Guard duty for a day.

The silence of the forest was the only response to Suguru’s cry of revenge and anger over his torn shirt.

He looked around, trying to find the shinobi who had torn his favorite shirt, yet alas, there was no sign of them.

Stewing in anger, Suguru realized that he had no idea what to do next.

The cool hero always shouted at the sky as he swore revenged when he was wronged, but they never show how awkward the aftermath is in the manga.

“Any help?” Suguru asked the voice in his head, yet strangely, it did not respond. Not like it to stay silent.

Yet before he could prod the voice in his head any further, a branch snapped behind him and as he turned, the genin found himself facing his ally; Drakon, who had just rushed in and hoisted the enemy shinobi by their throat single handedly.

“Oh…wow Drakon, thanks for having my back.” Suguru began, relived that revenge was had, even though not by his hand.

“Umm, how long have you been there?” Suguru asked quizzically.

Did he see him fight the other shinobi when the voice was in control? Suguru hoped not, because who knows what might happen if the higher ups figured out he had a voice in his head that could make him do freaky shit.

And the only other option would be to fight Drakon, who’s cool display of his shinobi abilities meant Suguru had no chance of winning.

“Sure thing Drakon." Suguru responded when Drakon suggested they head back.

"I have to ask though, how did you manage to spot the invisible cunt?” The genin was quite curious on how he managed to track down the invisible shinobi, since Drakon's eyes seemed to be normal and he didn't use any jutsu as far as he could see.

Once the bandit had been dealt with suguru had thanked drakon and had asked him how long had he been there. Drakon had been there for the whole fight but he would fib and tell him differently. " how long, just long enough to save your ass and your welcome." Drakon said as he lit up a cigarette as he watched the tip ember red as it slowly shrunk. He blew out the smoke into the air as they was walking back towards the main gate.

While they was walking back drakon was asked by suguru how he was able to see the ninja. It's true that drakon had no special ability like the hyuga or uchiha clans but his only gift was being a senser type. " I didn't see him with my eyes I was able to sense out his chakra and his need for blood. See I'm a sensory type ninja so I was able to locate him that way." Drakon said as he finished off his cigarette.

The two ninja was now back at the main gate where there chunin command officer was. " good job out there you two you handled your selfs like true shinobi of the leaf. You can both go home for the day if you want or what ever." Drakon was not gonna pass this up cause all this work was just a drag.

" well suguru it was nice doing this mission with ya, hope to see ya around." With that zenaku would head off towards his place to get some rest and recharge his chakra he lost in this battle.

Suguru stood silent for a moment, processing Drakon's answer.

How could one man be so cool? His perfect response, the flick of the cigarette over the crook of his lips, the carefree attitude despite completely demolishing every foe he faced without breaking a single bead of sweat.

The genin felt first a pang of jealousy, since all the girls would probably flock to Drakon rather than a washed-up loser like him. Yet, he stopped the green monster from growing in his breast and smiled.

"You really are one cool bloke, Drakon." Suguru replied. He was not lying.

Building bonds of brotherhood with his fellow shinobi was both insanely cool as all the manga protagonists were motivated by that and love, and it was his only way of making friends. And having a cool friend like Drakon could easily meant that any girl that came for Drakon but found his hands full had another shinobi right there to rest her breasts against.

A sensory type shinobi? Suguru racked his brain to try and remember the few lessons he had not slept through or spent trying to peek under a gal's skirt to remember how that work. The way Drakon described it, it was like some kind of sixth sense, being able to feel things that are not felt by the other normal senses.

Was the voice in his head the same thing? And more importantly, was he able to interact with these things? Imagine the ability to look up skirts and down shirts of busty women.

The young genin found himself thinking of the possibilities, the train of thought taking him far. A question formed on his lips yet, before he knew it, the duo were in front of the Chunnin leader.

Praise left his lips that congratulated both, yet Hibiki's eyes were on Drakon.

Suguru didn't mind. Better the attention on him than on what Suguru had done.

"Hope to see you around too Drakon, maybe we can hang out or something." Suguru managed to say, yet only after the other genin had begun walking. If he heard him or not, he did not know.

And once again, Suguru found himself alone, with his thoughts and what brief happiness he felt to be out of danger was replaced with the familiar weight of the sad loneliness.
