Description: An infiltration technique believed to have been used by one of Kaguya Otsusuki subordinates, this technique allows the user to merge their body with the ground and flora, as well as travel at such high speed one could mistake it for teleportation. This is not digging, but a proper merge and movement through willpower that does not displace the ground.
When used in a thread, the user merges with the ground and travels through underground root systems and water channels, setting their Speed at X++ while they are using this technique. While in this state the user's perception is treated as equal to their speed for the purposes of preventing tunnel vision and blurriness while the user while moving.
When used for traveling the world, the user no longer needs to spend IRL time waiting before they arrive in a new land, they just simply pay the activation cost and arrive near-instantaneously.
In both cases, the user's presence is completely concealed while Mayfly is in use, making it impossible to detect them; not even Mind's Eye of the Kaguya, Negative Sensory, or Dojutsu can detect the user while they are fully submerged. This makes this technique perfect for close-ranged spying and infiltration, giving the user a 50m sensory where they can watch and listen to their surroundings while in use. The user is also able to mentally communicate with any wood clones within range of the user for no additional cost.
The user may partially emerge from the ground to attack/defend/etc.
Weakness: While using Mayfly fully submerged the user is unable to attack or defend, requiring them to at least partially surface in order to do so. They may still activate Sensory techniques & abilities, as well as techniques made to work in conjunction with Mayfly (such as Mayfly: Antlion and burying C2: Explosive Landmines) while fully submerged, but are limited to maintaining other kinds of techniques while in this state.
If the user is partially submerged, their speed is instead set to A++. Also while partially surfaced, the user is able to be picked up by sensory techniques unless the user has Kanchijutsu (Sensory) and spends additional training (1,000wc) to completely hide their chakra signature while staying still. Other forms of sensory (sight, emotions, thermal, etc.) will still be effective when partially submerged.
If the user attempts to emerge and attack someone while still using Mayfly, the target will have a short time to react. Those with a higher perception stat then the user's coordination will be able to react to the attack per the stealth rules. As this tech's range is global, it is limited to the planet the user is on and may not be used to traverse to a different planet nor dimension.
