Act 1, Awaken Anew My Child
[Room - #004] Office Sector
For one such person, these preparations mainly involve the arrangement of organizing a whole new life. One that will be vastly different, and even more challenging than the first. Almost as if being reborn completely.
"Um,...yes sir. I have the files right here. Although if I may; I'd like to look into a bump up in therapeutic sessions with the patient to see if there are more things we need to discover and diagnose. Honestly, these reports are terrible and morally worrying." another male voice answered back. Although he seemed a little tired when speaking.
"Morally worrying?..." the stoic man repeated out loud. Afterward, the man's head would turn towards the left to look over his shoulder. A hint of green hue from his eyes piercing through a medium-sized conference room. His sharp but harmless gaze aimed towards the doctor on the other side of the office room with files in his hands.
"Were there reports of violent outbursts?" the man inquired only after a minimal pause.
"Suna no shinda shōjo has yet to find life then." the man would then say softly as if thinking out loud.
"E-xcuse me sir?!" the doctor exclaimed a little puzzled.
"Dead Girl from the Sand. It's what some of her classmates have been calling her for the past week." he'd then clarify instinctively.
"Wow...that's just terrible..." the doctor would say clearly taken aback by this information.
"Well, it's certainly not the warmest welcome to a newcomer in the shinobi world." The man added with a slight chuckle.
"Although I suppose I should add that some of the other students have only resorted to calling her: "Seishuku". I believe that is a far less...harrowing progression of a nickname."
"Well I would like to think considering the first as a viable option for a living being isn't even worthy of an afterthought. But I digress." the doctor added in firmly.
"No need to get emotionally semantic doctor; I was merely stating an observation about the patient's grave development within the community. Clearly, she has yet to...evolve and fit in with their new life."
"Yes well, perhaps inducting them into the academy so soon, was a mistake like myself and the other doctors feared. Almost 87% of the total reports are entirely negative responses and notes from the instructors. The other remaining portion is a combined amalgamation of over-exaggerated and fraudulent reports from the students trying to impersonate their teachers. In short... there isn't much faith in the girl's status within the academy lasting very long sir." the doctor then stated in an attempt to move on, and add more to the topic of the conversation.
"Yes yes, I know. Although how could there be? The girl is emotionally unresponsive and practically a volunteer mute. She may have potential, but her social skills have seemingly all but decayed after being in a coma for so long. Quite a stark contrast from their previous self from what I've heard..." the man retorted.
"Still; that doesn't discourage me from looking into seeing how she can develop into a fine and respectable shinobi. I wouldn't want it to be so soon either given her condition, but someone her age should have been trained much earlier than now. So we don't have much time to wait. Besides...her old life isn't recoverable by any means. This is her best option as far as I see it." he'd then mention.
"Mr. Hinako... I don't want to press into personal business between you and the village. But I am seriously worried about this girl's mental health. 01-37 barely got past the clearance of being allowed to roam the hospital grounds with a nurse escort.
And yet this teenage girl is now apparently being inducted into a grueling ninja academy in one of the Five Great Ninja Nations? I am not only highly concerned about the effects they can and will cause to her mental state. But also suspicious about the intentions behind such ridiculous decisions.
There are hardly any positives from someone in Patient 01-37's condition doing something like this. Bad things could come from being exposed to such a harsh social environment after surviving such traumatizing events." the doctor lectured, eventually stepping around the table to approach the man. Only stopping a couple of feet away from him, although now having to look up to keep eye contact.
"Look, I'm just a doctor doing my job right? So let me share something..." he'd say with a momentary pause.
"Being the medical professional here. I'd like to note that this whole operation you are doing, would be hard to pass even for a person who was already trained in chakra and has a normal background in shinobi tactics and lifestyles. But since this is a formerly civilian person. The idea itself has now reached damn near impossibly impossible territory chances of beneficial success.
I also know how you business types are when it comes to moving the goal post around and trying to redefine what passes as a good risk and reward so I'll cut my lecture short by saying this...
I can't see what you are attempting to do as being anything less than unnecessary human experimentation on the behalf of corporate ingenuity. So as assistant to the head of the medical operations for Patient 01-37, I get to help decide when and where she goes after her time here expires.
And you best believe that I am not afraid to say; I plan on making sure it's not in the hands of some business looking to rent her out as a personal workhouse. We don't need ninja starting issues we can't fix in places we can't reach. So...for your sake, I'd suggest making sure that "Seishuku" gets no more reports like these if you wanna keep custody of her." he'd threaten firmly before tossing the folder of files onto the table. He seemed visibly disgusted with the conversation now.
The stoic man named Mr. Hinako would quietly look over at the files. His mind running endlessly as always. Then suddenly he flashed a small, but warm smile. As if to attempt to ease the doctor's concerns and grievances.
"Be it as it may. I assure you we are at least on the same page in terms of securing some safety for the patient. My hands are tied doctor. Understanding your clear issues with the situation; I'll look into making sure to take care of the matter to your liking. I appreciate the time you gave to discuss with me today." he'd then say before giving the man a formal bow.
Unamused with the politeness of the businessman, the doctor would scoff and then nod as he turned on his heels. Taking his leave out of the room, and thus leaving the suited man to his report files...
The man stared blankly at the door after it closed. Keeping himself stationary within the now silent room to recollect his thoughts from before the conversation began. Although this time he now had the information from the files at his leisure. This posed to give him more to think about.
"Suna no Shinda Shojo huh?... The kids are as cruel as ever it seems..."
