The Siege II

Having been deceived into striking the wrong village was an embarrassment that needed to be corrected. But it still served Ashitaka's intended purpose of flooding Kumo with refugees from their vassal state. That said, he would not easily forgive the ninja who had chosen their petty grievances against him over the success of their shared mission. And they still had a job to do. The hidden village was no more protected than the public one, and given that no new traps had been established since the raid on Karakura, the assault on Yugakure didn't incur any more casualties for their side. Given that it was the Senju's role to actually destroy the relevant buildings, the assault squads' priority lie in evacuating the civilians. The village's market and administrative district were obliterated in seconds by a wave of esoteric seizure of their structural integrity by the boy's chakra. He struck like a natural disaster, demolishing the town in swathes that only his precise control over the process allowed the civilian process to escape. Once his mission was complete, he went against his principles, pulled rank and ordered the ninja accompanying him to venture into the Land of Frost to scour it for the Hidden Village there. The punishment for their pettiness and incompetence was to go the extra mile (literally) and bring back the location of Kumo's other nearby colony. His punishment for allowing himself to be duped by his subordinates would be catching heat from the Hokage for nearly botching the mission.
