Midori considered Riku like a member of the family already, and would go to the ends of the earth to make sure she wasn’t taken, was safe, and didn’t feel the need to leave her like her original family. Yea, there was still some issues there, but she was working on getting stronger for the explicit purpose of hunting down her father and getting him to answer for what he had done.
