Description: A giant bear standing over eight feet in height has been spotted lurking close to the roads leading to Konohagakure. The bear has been terrorising travels, attacking them without provocation. Find the bear and eliminate it.

It had been quite some time since Kanara had taken a mission for Konoha. Too much hustle for her, she thought to herself before. Too little reward. After all, what good was money to her, when she didn't have anything to spend it on? No. The thing that would have been best for her at this very moment instead was simply to train, in order to get stronger. Despite this, however, some things werent as easy as that, namely being for example a mission given by the hokage's office personally. As such, there wasn't much room for Kanara to wiggle around.

So getting to the meeting point that had been described in the order, she was waiting for her partner in this mission. She didn't know who it was at all, neither their name nor rank or anything else about them. So, waiting there in her rather open clothes, she waited for whoever was to arrive, as she read through the scroll. Spending a few thoughts on how a bear could be considered a B- rank threat, she finally shrugged it off and told herself that it didn't really matter anyways. she was doing the village a service and was earning a pretty buch at the same time, regardless of who it actually was that needed to seize existing.

Tengoku would wait quietly outside of the administration building. He had hidden his presence before with Yuichi because he felt the young man would have acted differently if he knew Tengoku was watching. Perhaps a little too restrained. However todays participant in the mission seemed to be their polar opposite despite the two being dear friends. He would watch with hawk like golden eyes as Kanara would approach. Despite being promoted to chunnin she hadn't done many missions over the last couple of years. Perhaps being promoted had driven her to dedicate more time to training. Or to learning more of the frightening ability that had overtaken her some time ago. Even now he wasn't certain she was in control. If anything his own abilities and hers were somewhat of a mystery tied to the event that ended all wars roughly two years ago. A peace summit had happened before hand but that battle had unified them a little more.

Still he wanted Kanara to know it was him watching over her. She was known to show boat and go to drastic levels quickly. With him there perhaps she would be more behaved. After all wide spread high tier jutsu were not the only way to deal with an issue. Her Uchiha blood ran hot so he wasn't utilizing a mission within village limits. Still she would need to do more than simply annihilate a target with ease to be promoted. Though he wouldn't mention the promotion just yet. Instead he would cross his arms and meet her eye. One of the few people in the village willing to meet the eyes of an Uchiha. And perhaps the only person who could match her in speed in the village. Though his true talents weren't focused on speed. Tengoku himself was standing there in a tank top and jeans with boots on. The golden rings on his wrists, upper arms and ankles were evident. As well as the three swords on his left hip strapped one above the other. He was dressed rather casually but his equipment was still present. As if he never took it off. Truthfully he wished the bow he had ordered was finished too as it provided a good ranged option for him. Still He would greet her in a warm voice with a soft smile though.

"Uchiha Kanara...Good morning. I trust you are prepared to go on this hike?"

Kanara would grett the hokage from afar, seeing hi standing outside of the hokage's office in a rather... unusual... clothes. As she approached further, she would finally come to a halt right in front of him, her new weapon, the phoenix claws worn over her nakes skin with no problem whatsoever asshe answered with a slight bow: "Of course, Tengoku-sama. I think we are headed for the forrest today? Besides that... i still dont know what kind of mission we are doing today... although i imagine it mustbe quite important if you are also involved in it..."

After all it was true. Kanara didn't have the slightest clue why the Hokage, the leader of the entirety of the land of fire, would come with her today. Was it a secret mission? Was he threatened and needed a resilient shield that could fight back and give him time for something? Or was it something else entirely? Not completely sure about this fact, Kanara would lay her head on the site as she awaited an answer, hopefully, one that would lay open todays plans as much as possible. After all, despite her training, only few things had changed, that being for example her speed and armory. But besides that, she still was the Uchiha chuunin that had passed ehr tryout to become a chunin in the first place in the training facility.

Tengoku would nod to the slight bow. Barely formal in nature but he didn't seem to mind. Their best attempt at being polite it would seem. Still they spoke politely too. He knew Kanara as a twitching girl burning up in his office with her emotions. One melt down away from torching a house or more. Perhaps her unique situation was why Tengoku was going personally. If she went out of control it would take a great deal to put her down. Something very few were capable of. Tengoku being one of them and likely the best option available. Not that he wanted that outcome. If anything he would hope to observe something different and more in control this time. Her display of katon power in the field the other day was something but....starting heavy like that was like punching a hole in the gas tank. Yuichi and her were opposites. He needed encouragement for engagement. She needed a lesson in restraint. So there was a specific mission in mind for the two of them. One that required restraint or they would fail. Problem solving. He would get to that in a bit but for now they needed to be on their way. So he placed his left hand on his hip. Whipping a pair of gold trimmed orange aviators out of his pocket with his right and sliding them on due to the sunny day.

"Lets not pretend here Kanara. This is an evaluation mission. I am not here to do anything more than score you and keep you from being unalived. So the responsibility of this mission is on you. Thus so is the command of said mission. I will explain more on the way. We should clear the village quickly at our speed so keep up."

Tengoku would shift his legs slightly as the rings around his ankles would unfold into feathered shin guards and activate. Boosting him to her S tier speed. He would raise his eye brows with a smile. Black and golden eyes watching her through orange tint before he was gone. Likely with her keeping pace. In mere moments they would clear the wall and be off into the forest. He would fall back to A rank speed as they ran along the ground for comfort.

"This is a B rank mission. Lately bears have been going insane. Attacking homes and even small villages. However they have also proven durable. Small scale weapons and jutsu had no effect. Requiring the need for large scale jutsu. However why these bears are so durable or acting so strangely is usually wiped out on such a grand scale. Our task is to hunt a bear that recently was spotted near the roads. Attacking travelers without provocation. However it is up to us to either capture it or kill it mostly intact to assist the investigation. This is the road its been hunting on. So whats the next move?"

"Evaluation huh? Thats interesting..." Kanara would state while scratching her chin slightly. After all, nothing serious had happened so it was weird to have a evaluation based upon nothing. Why evaluate her now? Regardless it didnt matter. As far as she was concerned, this was just a mission to her. Tengoku said it himself, he was only there to evaluate her. "Well, yes! Lets get on it, Tengoku-sama."

Using nearly her full speed to head out of the village at a neck breaking speed, and finally into the dense forrest, she would keep rather quiet until Tengoku began to speak about the mission. Listening in to his explainations, she would finally nod and return:

"I see... well luckily my phoenix claws are enough to deal with bears... Aside from that though, they shouldnt be able to ht me anyways... after all i am quite fast. I think the best way for this would be to spread the search area a bit further."

With this, she would perfom the shadow clone technique and send a number of clones in every direction, each one and herself activating the sharingan as well, in order to give her a boost to her perception that would be helpful in finiding the bear. Sure enough it wouldnt take long until Kanara, a clone at that, found the offending animal. Being alerted by her clone, kanara would change their direction towards the bear that was such a trouble causer.

Tengoku would listen as they moved. She was quick to make a judgement call and spread out her search ability a bit further than she otherwise would have noticed. So she could make judgement calls in the field...along with that she seemed confident in her ability to deal direct precision damage. Which would be needed to uncover the mystery here. After all it wasn't just one bear that had been the issue. Several had been eliminated thus far with the same reasoning. There was a large bear population in the deeper woods but if this continued it would mean the genocide of the local population. Someone so close to nature as Tengoku wasn't looking to endanger a species acting out of its norm. That said he also couldn't allow them to attack people. What was more was winter had come and these bears were still active instead of hibernating. By now they should have had their fill and be asleep in some shelter somewhere for months. His gold and black eyes shifted to the sky and its clouds. Snow could fall any time now and they were still after prey? Something was off here and they needed to know more.

Still she would shift without a word and head somewhere directly. So her tactic had located her prey. The question here was would she simply eliminate the bear as the mission required or would she look for more information. Any Chunnin could simply eliminate the beast without much difficulty. A jounin he would expect to find the source of the issue. Still soon enough they would come across at a distance the ruins of a recent attack. Most of the merchants had fled but two carts were overturned and one guard was dead next to them. The bear eating him right there next to the road and having its meal. Tengoku however would stop downwind of it. Keeping his scent from being picked up easily. His sensory stretching out as he found something odd. From here he could see the whites of the bears eyes...no pupils...and its chakra system seemed...infected? The bear wasn't conscious but was still acting out. So he was right...something else was going on. The faint signs of a chakra trail led further into the woods. He would note that for late but for now instead of tracking its origins they would need to deal with the bear itself...would Kanara even investigate further? Tengoku wasn't certain.

Upon arriving at the battle site, a battle which had been short and victorious for one side, and one side only, she would take a look at the situation at hand. While this bear certainly was a troublemaker, he wasnt looking like she imagined him to be. Instead of large and agressive, it was rather sickly and with a clouded mind, she felt. Needless to say this was weird, even for the only standart intellect that Kanara posessed. Approaching the bear she would mutter out: "Well arent you a lovely animal...", closer examining the beast as it turned towards her and slowly aproached her.

And she appeared to be correct. In fact there was something within this animal that was wrong. Chakra that didnt belong where it was at the moment. Aside from that the bears movements were clear despite his apparent state that was close at the edge of death. Ignoring the bear for now and taking a look around with ehr three tomoed sharingan it would take a while before she spotted the faint chakra signature that was leading deeper into the forrest.

By now the bear was within biting range but Kanara evaded it effortlessly as she went into the direction of the source of whatever was effecting the bear, or at least the source of the chakra, keeping the giant fur covered beast behind her as it tried to tattack ehr over and over again. A game that Kanara would have won without a doubt, not only thanks to her high coordination but also her speed.

It wouldnt take long until she appeared to reach a weird rock of sorts that seemed to carry different emblems on it. Examining it for the meantime she would mutter out: "You didnt lick that, did you?"

Tengoku on the other hand would not approach the bear or the scene ahead of them. Choosing instead to sink into the forest and fade from view. His black and golden eyes observing for now as she would approach. Dancing with it while she shifted back and forth with superior speed. So far she hadn't attacked it but she was drawing it into the forest. His eyes would pick up her movements easily enough. The lumbering bear was no match for her obviously. Still he would only observe for now as he cast out his chakra sensory. They were alone with the bear and a few other critters around but there was something else attached to the bear itself. Like a string. He was familiar with puppet techniques but not enough to know if there was one that could be used remotely.

However he would shift through the woods and watch in silence as she moved along the thread. The singular puppet string leading to a small disk like rock...well the rock itself was designed to hide the purpose of the disk by the looks of it. However he would resonate with it even from where he was fifty meters away rather quickly. Likely Kanara would too given how close she was and her own unique gifts. He could feel it in his blood that it was modified tech from the heavenly emporium wreckage. The source of his control over gravity and her immortality. However Tengoku didn't know anything beyond that. However the rock was designed to cover the metal and intricate seals within. It appeared to anyone who knew anything about seals or engineering that it was designed to be a parasitic control device. Whoever was on the other side could likely see through it and choose a target to attempt to gain control over. However given that it hadn't jumped to either of them....did it only have the ability to target one creature at a time? What kind of range did it have? If the bear were to die with someone as potent as either of them...would it spell disaster for the village?

Tengoku would cross his arms as he thought this out. Killing the creature would cause unknown results....but the teams that had done so before...had they been infected? What was the goal of this person on the other end and what conditions had to be met? His eyes shifted to Kanara as he contemplated what he would do given the limited information they had. Still it was a step for their investigation and she hadn't made any mistakes yet...cautious and capable were both qualities of a good shinobi.

Examining the strange artifact placed so openly, Kanara would circle around it, her sharingan hiushing over the area with great speed as she continued to piss off the bear by evading him. Memorably though, the bear seemed to have a near endless stamina, rage or both as neither the attacks nor its stupid, instinctual interest in her seemed to seize at any point during her examination.

Seeing this, she was confronted with a choice, that being to either inquire further with the strange artifact, or instead destroy it. Both carried a number of risks, and while she was certain that her regeneration could outpace the effects, whatever they were, she wasnt too eager to do so. Whistling one of her clones over, it would appear next to her and after looking each other into their eyes, it wouldnt take long for the clone to reach for the artifact, stopping as soon as its finger touched it and poofing immediately.

Mind control. Naturally the clone had dispersed as its brain was not real and it merely was a copy of a normal one, a not too sturdy one at that. However the fact that teh clone had disscipated had shown that this way of mind control was not consentual in any way, and instead not only invasive, but outright damaging. Shortly before the clone had disappeared however, its mind had felt a certain pull, further east, further away from the village. While Kanara didnt know what exactly she would be looking for, she would trace further east, taking the bear with her and remembering the position of this artifact, to deal with it in whatever way necessary later.

As time went on and Kanara traveled further, she woudl eventually come across a cave that seemed rather weird. While it certainly was natural, its entrance seemed to be created by man, as if it had been closed by an avalance and opened by men again after some time. Entering the darkness, she would be looking over the walls, the further she penetrated into the darkness.

It wouldnt be soon until she heard a weird chorus of sounds, coming from differently sized beings.

Tengoku did not like the idea of leaving the artifact there but he could not help but to follow her. Kanara wasn't satisfied with examining one clue and providing it to experts but instead chose to find the whole truth. There was unknown variables in the risk but...she didn't have a squad to be concerned for. If she was confident in her own abilities this was the natural choice. Still his black and gold eyes would trail her from where she was from some distance away. Keeping out of notice of the bear but being only a short enough distance to interfere in a dangerous situation. Still he knew a little of her supposed immortality. Such an ability could make one arrogant in battle. He would follow however at a distance to observe while running his sensory. There wasn't anyone around to collect the item lest a passerby finds it. Unlikely though given the roads turned over wagons would likely hold their attention. That aside she seemed to be bringing the bear with her. Keeping the civilians out of harms way while seeking out the enemy. Following a trail even he could barely detect. No wonder the less sensory inclined ninja from before had missed this.

Still he would stretch his chakra sensory out. He could feel the connection and soon enough four fairly strong opponents based on their significant signatures inside of a cave....however it would also appear that six others had begun to flee and were almost three hundred meters from the cave. So the connection was more than a loose control. The moment Kanara made a B line for this base they had begun to abandon it. It appeared that they left four of their best fighters while six weaker members fled. If they could they likely intended to ambush Kanara the moment she appeared. The bear was lugging as close as it could after her....likely a fifth attacker to block the exit once she entered. He didn't like it but the bear was too much of an obstacle and he could not simply knock it out without some force. He had to assume they saw what it did. So they were likely not aware of him yet. So in a flash he would step up next to it. He felt sympathy for the animal as he dropped his elbow onto the base of its neck where the chakra point was connected. A thin line of chakra on his elbow stunning the animal and disturbing the connection enough for it to slump over.

"They are aware you're coming. My bet is through the bears connection. There are four inside that are combatants and six weaker enemies escaping on foot already a little over three hundred meters northeast. Temporarily I will let you assume command over me. Which group do you want me to engage? The other is yours. And remember....we need answers more than bodies."

While it was rather weird that now the Hokage had chosen to intervene and tell her something that she didnt know, she woudlnt question it twice. In her mind, she expected the artifact which had been effecting the bear that still had been in the process of constantly attacking her until Tengoku put an end to it, to be not manmade but something else instead. After all, Kanara had heard rumors about things. Rocks that were holding strange properties, ranging from healing to empowering up to controlling minds and bodies alike, even being able to defy the boundaries set by nature. Looking at tengoku for a few seconds she finally would shrug as she gave out: "I might be the faster one to catch them, so i would say that you are taking the cave, while i am scrapping up anything that it intending to flee?"

Another thing was rather weird to Kanara however. If they truly were using the bear as their scout and remotely controlled weapon, being able to even go against its natural flight reflex of its other instincts, why hadnt they taken over a human by now? After all, bears were ahrdly suited for anything else then dealing damage, and even then a shinobi had the chance to deal more damage in a shorter time. THis however, was a question for another time. Looking back at thengoku once more, she would finally give out: "Lets split up now. I will be back shortly."

Blitzing off at full speed, it she would move to intercept the group of retreating hostiles together with her clones that she had created earlier on.

Tengoku would nod to Kanara as she made what he felt was the wise choice. She was faster out of the two of them and he was a highly capable close quarters fighter. Since the goal was to get information they couldn't simply fill the cave with fire after all. People talked and evidence was every where in there. Likely in the process of getting destroyed. Still it was as if she was gone in the blink of an eye. A blur of movement in front of Tengoku. Though his eye could track it. He glanced after her a moment. Of course Tengoku hoped she would spare them all death instead of just one or two...but he also didn't mind either way. What they had been doing wasn't simply robbery. They had been terrorizing a major trade route. This made them possible terrorists. If they died attacking one of his shinobi than he did not care if they died outside of the information in their heads. After all attacks on his village royally pissed him off. But he would try and lead by example. The four in the cave would live. But these next few moments would inflict pain as punishment like they wouldn't believe.

His black and gold eyes shifted back to the said cave. His hand resting on his hilt. No...he wouldn't need those. He wanted them alive after all. Still his fingers dropped in a pattern repeatedly one after the other. Drumming on his hilt as he contemplated his approach. He could sense them...smell them. No scent of explosives so they hadn't set a trap to seal him into the cave. A missed opportunity but maybe one of them was a doton user. Casually he would feel each of them out with his chakra sensory. He could feel their blood from here...like his own....but no elements....did they...Well that was interesting. They had his dojutsu. They each had gravity release. The weakest version of the release but still it was surprising. A picture was forming for him now...the Heavenly emporiums population eh? Some of them had a bone to pick with Konoha it would seem.

With a calm and confident smile across his face. Tengoku would walk forward. Striding confidently directly into the ambush. He knew their tactic now was to drop gravity on him or the cave and destabilize it. Likely Kanara would run into the gravity situation too...however at the level they were at he doubted it would effect her much. She was much too strong for the base tier to effect her much. Still the moment he stepped fully into the cave all four would step into the cave from alcoves. There was a burning bin of papers in the back with a big desk and separate sleeping stations. They had lived here a while. However all four looked at him at once with black eyes and one blue line going up on it. Only to find black eyes with three gold lines looking back. Despite their shock they would all use their hand signs and drop the weakest of their blood techniques. Stacking it on top of Tengoku one over the other as the roof of the cave began to shake and dust crumbled off.

However Tengoku did not buckle under their combined weight increase jutsu. Instead he would calmly form a single hand sign. The Ram and it would cancel out all three of theirs. His chakra pulsing out in a dome as the gravity of theirs was canceled out entirely. With that...they would stand there shocked at the difference in power. Tengoku was close to mastering his while they had fumbled about. Still the first of four would charge forward with a yell and a kunai. He wasn't a remarkable fighter however by any means...which meant Tengoku could have taken it easy. Instead in a step Tengoku had launched forward himself and dropped a spinning air kick into the mans solar plexus. Shattering it and sending him flying back into the far back wall. Imprinting him into it. He was a tough one though so it wasn't enough to kill him. Just several months of medical attention. With that Tengoku would land into a basic Arhat stance and crack his neck.

"Come than. You wanted to spread fear....lets see if you can scare me."

It wouldnt take long for Kanara to surpass the group of fleeing hostiles in a speed that was threatening to bread the barrier of sound. Needless to say, her appearance was quite dramatical due to this. After all, after lightning followed thunder and after kanara folloed a violent, destructive wave of wind that was breaking off twigs from nearby trees, tearing leaves off of the trees and bending the grass in a way as if an elephant had marched over it. A truly magnificent show of force against, what she assumed to be, d clas shinobis at best. "Going out for a walk?" Kanara would ask them in a relaxed tone, as if she hadnt targeted the group from afar and had went to go after them.

Immediately 2 people off of teh group began to weave handseals for fire style techniques, but they were stopped by kanara's clones which had followed her and were now taking the hand of the shinobi's, lookin them in the eye as they stopped their handseals. However, even if they didnt get to finish their attack, there was something else to it. It was meant as a distraction. A rather useless endavaour as the other 4 shinobi were encircled by more clones of Kanara shortly afterwards:

"Or are you actually running..." Kanara would continue. "I wonder if its got something to do with the bears in Konoa going wild. You wouldnt happen to know anything about that, would you?"

Letting her gaze wander over the attending people, it became apparent shortly afterwards that in fact they knew exactly what she was talking about, but they werent going to talk regardless.

Tengoku would watch as the three men remaining clearly knew who they were facing. He could hear their teeth grinding as they were trying to figure out a plan. Their intent had been to kill anyone who came in with the help of the bear in a five on one ambush. However that had utterly failed. Plan B was also a failure. Had their opponent been too strong for them they were to collapse the cave and take their target out with them. Buying the rest of the team more time to escape. However their combined power had been canceled out and the cave remained whole. They knew they were outclassed and for now their hesitation was meant to buy time. Tengoku would glance between them a moment as they seemed to think he wouldn't go after them immediately. Speaking up to them. A quiet tone used.

"I will give you ten more seconds to come at me or I will come at you. Think it through and either surrender or come at me. I don't have all day. I am a busy man."

There was a moment longer of them glancing between each other before they shifted. Choosing their best option was to surround him and come from three directions. Charging him with blades in an effort to hopefully have one of them land an attack on his blind spots. Kunai aimed at vitals as they roared with their timed charge. Of course this was only one of the bad options since they didn't have any good ones. They had been caught by a force they couldn't comprehend doing something most people would kill them for. They couldn't even see the strikes to their wrists that broke them. Sending the three kunai flying into the stone of the cave walls side by side in a row. All of them would drop to their knees in pain from their shattered wrists. Grasping them in pain before suddenly a shadow seemed to appear in front of each one of them. It was six blows in total but only the last one saw the last hit coming. Their eyes unable to keep up with S rank coordination taijutsu. One was launched into the left wall with a back hand while the other was launched into the right wall with the same simultaneously. Finally the last hit the ceiling with a rising knee and dropped unconscious to the ground before Tengoku. Who relaxed and brushed himself off lightly from the dust of it all in a matter of a couple seconds.

"Well that was a poor choice. Surrender would have been less painful and no visit to the hospital for you four."

While Tengoku was engaged with his group, the more combat sturdy individuals there, Kanara's group on the other hand was seing more reason against the woman that moved at a speed that was barely even perceivable for them. After all, why fight the inevadible. As such, Kanara would take some of their ninja toos and make makeshit ties for their arms, before sh eescorted them towards the cave, questioning them on the way:

"So... that wierd rock. What was it?"
"An artifact..."
"No shit... and what does it do? Where does it belong to, and where does it come from?"
"The heavenly emporium... a remian of the thing that attacked us."
"How the hell did you manage to salvage that piece and get out in one piece?"
"We had help."
"From who?"
"Thats about all i will tell. We for that matter. Try your shenanigans. They wont work. We literally cant say out the name or even remember it. Ever solid thought we make about them is wrong."

To bring his point across, one of the detainees would ask his colleague about the looks of this strange person that had helped them escape, only to ask another shortly afterwards. Watching them closely, Kanara noticed that their expressions seemed to be somewhat cloudy as soon as the topic came up, and their expressions rather uncertain. Was it genjutsu that was doing this? Or something else?

Reagardless of the mystery at hand, the group of clones, kanara and detainees would soon arrive back at the cave, where the clones would stand guard outside, while Kanara ventured inside, eager to meet up with tengoku once more and to see how far he was with his group.

Tengoku would settle on the table in the center of the room. Sitting upon it as he crossed his arms and waited. According to his sensory Kanara had run into the more reasonable part of the group. Since their fighters had been left behind they had accepted their powerlessness against her. His black and gold eyes would shift over to the men who had been waiting for him in the room. He could hear their steady heartbeats and shallow breaths so....they were fine. Still he would yawn and stretch a little before settling in. The documents that had been destroyed were lost of course but a great many still remained. Every inch of this place would be analyzed and so would the prisoners. Their eye techniques would make them dangerous despite their weakness so he would be sure to place some potent jounin on them. However something felt off. He couldn't put his finger on it.

Still Kanara would arrive shortly after back to the cave. Her herself and she was escorting the enemy like sheep. Still the look of surprise to see the Hokage sitting among the broken bodies of their allies was to be expected. Not many expected the Hokage to intervene directly and truthfully this was by sheer happenstance. His eyes shifted to Kanara who seemed all but bored with them. He wondered if she had wanted a fight at some point. Still he would speak up once everyone was present. His arms remaining crossed as he ran a tongue along the inside of his canines in annoyance with this lot.

"Welp....I can't just let you lot off with a slap on the hand and a light beating. People died and you spread terror along our highway. I would imagine the goal was to disrupt our recovering economy but we will get to the bottom of it all. Believe you me. Kanara would come back to the cave, just in time to watch the hokage of konohakagure speak his judgement over the people in the cave. While part of her was understanding about it, another one seemed strangely dissapointed by it. After all, they seemed to have caused more then just a ruckus and suck knowledge could be dangerous. Maybe this was even the reason as of why they had chosen to take them in.
