresh drinking water and maybe some shellfish like crawfish or shrimp if they were lucky. He wasn't particularly hungry and didn't want to bother starting a fire, so water would do. Heading over to the stream he would kneel and cup a few handfuls of water taking a drink. The rain broke through the canopy more than the outer layer but it was still fairly light and tolerable. Although it was chilly outside the humidity and moving made it seem warmer than it actually was.
After a few handfuls of fresh water he'd pat his hands dry against his pant legs to dry them off. Standing up on both feet he'd direct his attention to Kitsuki. "We can make our way back towards the outer layer soon. Some teams should be settled in by now."
