    New Melody, New Life
    (Introduction)
    Chapter 1
Act 1, Awaken Anew My Child

    [Room - #004] Office Sector

As the Autumn season settles through the Land of Earth. The residents of Iwagakure seem to enter their daily routines just like any other day. A fluctuating pattern of weather patterns leaves each day as an offset of the last. Warm mornings and cold nights loom the warnings of Winter... However, for the next three months, the country will have downtime to finish up as many preparations as they can before the next season arrives.

For one such person, these preparations mainly involve the arrangement of organizing a whole new life. One that will be vastly different, and even more challenging than the first. Almost as if being reborn completely.
"Is everything from last week's reports acquired doctor?" asked a man with a calm and stoic tonality in his voice.

"Um,...yes sir. I have the files right here. Although if I may; I'd like to look into a bump up in therapeutic sessions with the patient to see if there are more things we need to discover and diagnose. Honestly, these reports are terrible and morally worrying." another male voice answered back. Although he seemed a little tired when speaking.

"Morally worrying?..." the stoic man repeated out loud. Afterward, the man's head would turn towards the left to look over his shoulder. A hint of green hue from his eyes piercing through a medium-sized conference room. His sharp but harmless gaze aimed towards the doctor on the other side of the office room with files in his hands.

"Were there reports of violent outbursts?"  the man inquired only after a minimal pause.

The doctor raised a brow at first before shaking his head in response. He would then begin skimming through the papers as he began to speak.
"No not that I have read thus far. Patient 01-37 simply seems to be having a really rough time out there with the other students. Or...more so the students & some of the teachers are giving her one." the doctor stated.

"Suna no shinda shōjo has yet to find life then." the man would then say softly as if thinking out loud.

"E-xcuse me sir?!" the doctor exclaimed a little puzzled.

"Dead Girl from the Sand. It's what some of her classmates have been calling her for the past week." he'd then clarify instinctively.

"Wow...that's just terrible..." the doctor would say clearly taken aback by this information.

"Well, it's certainly not the warmest welcome to a newcomer in the shinobi world." The man added with a slight chuckle.

"Although I suppose I should add that some of the other students have only resorted to calling her: "Seishuku". I believe that is a far less...harrowing progression of a nickname."

"Well I would like to think considering the first as a viable option for a living being isn't even worthy of an afterthought. But I digress." the doctor added in firmly.

"No need to get emotionally semantic doctor; I was merely stating an observation about the patient's grave development within the community. Clearly, she has yet to...evolve and fit in with their new life."

"Yes well, perhaps inducting them into the academy so soon, was a mistake like myself and the other doctors feared. Almost 87% of the total reports are entirely negative responses and notes from the instructors. The other remaining portion is a combined amalgamation of over-exaggerated and fraudulent reports from the students trying to impersonate their teachers. In short... there isn't much faith in the girl's status within the academy lasting very long sir." the doctor then stated in an attempt to move on, and add more to the topic of the conversation.

"Yes yes, I know. Although how could there be? The girl is emotionally unresponsive and practically a volunteer mute. She may have potential, but her social skills have seemingly all but decayed after being in a coma for so long. Quite a stark contrast from their previous self from what I've heard..." the man retorted.

"Still; that doesn't discourage me from looking into seeing how she can develop into a fine and respectable shinobi. I wouldn't want it to be so soon either given her condition, but someone her age should have been trained much earlier than now. So we don't have much time to wait. Besides...her old life isn't recoverable by any means. This is her best option as far as I see it." he'd then mention.

"Mr. Hinako... I don't want to press into personal business between you and the village. But I am seriously worried about this girl's mental health. 01-37 barely got past the clearance of being allowed to roam the hospital grounds with a nurse escort.

And yet this teenage girl is now apparently being inducted into a grueling ninja academy in one of the Five Great Ninja Nations? I am not only highly concerned about the effects they can and will cause to her mental state. But also suspicious about the intentions behind such ridiculous decisions.

There are hardly any positives from someone in Patient 01-37's condition doing something like this. Bad things could come from being exposed to such a harsh social environment after surviving such traumatizing events."
the doctor lectured, eventually stepping around the table to approach the man. Only stopping a couple of feet away from him, although now having to look up to keep eye contact.

However, the man only stood there returning a silent and unphased look. Whether it was to display fake concern for the doctor's opinion or be disapproving couldn't be discerned at the given moment. Somewhat annoyed the doctor pinched the bridge of his nose with his fingers. Taking a moment to collect his thoughts before he spoke this time.[/justified]

"Look, I'm just a doctor doing my job right? So let me share something..." he'd say with a momentary pause.

"Being the medical professional here. I'd like to note that this whole operation you are doing, would be hard to pass even for a person who was already trained in chakra and has a normal background in shinobi tactics and lifestyles. But since this is a formerly civilian person. The idea itself has now reached damn near impossibly impossible territory chances of beneficial success.

I also know how you business types are when it comes to moving the goal post around and trying to redefine what passes as a good risk and reward so I'll cut my lecture short by saying this...

I can't see what you are attempting to do as being anything less than unnecessary human experimentation on the behalf of corporate ingenuity. So as assistant to the head of the medical operations for Patient 01-37, I get to help decide when and where she goes after her time here expires.

And you best believe that I am not afraid to say; I plan on making sure it's not in the hands of some business looking to rent her out as a personal workhouse. We don't need ninja starting issues we can't fix in places we can't reach. So...for your sake, I'd suggest making sure that "Seishuku" gets no more reports like these if you wanna keep custody of her."
he'd threaten firmly before tossing the folder of files onto the table. He seemed visibly disgusted with the conversation now.

The stoic man named Mr. Hinako would quietly look over at the files. His mind running endlessly as always. Then suddenly he flashed a small, but warm smile. As if to attempt to ease the doctor's concerns and grievances.

"Be it as it may. I assure you we are at least on the same page in terms of securing some safety for the patient. My hands are tied doctor. Understanding your clear issues with the situation; I'll look into making sure to take care of the matter to your liking. I appreciate the time you gave to discuss with me today." he'd then say before giving the man a formal bow.

Unamused with the politeness of the businessman, the doctor would scoff and then nod as he turned on his heels. Taking his leave out of the room, and thus leaving the suited man to his report files...

The man stared blankly at the door after it closed. Keeping himself stationary within the now silent room to recollect his thoughts from before the conversation began. Although this time he now had the information from the files at his leisure. This posed to give him more to think about.

"Suna no Shinda Shojo huh?... The kids are as cruel as ever it seems..."

[Hospital Room - #131] Patient's Quarters (Third Floor)
New Melody, New Life [Open RP] 752b5a72ba1b7185f3ee8eb76e021845

Sleep is beginning to end for Patient 01-37.

Luckily, it is still quiet. No longer noisy and confusing. The silence is- peaceful for now. As her eyes slowly begin to open; peering through the veil reveals that, the large hot orb in the sky has already snatched the darkness away from the land. She could barely see the light invading her living space through all of the veils, and from underneath the covers. It wasn't much but she could see it. That must mean it is daytime? That of which is commonly called: Morning. Or Afternoon if it is older. Realizing this put her in a sour mood, as she figured out that she woke up tomorrow. And that yesterday is yesterday. This means she'd have to go back to the academy again and be near all of those strangers. And so, came a tiny frown of disappointment upon soft lips, along with the sudden urge to not arise from underneath the covers.

    This is called- hiding.

The pillows still felt soft and gentle on her head. This was comforting to Patient 01-37 who, laying within her assigned bed. Secured in her assigned room farthest away from most of the other patients. And yet... It still was not farthest away from the weird world that she still does not understand, nor feels real in. Instead, she feels dead. As the others at the academy have proclaimed her to be. Even though the drum in her chest still beats. They must not be able to hear it. However in an effort to fight overwhelming sadness. She was at least happy to have gotten scary dreams, and instead received peaceful sleep. This is the feeling that she learned was called- gratitude.

    Gratitude.

Patient 01-37, does not understand the meaning completely, but she does at least understand how it somewhat feels. Which she believes to be good to have. At least that's what the kind boy three rooms down told her. She hopes that he is okay... In an attempt to fight the morning, 01-37 remained tucked away underneath the covers. Tightening her hold upon her trusty pillow to aid in the wish to return to sleep. She'd try very hard at this, but her body would refuse to cooperate with her wishes. Continuing to feel less heavy, and tired with each passing minute. Eventually leaving her to be completely unable to fall back asleep. At this rate, the nurse will sadly see through her attempt at hiding. And she doesn't want to make the nice nurse angry so perhaps getting up would be a better choice. As reluctant as that feels to decide.

Eventually, the lump underneath the large blanket began to grow taller. The motion simultaneously pulling the top half of the thick layers of fabric away from the headboard. Revealing a waterfall of silver blondish hair. The upright lump within the blanket now had a rough outline of a human body. Less than a couple of seconds later the thick fabrics fell and joined the rest. Finally revealing Patient 01-37...

01-37 was a teenage girl, with rich tawny brown skin. No older than about sixteen. She had a soft face with rounded cheeks and plush brown lips. No piercings were on her body. And no markings were on her skin. She also had incredibly long hair of which touched the bed she was sitting on. However, the most stand-out thing was the black blindfold that covered only her eyes.

This girl was an enigma to the shinobi world. Someone that was clearly not meant for it, and yet was thrust right into the heart of one of the Great Ninja Nations. Having to take refuge in Iwagakure's hospital until further notice. Her name is not known, and her past is of similar status. All one knows was that she should have and would have been a dead person on the side of a stay road if not for some random phenomenon that saved her life. From where that phenomenon came has yet to be solved. All that can be certain is that Patient 01-37 has a lot of ground to cover. And for those at the academy, she has no real name. Only "Dead Girl" or "Seishuku" (Quiet).

With time seemingly on her hands, the young girl slowly scooted her way to the left side of her bed. The frame hardly making a single creak as the weight barely shifted from her movements. Her left hand gently roamed the area near that side of her body and quickly located the protective bed frame. Using that as her marker, to slowly slip her legs from underneath the blanket and over the rail. Letting her body naturally tilt forward and allow her feet to touch the tiles below.

Upon contact with the ground, two different sensations ran through her body. The first: being a quick and violent chill as the cold temperature of the floor stabbed through her feet and rose through her nerves all the way up to her neck. Making her flinch and inhale sharply in discomfort. The second sensation would be vastly different but...familiar.

More so akin to a pulse. For this moment...time felt like it slowed to a near-complete halt. In that mere second, a faint wave of chakra erupted from where her feet touched the floor. Spreading outwards similar to sonar, and giving her a full after image of the room she was in within her mind space. Upon this second sensation, her body became still. Her grip on the rail tightened as she got a feel for it and the room itself. From what she could tell not a single thing has been moved since she last "seen" the room. Which means there had not been any intruders from the outside nor the hospital. Understanding this gave her a familiar feeling-

    Relief.

Post by Tadara Wed Oct 13, 2021 6:25 pm

Tadara had been going along his rounds early in the morning. He prefered just before the break of dawn's first light. Studies had shown, both his own and that of published scientists, that was the hour when the human brain became most tired. Regardless of their sleep schedule it was human nature with the ocular event due to the changing shade of dark. It had been a fascinating study and he found it fairly useful. The results were interacting with less patients as he checked on them post surgery. Allowing him the freedom to do his work without bothersome questions or meaningless conversation. He was a healer but one who cared nothing for people. For him they were all just subjects of walking data. And this data gathering could be categorized and left for one part of his mind to collect. The rest was left to consider his current situation. Some of the missions he had access to thanks to his unique connection to Chen were perhaps difficult within his own limitations. He was working on a solution of course but that left missions undone in the meantime. To keep his value he would need to accomplish something within the month.

So a solution was needed. He would pause outside of his last patients room as he stood very still. Taking back that part he had set aside for data gathering to address the how of the solution to the issue. Proving his worth was the solution to buy him time. Yet as for the moment he was not capable of doing as much as he may like. His success chances were roughly sixty five percent. Odds he was not a fan of. So he would need to add a new element entirely in order to create better odds in his favor. Change the rules to better suit him. Morally the typical mind wouldn't wander in the direction Tadaras did. However he didn't measure by the usual morales. He saw value and everyone held a number. A rating from the moment he saw them. Life boiled down to simple addition and subtraction. If his value wasn't high enough for a mission. He would need to add someone else's value to his own. His mind wandered to one particular patient. A study with no history or loved ones...but with training under her belt. Some thought her incapable but he wondered if that was inaccurate.

Tadara was a pale skinned man of average height with a thin frame. He wore black slacks over dress shoes with a buttoned in white dress shirt. No tie however with the two top buttons undone. Allowing for freedom of air passage for more efficient breathing. Over that he wore a black lab coat with his Iwagakure headband stitched into the breast pocket. He had been informed he should display his status as an active shinobi in the Iwagakure forces. The brass prefered it. It was an annoyance but only a minor inconvenience. His silver hair fell to about shoulder length with hairpins keeping it back out of his eyes. Oh those dark pits filled with nothing. His eyes seemed almost as if they absorbed light. As if there was no thought or conscious behind them. Still someone walking by would glance at his face as he lost himself to thought. They would see those eyes as if they didn't see them at all. As if the eyes of a statue. Before suddenly they snapped to attention on the passerby. Making them jump and hurry along in fright. Tadara regarded this a moment before turning to head to room #131 on the third floor.

Tadara would pause just outside the room. His dark eyes shifting to the chart by the door as he collected it. They believed her training to be cruel but the truth was she held potential. He could use this if her could use her. But he would need to determine that first. With her chart in hand he would reach up. With two knuckles he would rack them across her door. Knocking twice. He would wait to a count of five seconds before he would open the door. The average time one needed to get decent if they considered themselves otherwise. He would step into the room to regard what he could see readily. Habits she may have formed...interests...anything that could determine her goals or desires.....ways to increase her value and get her to agree to do so. Speaking as he openly studied all of this with a sway of his eyes across the room.

"Patient zero one dash three seven? I assume so as this is your room. I am a doctor here within the hospital. If you would permit me I have some questions for you this morning. Nod once if you understand and agree."

    Weight: 131 lbs.
    Hair: White/Blonde
    Eyes: Silver

    ---------------------
    Health Condtion: Fair
    Mental: Questionable
    Blood Type: AB-
    ER Patient?: Yes

    Reasoning -
    Spoiler:

The girl was found unconscious, on the side of a dirt road Southwest of the Land of Earth’s borders. She was delivered to the hospital nearly dead on arrival by the Iwagakure Jounin that found her. The patient’s clothing was tattered, and stained with blood that wasn’t only hers. Despite this, the girl only sustained moderate damage physically, but her inner chakra network was heavily strained. *(Most likely from a severe overuse of a powerful & strenuous jutsu that nearly killed her.)

The operation itself took plenty of overnight hours to keep her from being devoid of chakra and dying from exhaustion completely. Even after the operation's success in stabilizing and reinvigorating her vitals, the patient was locked in a coma for weeks before eventually waking up.

During that time an extensive, investigation took place to determine where she could have possibly come from. Possibly a Suna native. It doesn’t help that since awakening, Patient 01-37 has been reluctant to be responsive to most attempts to communicate with her. And clearly suffers from Amnesia & PTSD from whatever happened to her before she was saved. No signs of violent outbursts thus far.

Reports dictate that the location where the patient was found looked to be the aftermath of a gruesome fight between shinobi and human traffickers of some kind. However, the most peculiar bit if that the girl is not a shinobi, and her origins are still unsure. And yet the evidence is clear that she was the only human there that was still in relatively savable condition. All of the other bodies are far beyond just dead.

Autopsy reports dictate that their minds have been completely shredded as if torn apart by some sort of mental monster-like creature capable of inflicting physical harm. Like a quasi-real Genjutsu. The only clue hinting towards that being the deep claw-like lacerations all over their bodies. I should note that, the attacks were not initially fatal for a few. And the only one without such markings was the patient. Upon the twenty-five bodies found on that road, five of them killed themselves with their own weapons around the same spot.

This is why I deduce they were slain by a Genjutsu of some sort. They were desperate to die before whatever it was took hold of them. Evidence shows however that there were no animals in the area if for whatever reason we need to believe that whoever this girl is, isn’t the culprit behind all of these deaths. Although obviously in self-defense. Still a teenage girl that isn’t a shinobi being in the possession of such a terrifyingly mysterious jutsu? I don’t think I need to say she could be quite a hazard if left unchecked. So until further notice, I’ll be making sure she is kept here at the hospital and won’t be allowed to go anywhere without supervision.
    -Dr Sasaki Aikawa

    Additional Notes:
    Spoiler:

    * Latest physical sessions have yielded some interesting results! It seems that the patient possesses unnatural capabilities with two of her five senses. Specifically her sight and hearing. Dr Aikawa has been running tests to dictate her motor skills, but the attack she survived seemed to have severely hindered such abilities. Training to recover this has been cleared.

*Our tests have revealed that despite her ability to hear things that most can’t, her eyes are vulnerable to flashing and bright light sources. To prevent harming the patient we will keep the lights in her room exceptionally dim. And she will have to have her blindfold with her at all times.

*Tests point towards full chakra recovery, but her skill with it will need some more encouragement if we are to learn anything about what she was once capable of.

    * Her name has yet to be given, and thus the patient will continue to be referred to by her numeric I.D. 01-37.

    * Despite our requests for more testing, Patient 01-37 has already been enrolled in the Ninja Academy. Her first class starts next week. To circumvent this we will be focusing on therapy-only sessions for a while.

    * A generous donation from Mr Hinoki has come in today. It seems that somehow he has found out about the operations here. While the money will be most useful, I can’t say that I am too thrilled that our honest work here is now getting tainted by corporate curiosity. I have no doubts once we figure out what the girl is hiding from us, she’ll be bought off as a shinobi for hire. Maybe if we buy sometime we can convince the investors to look the other way, and we can get back to our work in peace.

    * To ensure maximum security Patient 01-37 is scheduled to be moved and assigned to Hospital Bedroom #131 as their living quarters, on Monday October 4th. Only sanctioned personnel will be allowed to see or work with the patient from now on.

New Melody, New Life [Open RP] Empty Re: New Melody, New Life [Open RP]

Post by Yuuki Nakajima Fri Oct 15, 2021 12:09 am

01-37's toes gently wiggled as her feet remained on the tiles. The chilling cold still discomforting, but not as distracting as some of the other things that have bothered her lately. With one push from her arms, she'd manage to slip herself off of the bed and stand up completely. For that moment she stood there readjusting to her surroundings. Her head panning from left to right slowly as she sensed the furniture and structures nearby. Her breathing falling into almost completely still cycles. This quiet little room was her home now. She understood that much, and yet... Knowing this to be truly brought an unnerving chill.

Her arms slowly rose and hugged around her torso just below her breasts. Tightening as she attempted to envision that she was being comforted. By whom she didn't have the imagination to create at the moment. Because despite how hard she tried, she couldn't shake away the reality. Nobody was truly there. She was alone. In a place that is unfamiliar, and even if it is not like those dark and evil places she was forced to live through before. She still couldn't bring herself to trust the area nor its people. However, even if that was her conviction. She still doesn't have a choice.

The dark-skinned girl sighed softly as she came to that conclusion. Deciding that being hopeful wasn't going to be of any use. Her level of understanding was far too low to be able to fight her situation anyway. So instead of sulking, she'd move on. Her arms now falling back to her sides. Besides...in any case, today might be a better day. Maybe she could finally go visit the gardens? Or get to listen to some music? Or finally, get to explore beyond the hospital grounds? Or-
    -Knock! knock!-

The sudden noise startled her so much she tripped and fell awkwardly on the bed. Her barrings now all scrambled as she of course wasn't expecting any visitors at all, let alone so soon! That's not fair! It was too soon for more tests. More questions! She hated questions. There were too many questions that she doesn't know how to answer! Why is the hospital more school than school?! Patient 01-37 scowled and whined as she shook her head in disapproval. This was a big wall. No... a tall and big wall. She wanted to tell them to shoo. To leave her alone. But...her mouth was closed tight. Too scared to speak. Not sure if whoever was behind that door was a good or bad person. By the time she could even think of anything, it was too late. The sound of the knob turning the tumblers was evidence of that.

At that moment, her body froze as she sat upright on the bed. With the one foot she had on the floor she could feel the waves of sound and pressure change. With her blindfold on everything was dark. Her mental sonar readjusting the very moment he took his very first step into the room with the door open. As the sonar scanned over the surroundings again they get an outline of his body in her mental headspace. His general look now imprinted in her mind, but the finer details would remain only a black silhouette at best. But even before he spoke it was clear to her that he was not Dr. Aikawa. This was someone new...

    [1:00 PM]

As the man enters the room he would be able to find that the lighting was exceptionally dimmer most would deem necessary. As for the patient, she was in plain sight. White-blondish hair and all. She was only wearing the nightgown that the hospital gave to her during ER operation, however, she would luckily be facing in his direction already. Although her body language giving off a sense of uncertainty of what to expect from him. As because of this she was doing her best to be on guard first. So, despite her timidness, she was stalking his movements. The millisecond lag in responses revealed that clearly, she couldn't see him physically, but the way she watched him enter the room hinted that could "see" him in an entirely different way. 01-37 didn't say a single word, nor did she budge. Just watching... Waiting...

As he spoke she listened. Taking in every syllable of every word until he was done. Once certain he said what he wanted, she would comply with his orders. Nodding her head as instructed.

Post by Tadara Sat Oct 16, 2021 11:02 am

Tadara would continue to observe a moment as he found it odd. That though she could not see him directly she seemed to track his movements as if she could. An interesting ability. This hinted at some form of advanced senses of either hearing or smell. More likely hearing as it would be more accurate towards his movements. However there was another possibility. Sensory nin were something he was vaguely familiar with. After all they safeguarded most villages and tormented those straying outside the law. On any stealth mission they would be his bane. Still he wondered how to test this. She would nod of course and he noted that she not only could understand him but she could respond as instructed. She may not be able to speak but there was a premise for communication. He would need to control that somehow if he intended to utilize her fully.

However first order of business. He wished to test this ability to track him without sight. So quietly he would reach into his pocket. Locating a spare pen. He would glance at the roofing. Soft tile. Good. His black eyes would watch her as he continued to walk into the room. At D tier coordination he would let his hand fly upwards three times but only allow the pen to go on the third. Letting it quietly slide into the soft tile above. This was part one of the test. The tile he had chosen was above her. He would see if she noted where the pen actually went or if she tried to track all three. The second part was the pen was too heavy to support its own weight from where it was embedded. In a couple of seconds it would fall harmlessly to her bed near her.

Whether she avoided it, didn't notice it coming or caught it would tell him a lot. The type of person she was when confronted with a sudden situation and if she could perceive inanimate objects. This was the issue with most chakra sensory. Still while he waited for the pen to drop he would settle at a chair nearby. In front of a dest for her studies. She was enrolled at the academy after all. He would take note of anything on the desk. Before turning the chair around and settling into it. Folding his left leg over his right as he glanced over the clipboard. Speaking as only a few seconds had passed.

"It says here you originate from Suna. It appears something traumatic happened there for you. Yet you escaped with what appears to be minor injuries in comparison to the others. To be clear I am the lead surgeon that took part in reviving your chakra system. So I have a unique interest in you. Where you were located a great deal of death was as well. Leaving you the only one unmarked by it. Its suggested it was a genjutsu. I am sure the academy has already gone over what the basic categories are of your studies so you should know what genjutsu is. Combined with the condition your chakra system was in I have a theory. Something out there set you off. You expelled chakra out of your control and damaged your chakra system in the process. The result was a very rare type of genjutsu that laid waste to everything around you. Outside of your control. So I would like to run a couple of lesser genjutsu tests with you. To see if you can use the specialization. Do not fret I can escape them."

As he finished the pen would drop. Black eyes watching.

New Melody, New Life [Open RP] Empty Re: New Melody, New Life [Open RP]

Post by Yuuki Nakajima Sun Oct 24, 2021 8:38 am

01-37's auditory system began to open up, as her body adjusted to the actions unfolding around her. And with that came a faint tingle in her nerves as certain characteristics of the situation presented themselves. The girl in a fraction of a second became rather attentive to the whereabouts of the man in her hospital room. As he walked her ears twitched as the sounds of his footsteps faded. Drawing her attention towards other distinct details about the motions he made. The doctor had a very authority and quiet presence about him. Which enticed her body to stay somewhat on alert purely because of the way he moved. The mental imagery of her surroundings now slightly blurred as she focused on the man in particular. Her head still slightly followed him as if she could see him with her own eyes behind the blindfold. Her mind space quickly outlined the silhouette of his form, and clothing as the vibrations came back to her. With white outlines displayed over a canvas of pure black. She could "see" the general details of his body moving. Even the slight details of his arm bending and moving to put his hand in a pocket of some kind. Only to come out just a moment later.

By this point, she was sensually captivated and curious about where this was leading. Instinctively in search for answers as to what this doctor was going to do next. For her, it was like predicting what the future might be, in order to keep up with the present as a normal person. Her current level of perception allowed for fine-tuning and focus far beyond the average human. And yet nothing seemed to fully capture her attention until she felt faint ripples of something moving through the air. Her body language made her awareness of this obvious. Her hearing was keen enough to recognize that something happened just then. However with everything was had happened leading up to this, Patient 01-37 was noticeably perplexed in a possible course of action. What should she focus on? The doctor? Or the random sound she just heard? These decisions were making her body tingle and put her on edge in terms of making a choice.

Alas before that decision could be made, the doctor began to speak which reclaimed her attention and drove her of course and away from the pen that was now lodged into the ceiling tile above her. Her head was now pointed in his direction, and from here she'd finally notice that he was now sitting at the desk in her room which she hadn't initially noticed. The desk didn't have anything on it other than a small dark green notebook, and a cup full of sharpened pencils. As the man talked Patient 01-37, sat very still on the bed as she listened to his words. She didn't seem too comfortable to be talking about reports, and medical-based things again. However, despite this, she remained quiet anyway. Although upon the mention of Genjutsu she tilted her head to the side and "stared" at him. The word itself did feel familiar due to the academy...but she was nowhere capable of truly figuring out why. She didn't pay attention to anything going on regarding this stuff.

Gen...jutsu... she repeated slowly in her mind. Hardly able to pronounce the word in full as of yet.

It stands to reason that with her lack of comprehension of such things, everything else he went on to say was just as fuzzy for her. She just couldn't keep up with it all. So by the time he stopped talking she just looked completely out of the loop on what he was even talking about in the first place. But before she could make that clear, her senses ignited a strong feeling all over her body; causing her to inhale sharply. The startling sensation now, making her become alert once more. Before her thoughts could even register why she felt the need to act instead. In a split second her left hand shot up and rose above her. Allowing her to miraculously catch the falling pen that threatened to land on her head. However, after this happened 01-37 seemed confused by this course of action. As if she didn't even know why her body moved in the first place. Which was made obvious once she slowly brought her left hand clasping onto the pen in front of her face. Analyzing it with her fingers before, she would then slowly look up at the tile above her with body language that only showed she was confused. As if wondering where the pen even came from, to begin with...

Tadara would watch quietly as she seemed to follow his movements and focus on him. He noted the brief attention to the thrown pen. She seemed to have an acute set of senses for someone wearing a blindfold. Still she appeared nonresponsive to him verbally. She understood but she did not speak. He would note these things even as she listened to him before the pen would drop. Without looking her hand would snap upwards and snag the pen out of the air. So she was aware of things around her outside of her ability to perceive living objects. Inanimate objects also were within her purview and her hand coordination regarding them was above average as well. With training this would be highly useful for an assassin. If she was a sensory type that could sense all objects within a room...when honed it would be useful to see into a room they otherwise would have no access to without entering. If nothing else he could utilize her sensory to his needs. However the interest for the moment was already onto the next test. He would pay little mind to the pen unless she seemed intent on using it against him.

"Reflexes are above average and sensory abilities could be labeled as extraordinary. For now we are going to practice the most basic of genjutsu. I will be your target for this. Focus your chakra as this will utilize it as well two hand signs. The first is the snake hand sign. Often this sign is associated with earth and lightning affiliated techniques. It is a simple one where you interlace your fingers with your left thumb on the outside. Next is the Rat sign. Raise your left hand with only the middle and index fingers pointing straight up. Wrap your other hand with the fingers around those two fingers with both thumbs outside of the grip. Like this."

Tadara would set the chart down on the desk and very slowly he would do the snake sign and then the rat sign. Careful not to focus any chakra into either. Showing a slow transition between the two. He would repeat this slowly and clearly three times. Before continuing on with his lesson.

"Focus your chakra into the symbols you create and on me. Once you finish the rat sign, envision pushing that chakra towards me. A small amount for now but you will have to hold the connection. It will take a moment for it to take effect. That said this trigger only requires a clear line of sight. A target doesn't specifically have to see you. Or perceive you in any way. Practice transitioning between the signs and when you are ready cast it on me. This will determine if you have any capabilities with genjutsu."
