Above the Skies, Beneath the Waterfalls

Light blue were the skies and white its clouds. The sun shimmered brightly, emanating its golden warmth to the land below with an occasional breeze passing by now and then to contrast and create a sensation of comfort for most citizens of Kumogakure no Sato. For Kyousuke, however, the conditions of the weather would be insignificant. Rain or shine nothing would have stopped him from fulfilling his training. Just about a week arrived in Kumogakure no Sato, he had been at work non stop acclimating to his new life as a shinobi, fulfilling missions here and there as was expected of him. Now, however, he had the opportunity to continue his never ending training. Eyes sealed shut the young Sasaki heir was sat with his legs crossed and laid flat on the craggy exterior of the wet mountain rocks. He was clothed with nothing more than drenched black pants, dead center at the eye of the cascading waterfalls. He had been meditating for hours, body completely still despite being constantly barraged by the intense cold of the natural spring water. His mind had been focused to look completely inward, searching for the source of his energy, the core of his chakra. Within him his chakra would expand and contract, completely synced with each breath he took. The deeper his breath, the more his chakra would grow to expand and as he exhaled it would all return to his core. Over and over he would repeat this single essential process, simply exercising his control with chakra through the most basic ways taught by the Sasaki for generations.

Eventually the warm up was over and it was time for something a little bit more advanced. When before he would allow the chakra within him to contract as he exhaled this time he held it in place, exercising his focus and control over his Matagi Shingan. With each new breath the chakra within him began to expand farther and farther until it would exit through the pores of his skin, creating a field that was imperceivable by the naked eye. Slowly he began to feel his surroundings through a deeper level than what he had previously been capable of, each drop of the freezing cold water sending extreme shockwaves of feeling through the now sensitive nerves within his body. For a minute he would hold his chakra outwards, struggling to expand the field of his sensory capabilities. Little by little the synapses within him began to flood his mind with information. The feeling of cold began to snap his focus, but he did not give in, mustering each ounce of strength he had. With no thought of his own the Sasaki’s right arm began to stretch out subconsciously as if reaching for something beyond. Suddenly a jolt of energy shot throughout his body. His eyes awakened with a roar that sent his Matagi Shingan well past the limits of what he had previously been capable of. For a fleeting moment he could feel something more than just his surroundings, but before he could grasp the feeling it quickly disappeared from him. Having passed his limits for but a single second, he had now been forced to exhale and contract his chakra, returning everything to his core.

The Sasaki gasped for oxygen just as soon as he exhaled. Even with the constant stream of water flooding his body he had managed to work up a significant sweat, though it would all be washed away and disappear into the waterfall. He would be slow to recover, but as soon as he had managed to catch his breath his thoughts immediately dwelled on what had just occurred. The feeling that his Matagi Shingan provided for that short moment was unlike anything else he had ever felt before. It was almost something physical, as if he could grab on to his surroundings through his chakra. It made no sense, but he knew what he had felt was a possibility. For a few moments he would allow himself the courtesy of a short break in order to recover what stamina he had expended. Afterwards, he would start over from scratch with a warm up before attempting to recreate the feeling he had managed to muster by expanding his Matagi Shingan. He focused his mind and closed off all senses aside from that which his chakra would provide. Again his right arm would stretch out to the horizon, seemingly attempting to grasp that which was not there. Creating a spark of chakra within his body as what had happened before, he shot his eyes open, forcing the expansion of his Matagi Shingan. Nothing. Whatever he had accomplished momentarily, he would fail to recreate again. Eventually day had turned into night and it had been time to return to his home.
