    Lakeside Cottage Empty Lakeside Cottage

Post by Rin Matoi Mon Oct 15, 2018 3:36 am

It was a weekend, something Masuyo never chose to skip often arguing the importance of mental as well as physical health having two or three days off had. And sure enough there was some weight to what she said. Although Masuyo enjoyed her job and her allies, there was always the importance of having a few days with little responsibility of your shoulders. In times of emergency or when threats loomed the countryside, Masuyo opted to stay within village walls in the section eight housing provided by her village. Any other case, however, Masuyo spent her time in her 'actual' home. Almost ten kilometers from the village limits located within the Senju Forest was a lake too small to have a name and be charted on any map, but large enough to bare life. Along the shores of that lake would rest a moderately sized log cabin. This was not a small cottage. It was large enough to give the impression whoever dwell within was not a person who lived by the paycheck. It could almost be seen as a vacation home to some.

Inside snored a humble Masuyo, bare body mostly covered in heavy blankets with half of her chest revealed. Her black hair was a mess with locks partially covering her face while some other parts seemingly teased as a result of the notorious hairdresser known as 'the pillow.' On her nightstand sat a bottle of whisky with a little less than a dram remaining, two glasses with nothing inside but the dried, sweet smell of stained liquor. It was early afternoon, the sun finally powerful enough wake the Jounin up. Although it was chilly outside, inside the cabin was toasty warm. The sunlight enhanced that giving her an easy morning. Her eyes opened, conscious again. A long, drawn out yawn followed by the popping of a few joints and her neck limbered up her body. She would stay in bed for twenty minutes more before swinging herself out of bed.

Exiting cabin she held in hand soaps, as well as a set of fresh clothes and a towel. A morning dip was brisk, and although she could have tasked herself with the chore of bucketing water to a tub and heating it, she was nobody to waste time. And she was already behind on schedule. After her bath she returned to the indoors to fix up breakfast. A smoke dried fish, bowl of rice, pickled vegetables, fermented bean sprouts, and miso soup made for a quick, yet highly nutritious brunch. Everything was washed down with a cold, refreshing lager.

Having finished the essentials of her morning routine she had to start thinking about dinner, which was pre-decided. "Can't go wrong with shrimp and lobster...if only I had
remembered to buy steak before leaving the village."
She hummed with a bit of regret in her tone. Masuyo wore something similar to her old Iwagakure uniform as casual dress. Her footwear consisted of standard black sandals fitted for comfort and security. With the toes and heel left exposed they provided additional balance, while the rest of the foot up to the ankle was protected by the thick material of the sandal. The soles of the sandals are reinforced with hardened material to resist heavy impacts and wear. Fishnet tights draw from her feet all the way up the entire length of her legs designed to fit snugly and providing minimal warmth while still remaining breathable in hotter conditions. A pair of tight black shorts reach down nearly five inches above her knees. White bandage wrap is wrapped around her right thigh which has a navy blue holster strapped over. Around her waist she wears the basic utility belt which carries two green holsters on her right side. She wears a red lapel on her left side extending down to her knee not interfering with her access to her tools.

A red top is worn with loose sleeves reaching down just a little past her elbows. Around her neck Masuyo wears her forehead protector as a collar. The black cloth is tied in a knot around the back side of her neck with the steel plate facing the front for identification. The steel plate has Konoha's emblem engraved on the front. Masuyo has straight black hair which extends down to her mid back. Two strands of hair drop down touching her chest which leads into her bangs which are cut shorter and swept to her right side. She stands at 5'9 weighing approximately 145 lbs. Her fair skin is complimented with her voluptuous form which is completed with a pair of hazel eyes.

In both hands she carried a couple lobster cages in either hand with a small bag of bait held in her teeth. Spotted the lake she would pitch her cages and let nature do its work. Meanwhile, she would head inside to fetch the net...

Just after five o'clock with the evening setting in she would have finished all of her chores. Dinner would be cooking, which would be a pot of boiled and brine shrimp, oven baked lobster and mussel, roasted corn and potato, and of course a bowl of rice. The sun was beginning to set as the air began to chill. Masuyo started a fire in the indoor cobblestone fireplace where she lounged by the fire in a cushioned chair, a cup of tea and a teapot on the coffee table. She was reclined and gently rocked herself back and forth. In her hands she read a fantasy novel dealing with a universe not so far from her own, yet the setting was different. She enjoyed herself, peacefully, her lifestyle meant to please none other than herself.

After dinner Masuyo did her nightly chores, washing the dishes and keeping the fire going to heat up the house before she retired for the night. Having completed her duties and wrapped up the night she would crawl back into bed and bundle up well in blankets. The night would carry her into a sleep, and beginning the morning she would pack up in her basic duty gear. It was time to head back to the village and resume her duties. Being all geared up she would leave the cabin making sure it was secure before following the main road back to the village.
