Taking the Twins Out On the Town [Flashback/Twins]

Shimiko walked hand in hand with her new friend and charge. They had stopped by Shimiko's apartment so they twins could get a shower in and a set of fresh clothes. Shimiko being a girl only had girly clothes but it seemed that because the twins had some unique kekkei genkai that allowed to exist as one person and Yui (the girl) appeared to be the main driver of the duo's body, girl clothes would work. Of course, if this was a mistaken assumption on Shimiko's part she'd encourage the twins to voice it and she'd buy them some gender neutral clothes or boy clothes if they so desire. Otherwise she would offer them a white shirt, tie, and longer skirt (not the short skirts she preferred to wear given their apprehension at male attention). She would set aside a spare room for them and made sure they had all the necessities to live like decent Kumogakure shinobi. She even bought a few toys and knick knacks to spruce up their new room and make it feel like home. Shimiko loved finding new converts whose souls were similar to her own but she also genuinely enjoyed being kind and helping others. As the two walked towards Ayano's Shimiko would ask:

"I hope the new room is okay, if there's anything you need just ask and I should be able to get it for you. You can stay as long as you like!"

The two would look at the clothing after their shower it was quite girly compared to what they had ever worn before. They both seemed to appreciate the clothing and both wore it willingly though after they had begun to change it had become clear despite Yui saying sister her twin was actually a male. They wore a slightly longer skirt as they both giggled and enjoyed their outfits before merging back into one being. The new place was huge compared to where they had been forced to sleep, Shimiko offered them this place and had bought them so much they could not believe it really. She asked if they needed anything else but the two would feel really guilty asking for more, they had been given anything they could have ever desired and even a faith that believed in things like themselves.

"Thank you for everything Shimiko, we have never been treated so well, we cannot think of anything else we need. We could use access to some books with knowledge of medical as we wish to learn to use it offensively, to take care of those who deserve death. We know our blood is deadly to others so we can figure out a way to weaponize our blood to kill those Lord Jashin wants dead."

They would both bow to her unsure what to do, the sudden growl from their stomachs would tell they were quite hungry. A slight blush would cover their face as they waited patiently for the meal Shimiko had promised them.

Shimiko was glad that the twins enjoyed their new clothes. The one that was apparently a boy didn't really seem to mind which was fine with her. They were grateful but still eager to serve their new lord and they mentioned asking for medical textbooks. Shimiko had a library card and she knew she could procure some books for them to get them started. The textbooks would probably be a couple years out of date and nothing fancy especially complex but hopefully they'd give the twins somewhere to start. They mentioned that their blood was especially dangerous which caused Shimiko to wonder about their kekkei genkai. She used blood as well and one could say her blood was "poisonous" in a sense but she doubted it was the same as what these twins were working with. She was certain that they'd be an asset to the sect but before they got that far there was one thing she had to nip in the bud.

At the near mention of Janshin's name, Shimiko would stop and turn around to look at the twins. Her expression had changed from its normal cheery vibe to one of complete severity. It was the first time she had expressed anger and annoyance with Yui and Yua. Before the name escaped Yui's lips Shimiko placed a finger to their mouth with deft precision before leaning forward to speak so that only Yui could hear.

"Stop. Do not say his name in public. Yui, I care about you and I want the best for you. But when I say you can't talk about that sort of thing in public. I mean it." Shimiko placed a hand on Yui's shoulder and squeezed while making direct contact with the girl before leaning in closer and practically whispering the rest. "I don't want to have to tell you again. Never talk about harming other people in public. Never use His name in public. If you wear a mask of joy and pleasantness no one will see you coming.[/b]" She offered a secret to Yui. "Why do you think I dress the way I do? Formal yet pleasing to the eye. Nice clothes for a nice girl that wants nothing more than positive attention and to be liked. Never let them see you coming until its too late. Those are my words, make them yours." Shimiko stepped back and took Yui's hand again hoping she would not have to have this conversation with the girl again. The growl in her stomach told Shimiko that was she was hungry but luckily they were getting close to Ayano's. Over the meal they'd discuss things that weren't inherently...violent. Where her stepfather lived and what were his daily habits. Information that they could use to formulate a plan, Shimiko also wanted to know what the twins combat capabilities were. They weren't shy about killing and if sounded like their stepfather had used them to kill people.

When Shimiko arrived at the cafe the two walked in, she expected they'd be greeted by someone. Either Ayano herself or one of her workers. Shimiko would flash yet another characteristic smile and say:

"Table for two please!"

The twins felt a finger go to their lips as Shimiko would tell them once more to never mention his name. She began to whisper in their ear as she gripped their shoulder and explain more to them, she told them once more never talk about violence or harming others in public, the pair would nod as she explained why she acts the way she does. The twins, however, were unsure they could act in such a way, they had never known how to treat others with kindness or how to fake a smile, this is something they would need to train it seemed. She would take the twins hand and once again walk with them taking them to some sort of restaurant, it smelled really good in here to the pair as they would wait to see what would happen.

"We have never been to a place to eat before like this but it smells really good, I can see why you would take us to a place like this."

She would ask the woman for a table for two as they would wait to be seated, it was clear the twins felt nervous as they would squeeze Shimikos hand a little tighter, they had no idea how to act in a place like this and it made them a bit scared. What if they ate the food wrong, would someone yell at them or would a fight break out, they had no knowledge of manners for eating as they were forced to eat with fingers out of an animal dish? They could see something at the table some sort of eating utensil as they were seated with Shimiko, they would just look oddly at the various tools trying to figure out what they were used for.

"We do not understand these things on the table, how do you use these objects, it is for eating we assume."

Shimiko looked at the twins and gave them a warm smile so as to reassure them. "Yeah its a great place to get a bite to eat! I know you'll love it". She felt Yui squeeze her hand as the entered into the cafe and waited to be seated. It occured to Shimiko that this was the twins first time in a cafe or in an eatery in general. This was confirmed by Yui's basic questions and her inability to recognize a spoon, a knife, or a fork. It was truly sad how deprived the girl was and it made her shudder to think how their stepfather must have forced them to eat like a dog. She kept a brave and pleasant face on though as she resolved not to dwell on the negative.This would be a happy experience for the twins, they would get to experience eating in a nice place that smelled wonderful. Shimiko did not want to embarrss them or stress them out with utensils in a place like this. Ayano was also a stickler for appearances and she would not be happy if the twins were making a mess learning how to eat with utensils for the first time. Shimiko decided they would get something that they could eat with their hands for now and then when the time came they would simply learn how to eat with a knife and fork at Shimiko's house.

"Those are called knives, forks, chopsticks and spoons. They are used for eating meals but for today we will eat with hands. We're going to get something called a burger and fries" It was the first meal she had had at Ayano's and it was rockstar good. It was so good it actually made her physically stronger. A waiter took them to their table and Shimiko pulled out the twin's chairs so they could sit down. She then pushed them in and took a seat opposite them. A waiter would come over soon and take their orders. Shimiko decided to order for the twins for the time being so as not to put them under pressure. As they went out to eat more and more, she would let them pick whatever they wanted as soon as they felt comfortable eating as they pleased. The waiter left to put in their order leaving them alone for the time being. Shimiko looked in the twin's eyes. "Are you excited?" she said hoping they'd enjoy their first restaurant eating experience.

The twins listened to her explain what everything was as they still had no idea what exactly they did but at least they knew the names of everything now. She ordered the twins something called a hamburger, they had no clue what that was but it seemed they would eat it with their hands. They were glad she ordered for them as they had no idea what anything was in this place, as they waited for their food they clearly looked uncomfortable in the place the large crowd and people taking was not something they were accustomed to.

"We are excited... and nervous we hope we can eat properly and not offend anyone but we have no idea what the proper way to eat is. We can tell the food must be good though so many people are eating here so we are certain we will enjoy it."

They would continue to wait looking around the room before spotting someone they did not expect to see the man they did. It was one of their fathers business partners as they would try to seemingly hide. They knew their stepfather likely had sent the man to find them and he was a rather dangerous person, he was an ex-shinobi and they were uncertain if he would try to harm them or Shimiko.

"Shimiko... a man our father often used... to carry out tasks for him is here and we are certain he is following us and tracking where we are going. He is a dangerous man a former shinobi, I am unsure if he would plan to harm us or if he would try to harm you."

Yui and Yua's wonder at being in a restaurant for the first tie warmed Shimiko's heart. "You'll be fine. I'll show you how to eat a burger and fries. Its easy and you can do it with your hands" she smiled. "Don't worry, it will all be fine" she said hoping to make them feel more at home. She was about to ask exactly where her stepfather lived when the twins spoke up and mentioned a man who was following them. Shimiko followed the twins' eyes and saw the man. Apparently he was a hit-man used by their stepfather. Shimiko stared at the man barely concealing her anger and hostility. If he was worth half the money that he was being paid he'd recognize her as the Raikage's little sister. Shimiko was confident he was not so stupid to attack them in a place like this in front of everyone. Attacking them period would be extremely bold given her pedigree, clan affiliation, and status as the current Raikage's pupil. The hired muscle may not be that informed but perhaps he'd report to his boss before taking advantage. Shimiko grabbed a knife on the table and fingered its dull edge with controlled rage. She wasn't sure how strong this ex-shinobi bodyguard was but she wanted to leap over the table and attack him. To stab him to death and make him suffer for frightening her new friend.

"He won't harm us" Shimiko said with more confidence than she felt. She turned her attention towards the twins and smiled. "I'm the Raikage's favorite student and if he knows what's good for him he'll stay away from you while your in my company" Shimiko hoped that was true but she couldn't verify it. She didn't want to bring Nariko into this but if the man was strong and willing to act violently then she might need to seek additional help. "Ignore him. Let's talk about something else....how did you get into medicine?"

They were happy about the burgers and fries but they knew that man would not attack them there, no he would bide his time, he played games with those who were his targets very sick games. He would look at the twins and smile and also make a wide smile toward Shimiko waving his hand, so they made friends with the Kages sister. No matter he had no plans to touch them today he had plenty of time to do what he was asked, the question was how long could they restrain their violence. He had been stalking them for weeks he knew they had a nasty and sick demeanor underneath the innocent look, those two were monsters that should be taken care of.  He would walk over to the table carrying a napkin with something inside of it as he would speak so only the three at the table could hear.

"This is just a gift for them, we don't want to harm innocents or cause damage to this place I am guessing. It is nice to see you Shimiko but I wonder what your brother would think of you hanging out with sick monsters like these two. I bet they never told you about the family they slaughtered, yeah do not let the innocent look and behavior fool you they are sick monsters."

He would place it on the table as it would slowly unfold with what appeared to be a child ear inside, the anger on the twins face was clear. The ear was someone the two had known close to their father's place. The earring gave it away as they would quickly snatch the knife sitting next to the plate and attempt to stand as he would continue to walk away smiling and laughing. They began to breathe heavy they wanted to kill him so bad as tears began to fall from their eyes, he had killed their friend. This was what that sicko would do, and it was always impossible to find the bodies, he was very good at covering his crimes or had shinobi in his pocket. They would sit back down clearly shaken, their hands shaking as they tried to calm themselves down, they had to eat they were so hungry but the anger was hard to resist. He would be so easy to kill with his back turned but that's exactly what he wanted so they would get executed. He would have done the job he was sent to do even in death.

"That's... our friend Reiha ear... he killed her, this is what he does, he kills and kills those close to you in any way until you snap. Then he makes it appear you killed everyone we never killed this family... he did it... he killed the entire family... you won't find evidence you never do... we are sorry you are now a target as well."

They would not be left alone. The sicko smiled and waved indicating that he knew that they knew who he was and why he was here. Shimiko gave the man a death glare unable to restrain herself and put on a facade of sweetness. She wanted nothing more than to leap across the table and stab him to death. Although she would not disrespect Ayano's Cafe by staining the establishment with the blood of such a cruel man, Shimiko was already scheming on how to get more information on this new enemy. As he approached their table, Shimiko gripped the knife on her table and slowed her breathing. If he was dumb enough to attack them here and now then so be it although the commotion would draw a lot of unneeded attention as far as future plans went. To Shimiko's surprise the man didn't come to kidnap the twins or start a fight, he had come solely to taunt them and play head games.

He chided her for hanging out with Yui and Yua. He called them monsters and implied her brother wouldn't want her associating with someone like that. Shimiko cracked a sly grin amused that he had no idea who he was talking to. His words had a cruel sense of irony in that while he cursed the twins for appearing innocent while being ruthless murderers Shimiko was more or less cut from the same cloth. Shimiko didn't care who Yui and Yua had killed. Some family that was unconnected to her? It meant absolute nothing.

"I don't care what they did" she said truthfully. "You and your master probably made them do it and when we're finished with you, we'll come for him next. I was going to let you live if you promised to leave this village and never come back but you mentioned my brother so now you're gonna die" she said in a quite tone. She gave a moment of faux-consideration before confirming her plan. "Yeah, that's what Seigi would do" she added softly before allowing him to leave. He'd place a napkin on the table before leaving and its contents briefly revealed an ear. Shimiko's eyes grew wide in shock and she suppressed a shriek at the sight. She quickly covered it back up and moved if off the table, slipping it into her pocket as she looked back at the man with a far more malice. She then noticed the twins crying and standing with a knife in their hands. Shimiko was about to tell them to sit before they drew to much attention to themselves but the twins seemed to realize that on their own.

The twins revealed that it was their friend Reiha's ear. The man had murdered her and was a specialist in conducting assassinations and framing others. Shimiko wouldn't have cared one way or the other if the twins were responsible but the fact that he had murdered their friend and pinned the blame on them left a sour taste in her mouth. It was sick and cowardly, the opposite of what Jashinism taught. If he was responsible for wiping out an entire family without anyone being able to catch him he had to have at least be Chuunin level. He was dangerous and depending on the threat level he posed she might be forced to call in back up. Letting him walk away though was simply not an option. He had ruined what was supposed to be a special occasion for the twins. They'd be able to dine on real food for once in a real restaurant. It was meant to be a good day and he had ruined that with his presence and his actions. The mood was spoiled and there was no use pretending things were fine. Shimiko got out of her seat, walked over to the twins, and knelt to give them a hug. For now she'd console them and help them recover.

"Yui...Yua" she said addressing them both. "We can take our meals to go, we can eat them back at the apartment" she whispered. "We don't have to stay here if you don't want to. And don't worry about me" she gave a determined grin. "This bastard just made himself a target. He has no idea who he's dealing with"

Yui and Yua listened to her response to the man she felt glad to have such a good friend, they could tell Shimiko was angry but she also made sure to comfort the pair. As she suggested grabbing the food and going back to the apartment they would nod their heads as the shaking of their hands stopped and they waited for the food to be brought.

"We understand Shimiko, we just feel bad for troubling you so much, if we are ever too much of a bother tell us we can understand being angry dragging you into our problems."

They were more than ready to go back to a safe place, but they knew that man likely already knew where they were staying now, meaning anyone that went there would be a target of his. The worried look still could be seen on the face of the twins even when merged back into the same body, neither looked happy like any happiness they ever got was instantly taken because of the stepfather cruelty.

"Why can't we ever have happiness, we get it for a moment and he takes it away from us...We must be terrible people as we must be cursed to never be allowed to feel happy."

"You'll never be too much trouble Yui and Yua" she said as she embraced the twins again. "You're not just my friends, you're my family now. Sisters in faith." she said plainly. It appeared the boy of the twins opted to prefer the feminine but she wouldn't not be offended if they corrected her. The girl stood up straight and looked at the waitress who was bringing their food. She gave the woman a neutral look and she could tell just by looking at the distressed twins that the order would be to go. She walked the twins to the door and picked up the food from the cafe's front counter. "None of this is your fault" she said in a low voice. "You will be happy again and you will be free of your stepfather and his evil" She grabbed the food and cast one more look at the cruel stepfather's hired hand. Her eyes narrowed and she swore that she'd kill him at the earliest opportunity. They could eat back at Shimiko's apartment and then plan on how to go about getting rid of their new enemies.

The twins heard her say they were family now as they both smiled a bit, still, they felt guilty for the entire situation. She once again reassured them none of this was the twins fault, but maybe they deserved all of this. Their own birth parents abandoned them, so maybe they did not deserve to even be alive. This doubt and self-hatred made them feel sad as they would take the food and go with Shimiko. They looked forward to eating the food holding Shimikos hand tightly, they had a lot to plan and a belly to fill.

"Thank you for everything Shimiko, you saved us from a likely life of depravity and possible death at an early age. We owe our lives to you and will do whatever we need to repay you, Shimiko we are happy to hear you think of us as a family."

The would walk with Shimiko keeping their eyes peeled for traps or that man, they could never feel comfortable until the stepfather was dead. Soon this nightmare would be over, soon they could live in peace and finally get to enjoy this thing called happiness.
