Awaiting Further Instruction

The Twins had made themselves comfortable at the specified lodgings. Toonami hadn't wasted a second scoring some smack and was now lounging on a mattress with a needle in her arm. The blue-haired Twin was of course in a blissful and deep state of being high. Konami however had washed up, eaten a solid meal, and had gone across the street to a nearby bookstore. She was certain that their contact would arrive soon to give them new instructions on what to do. Konami was restless. She wanted an audience with whomever the acting Kage was but she knew she needed to be patient. It wasn't probable that Masuyo would be the sole shotcaller of Konoha and while she was in the woman's good graces she'd need to extend their influence quickly if she was to take advantage of the present circumstances. Rather than step on anyone's toes though she opted to make her and her sister available for other missions. Once they had proven their worth to the nation then maybe they'd be read into the investigation.

Gin's Squad quickly found themselves in Tanzaku Town, the largest town in the Land of Fire just fifty kilometers from Konoha. Fortunately, with the aid of Gin's flight they managed to close the distance in roughly half an hour. Ironically the air was more foul in Tanzaku town than Konoha. Self-preservation was not popular in a town meant for tourist to splurge. The casinos and service did anything to please the customers, and the customers simply did not care or respect the town. Gin was no a fan of frivolities. He did not value simple pleasures and pursue them like a young man. The lights, drugs, and fatty foods were on little interest to Gin, and the rest of the disciplined team.

A pair of black combat sandals cover both feet leaving the toes and heel open securing up to his ankles. He wears a pair of common synthetic black pants personally having the bottoms wrapped in white bandage wrap to prevent it dragging or getting snagged. On right his thigh is a blue rectangular holster secured and backed by white tape. Gin wears a black single utility belt tightly secured to his waist. It holds one blue holster on his right side as well as a beige carry pouch around the back side of the belt. To his left was a short, studded club. His torso is covered by a sleeveless black shirt. Among this he was suited in a set of plated armor. A breastplate, set of arm guards, pauldrons, and faulds dyed red. Over all of this was a thick, black cloak which concealed the majority of what he wore making everything more of a surprise. Covering his face is a simple black mask up to his nose. Gin is a tall, lean male standing at 6'2 and weighing 175 lbs. He has a broad, moderately toned figure. He has a tan skin tone accompanied with rich hazel eyes and medium length brown hair stopping briefly past midway down his neck and shortly past his forehead.

The ANBU wore just about the same, though they donned the basic flak jacket over Gin's personal armor and did not carry a club. In place of that they were armed with Chokuto, which were naturally worn on a baldric across their back. The ANBU also wore their wooden masks to conceal their identity. They moved through the light crowd of folk naturally drawing attention as ANBU were not a common sight unless "shit was going down." They approached the Shangri-La Hotel where their clients were to be waiting. Due to the nature of the government operation upon brief communication with the clerk they revealed the room number and gave them keys to access. The clerk also mentioned the whereabouts of Konami who had just left to busy herself at the bookstore just across the street. Following that lead the squad would follow and naturally find the blonde resting with a hard-cover book in her hands.

"Konami Kereko, we were sent on behalf of Commander Kaede and her request. I have the mission details on me. I will brief you on the way, when you are ready to depart. I am your Captain, Gin Akiyama. To my right is Hidan Nagasaki. To my left is Genzo Himari, and the far left, Rion Uchiha."

Konami looked up from her book to see a squad of ANBU approach. When she realized what that meant, she immediately put it down and faced the speaker. Masuyo had put her in touch with a member of ANBU Black Ops which meant that the mission they'd be undertaking was of the utmost importance and sensitivity. The leader introduced himself and his comrades. Konami nodded and replied in a measured tone.

"I'll be ready momentarily. Give me a chance to rouse my sister and we can be on our way."

She figured that might raise an issue. Toonami hadn't made the best impression on Masuyo and it was unlikely that the Commander would be thrilled about the prospect of having the more careless twin tag along. Konami knew that Toonami was a handful but the truth was that she was every bit as competent as her blonde sister. A bit more reckless but nonetheless equal in every measurable way. They had a deep bond that could never be broken both mentally and physiologically.

Konami rose from her seat and walked out of the bookstore. She headed to her hotel room and found her twin sister on the bed, high as heaven. Konami shook her head at the sight before her and knelt down next to Toonami. The twin was half-naked, wearing only her signature black and mangenta shorts. Every now and again her head and eyes lolled as she teetered between the edge of unconsciousness and pure bliss. Konami began slapping her sister violently. She interlaced her fingers into the woman's skin each time to increase the force of the strikes. Eventually, Konami came to something resembling wakefulness.

"The fuck?! You...stupid...blonde...bitch...I'll kill you" she said barely able to stringer her sentences together.

"If you don't wake up you won't get the chance. Konoha ANBU is taking us on a mission and now that we're in this deep we are in no position to say no" Konami ripped the needle out of her sister's arm and forced her to her feet. She'd sober up inside Konami as the two had learned to ensure that their organ systems did not intertwine in situations such as these. Toonami lazily climbed into her sister's body to enjoy what remained of her high. Konami freshened up and went back downstairs. She crossed the street and rejoined the Captain who probably had serious reservations about taking Toonami with them.

"My sister won't be a problem if that's a concern. Trust me when I say she'll be useful". It was better to get it out there and in the open. Gin would have doubtlessly read some kind of report or dossier on Toonami which made it unlikely that he was keen on taking a drug addict with them.

Konami requested a moment to get herself ready which was expected. Everyone wasn't prepared for conflict in their day-to-day life, and especially not when granted lavish living expenses by Konoha. Gin could admit when he lived the wealthy life he was a bit indulgent. "Very well. We will be waiting for you outside the hotel." As Konami entered the hotel Gin and his squad waited for her outside the glass doors. As Konami entered the elevator and disappeared from sight Gin turned his head towards Hidan. "The mission?" The man nodded, reaching inside his vest and opening one of the scroll pockets to retrieve the B-rank mission drafted by Masuyo.

A few moments of silence between the group and Konami came back down stating Toonami won't be an issue to them, to which Gin cleared his throat to ready his reply. "About that, the messenger really wanted to express Masuyo's appreciation with your help. But this of course come with great responsibility. When you are working with Konoha Shinobi you are expected to be apart of us, as Konoha's reputation is also represented by your actions. Masuyo wanted to expressly state that Toonami's foolishness would not be tolerated. Any misbehavior would be dealt harshly, by me. I don't know Toonami personally, but it's clear Masuyo does. I hope she will be cooperative. That is all I had to relay. Let's get started."

Gin had already read the mission details multiple times. Handing the scroll to Konami to let her read he would also explain to make things faster. Gin would lead with Konami at his side and the three Anbu covering their flank. "They want us to check up on Iwagakure to make sure it's still in check after Satomi's disappearance. Once I establish communication between both villages we will scout the land to make sure there's no trouble in the near future. It's an easy job and pays well." Gin would be ready for feedback until they hit the outskirts of the town just before the forest. He'd stop, reaching into his first with a free hand holding a wood carved amulet. Surging his chakra through the tool a large plume of smoke would go off before the squad as it cleared up.

Standing before the squad was a large falcon standing five meters tall. It would extend its wing down to allow the others to use it as a ramp. "We will be flying to Iwagakure to significantly reduce travel time. I hope you brought something to cover yourself with." The others would board the back of the falcon. Gin would wait for Konami to board before he would follow. At that point the falcon would depart, first by flapping its wings a few times to channel air beneath its wings before taking off, admittedly with a little effort given its load. Nonetheless, once it was in the air the bird spread its wings out and let the air currents do its work in soaring towards the west where their problems lied.

Konami nodded solemnly at Gin's words. She'd need to keep her younger sister in check if they were to survive this ordeal. Checking up on Iwagakure might be an un-eventful affair but if other nations had gotten wind of Satomi's disappearance then they might be so bold as to attack the Fire Country's new holdings. Konami produced a green cloak and hood from her pack and then climbed aboard Gin's summon.
