Stats (1 to Skills)
Unique Abilities:
The robes mask much of Azrael's appearance. It can be inferred that he is average height for his clan, perhaps a bit taller than most humans. His frame is also average. He has normal, toned musculature, which one could sometimes infer from the shape of his body through the robes. He is not bulky, cause he doesn't possess excessive physical power. His face, though few have seen it, is average and he does have hair. The length of it varies by desire and its color is often either white or black. He uses it to sometimes mask the horns.
History:
Azrael is technically a member of the prestigious Otsutsuki Clan. Like most of his clan, he started out as young boy with pale skin and white hair. Throughout his youth, Azrael grew in abilities generally considered separate from the interdimensional world conquering hobbies that the rest of his clan usually got involved with. Instead, he was always a crafty sort of person.
When Azrael grew to an older teenager, he departed from home to his very first planet. It wasn’t much like Earth. There was much less life on that planet, which meant much less resources and much less use as a whole for the clan. While it was unimportant for the clan as a whole, it made an excellent start to a young Otsutsuki. The lifeforms there weren’t particularly powerful, so even a young clansman could manage to get a taste for victory. That way, they’d get stronger and yearn for greater glory, which would benefit the clan.
When he arrived on Yavon, Azrael soon realized why it was that the resident lifeforms weren’t particularly powerful. Their way of life was entirely peaceful. So rather than focus on war and fighting, they bore a dedication to the arts that deeply resonated with Azra’s own developing interests. So instead of setting out to beat them up and conquer them, Azra settled in with them and used the advanced technology of his home dimension to empower the way of life on Yavon. The people soon recognized him as the smartest and most innovative among them, so they named him leader.
By the time representatives of the Otsutsuki came to notate his progress, Azra was the ruler of the entire planet. It was lucky that they didn’t particularly care about the method. Most Otsutsuki used their powerful natural abilities to wipe out and forcefully conquer entire species. Azra had instead done pretty much the opposite. Though he enjoyed his time there and made many friends, it was time for him to depart to the next world. After he’d gone, others from his clan came to export the resources from the Yavon world into their own dimension. It robbed Yavon of much of what it needed to continue to survive. In a short time, the planet and all of its inhabitants starved out.
On the next world, Azrael found much more resistance than the previous one. The people were far from united and as distant from peace as any species could be. Rather than functioning as one huge society, like Yavon, this one had hundreds of different groups all antagonist to each other and only over a small piece of the planet’s overall size. Generally speaking, it was a war-torn planet. With innumerable natural resources and technologically unadvanced lifeforms, this was the perfect target for any Otsutsuki. Any Otsutsuki but Azrael. He had just spent years building up the world of Yavon. He wasn’t very keen on the idea of repeating the process from the start. Add to that the lack of interest in overall advancement present throughout the whole species, and Azra’s desire to repeat his process bottomed out.
Fortunately, Azra had come into his innate powers by then. The Rinnegan had awakened and his path was one of the more direct versions. Rather than engage in tireless battle and win through brute force tactics, Azra simply extracted the souls of his adversaries with one touch of the hand. None of the inhabitants of Karshoth knew how or why he had this power. They simply called it the Touch of Death and nicknamed Azra the Harbinger, Messenger, or Angel of Death. Every group had different variations, but they all meant basically the same thing.
Initially apprehensive to his new title, Azra eventually accepted it. His work had become much easier with people now fearing his presence. His time in using the Human Path had procured him a tremendous store of memories from skilled fighters all throughout Karshoth. He adopted the art of fighting and twisted his innate innovative nature. He began developing chemicals useful in killing, rather than progressing. Before long, he’d become the ruler of Karshoth by strength. At that point, he was able to shift the people’s direction from fighting each other into harvesting the planet’s resources.
By the time his people had come, Azra had most of the planet’s resources ready for extraction. Pleased with his work, others in the Otsutsuki had nominated his dispatch to Earth. It was a planet that should have been an easy farm, but mistakes were made early on and now it was simply a disaster. The lifeforms on the planet were already prone to war. They weren’t as strong as the Karshothians and the resource tally was greater. But then they had been granted chakra. That one thing was probably the greatest advantage that the Otsutsuki had over every other lifeform in nearly every other dimension. Now the humans of Earth had it, which only exacerbated their warring tendencies. This in turn cultivated their talent for chakra, which made them even stronger. Some of them may even be a considerable force against the Otsutsuki.
Apparently, others had been dispatched to the planet in one way or another. The mistakes made early in Earth’s history couldn’t so easily be undone. Azrael accepted the task anyway and left his home for Earth. He wasn’t sure he could even call it a home, anymore. He’d spent so much time on other worlds that he only knew his home as a distant memory. Now that he was heading to Earth, he’d have to be prepared to call it home. It took years to ready the other planets and they had no difficult circumstances surrounding them. This planet could take decades. And that’s if he was even successful.
When he arrived on Earth, Azra immediately fell in with a roaming clan. He happened to appear in the Land of Water just as the villages were starting to form. So he was integrated, with his nameless clan, into Kirigakure. He started to research the nature of this world. He’d been told that it was as war-torn as Karshoth. Yet all he saw was a series of active peace efforts. Forming large congregations was the first step to a unified race.
Over time, he began to see that the tactics he’d adopted on Karshoth would be useless here. The humans labeling themselves shinobi were far above any power that he alone could contend with. Plus, there were other Otsutsuki here. He knew there was this lingering desire in the few people of his clan that were born with the Rinnegan. That desire would see the deaths of six other Otsutsuki in order to complete their Doujutsu. Never before had he heard of more than two present on the same world. Now that so many were being sent here, he found it likely that this bloodline completion project would go into full swing by at least a few.
Because of these factors, Azra settled into Kirigakure as a Genin. He’d shown little of the battle prowess he’d gained on Karshoth. In fact, he saw to it that his combative talents were sealed away. His time on Yavon had developed a talent for sealing techniques and on Karshoth, he perfected them. With the will and power of his Otsutsuki heritage, combined with his sealing talents, he was able to reduce his own power to something expected of a human in his general class.
The hardest choice in all of this was his Doujutsu. Azrael had worked hard to master its powers, but now they were a hazard. Simply having the Rinnegan put him and his task at risk. If another Otsutsuki that had fully mastered the powers of this world and theirs discovered his eye’s presence, they’d surely kill him for it. He resolved to do away with it all and resume his persona from Yavon. He was to be the inventor and innovator. Bringing new technology and advancements to this world would move him along in a more peaceful way than the version of himself from Karshoth. It would avoid most combat and hopefully bring him many new allies.
Azra started off working under a blacksmith in Kirigakure. This was shortly after the village’s founding, when clans barely trusted each other. So the smith he had paired up with was initially apprehensive towards Azra. He didn’t want to teach his secrets only to be murdered and replaced. Eventually, Azra earned Deik’s trust and worked well with him, learning all of the human’s current understandings of craftsmanship. Most importantly, Azra needed to learn what resources were even available on this planet. He couldn’t go trying to create things using alien materials. His identity as inhuman would surely be revealed.
Eventually, Azra departed from Deik’s shop and started out on his own in the smithing business. He ventured from weaponry into armors, using what he’d learned from Karshoth and Yavon through the filter of what Deik knew. What the humans called Fuuinjutsu is very different from his understanding of sealing techniques on the other worlds. The chemicals available for mixture on this planet are also strange. Because Deik was skilled in neither, Azra gained little experience in them. It’s a tough learning curve, but he’s catching up.
What is written above is what is believed about Azrael's history. These are the things pieced together by every being that has ever known him, but nobody knows how much of it is accurate. No living person can attest to his childhood, or even his name. Prior to Karshoth, he was a nobody among the Otsutsuki. Though part of the main family, he'd never made the kind of waves to generate recognition from that level of people. It is well recorded that he went to Yavon. What happened leading up to his departure for that world all the way until he was called back, is entirely unknown to any but the Yavonites. They are now extinct.
After Yavon, Azrael gained mild attention from others within his clan. He had done a good job on that planet. This is why he was sent to Karshoth in the first place. However, none can recall any details about him. Either they weren't paying good enough attention, or something made them forget. When he returned from Karshoth, he'd taken to what they assumed was a new form. He wore robes of black, blotting out his face and disguising his body's form. He announced his name then. As far as anyone can remember, that was always his name. But they can't be sure. Those who knew Azrael well enough to have had knowledge of such a thing were, by then, deceased.
His arrival on Earth is equally mysterious. Some claim he hailed from a foreign clan. Others say he was low level member of a prestigious clan, like the Hozuki or the Yuki. Without seeing his face, nobody can really place him. He is said to have spent time under the blacksmith Deik. It has been confirmed by living people that the two were seen together, often. They all assumed that Deik had simply retired since then and Azra took over for him. Truth be told, nobody has seen Deik at all. By all appearances, he disappeared somewhere.
Personality:
Azrael could best be described as a dutiful person. He started out as a stargazer. Always looking out to the heavens and thinking of the next big thing brought about most of his creative nature. This was nurtured and refined during his time on Yavon, but he never lost sight of his goal there. As he does with all things, he used the experiences he gained from the events around him to better himself. Then, he twists those events in any way he can towards achieving his given task in the smoothest way possible. On Yavon, this was by being the kind inventor. However, he can change his aura and personality on a dime.
Kindness and creativity were rewarded with swift death on Karshoth. As an adaptive person, Azra discerned this early on and was able to fashion a persona most compatible with completing his objective on that planet. So he took his past experiences in inventing and used them to conceive sinister mechanisms for the winning of wars. He gained skill in physical combat using his Human Path abilities.
You could say that he is probably the most well-suited host for the Human Path power. But really, the opposite is true. He was groomed from the start to match the power that his people knew lay dormant within him. With the Human Path, a person gains a lifetime of memories. So the ability to adapt and assimilate those memories would be tremendously useful. That’s especially true for a people that like to go out and integrate with other worlds for their own gain. Though Azra no longer has access to his Rinnegan powers for now, he still maintains his adaptability.
A problem that a lot of people have when changing themselves so much is that they lose sight of who they are. Azra manages to avoid this by latching onto the mission. Whatever task he is set to accomplish is often above him and even the whole world he is on. Doing that gives him this sort of extrasensory perception of his own self. It’s like he’s more than his current persona. He’s actually a whole different person and this person that he is now is just one little piece of himself. He has to believe that he is the sum of everyone he’s ever been, or the personae that he adopts might appear false. To appear false is to fail the mission.
What of this is accurate is up to interpretation. A person who succeeds in worlds as opposite as Yavon and Karshoth must, by principle, be highly adaptive. Thus, he is assumed to have high adaptability. A person who is adaptable and successful must be focused. Without focus, adaptation is lost and deceit is rendered null. Without deceit, nobody could have fit so well the opposite personalities required to harvest both planets. So, he is assumed to have multiple personae with which to fool others. This is what the Otsutsuki away from Earth believe of him.
Those on Earth see him as a simple mystery. He is a crafter and smith. He wears robes and never reveals his appearance. This makes them curious, but he is no famed hero. No human curiosity over him has led to any sort of action. Nobody wishes to know him better. Nobody works to unmask his secret. He seems nice enough and wants to keep to himself. Everyone leaves it at that.

Unique Abilities:
- Spoiler:
With his vast experience on many worlds, Azra has a distinct advantage over other Genin. He gets 150 extra experience for starting. It turns out that this world is way different than the others. He also has to pay that debt back.
Azra can craft one grade higher than his Coordination would normally allow. But it takes twice as long to craft that stuff.
With his strong background in enchanting and sealing, Azrael can reinforce his seals to be stronger. He makes them unnecessarily complex so that anybody trying to study or undo them loses a tier to their intelligence. That's only for when they're messing with his seals. To do this, Azra has to add a rank to the cost of his Fuuinjutsu. So he doesn't do it all that often
Azra can increase his Perception by one tier. When he diverts his focus like this, it makes it harder to control his body, so he loses a tier in Coordination. This costs 5 points to activate.
Since he's pretty skilled in a lot of stuff, Azra is good with his hands and his chakra. He can use one handed seals. But it's harder to do that, so his Coordination loses a tier when he does that.
When he gets low on his reserves, Azra can call upon his otherworldly power to bolster his stamina. That results in a full refund of 50% of his stamina, but it can only be used once when his stamina is 10 points or less. This power pushes his body, so he also suffers double the exhaustion penalty the whole time after the refresh.
The robes mask much of Azrael's appearance. It can be inferred that he is average height for his clan, perhaps a bit taller than most humans. His frame is also average.
