Ya gotta love bandits don’t you? Not really, but they sure did all seem to keep trying to same stupid shit over and over again. It’s like they never learned not to fuck with the people of the land of lightning. This mission involved going to pay some bandits who were blockading a major road a ‘visit’. What Tamwyn didn’t understand was why these idiots thought setting up in the middle of a major road was a good idea. It’s not like they actually had a chance in hell of actually succeeding in their endeavors. Of course this group had had more luck than most, succeeding in taking a few hauls so far. Still, this wasn’t about to end well for them. He ran through the trees in the dead of night, using the campfire of the bandits to guide them. Usually Yenn would be the scout for something like this, but even he could follow the beacon that was a campfire in a forest. It could be seen for miles for god's sake.

He moved quietly, keeping his pace slow so his partner could keep up. The beautiful raven haired woman was never far from him nowadays and he found he quite liked her everyday presence. One might say he simply didn’t feel complete without her near him. As they came closer to the camp they would be able to make out talking. Tamwyn would take a moment and lob a quiet kunai at the single sentry he saw, the man wasn’t far away and the knife took him quietly in the throat and before the man could even hit the floor the pale haired Chunin was there, catching his form, covering the man’s mouth and setting him quietly onto the ground as the last vestiges of life left his eyes. Once the glazed look came upon him he turned and moved back toward Yenn, putting his lips right up against her ears, his voice barely a whisper. “One of us distracts, while the other eliminates, which job do you want?” He would ask, giving her the option. She had taken out the Yakuza goons in a prior mission splendidly, but this was a kill mission and while he felt it was important for her to make her first kill soon, he didn’t think it was necessary quite yet. She had time, and so for now, she would have the choice. His yellow eyes would look into his violet ones, silently telling that he supported whichever decision she made and radiating a contented love for the woman that he had yet to be able to put into words.

Yenn ran through the woods along with Tamwyn, grateful for him slowing down so she could keep up. He was always considerate in ways like that, and over time she was growing more comfortable with the idea that he would always be there for her. Her heart had wanted to believe it all along, but her past had stopped her just short of total trust. For a time. As they ran towards the bonfire that practically screamed ‘hey we’re the bandits and we don’t understand the physics of light, please come murder us’ Yenn realized that at some point she had begun to trust him completely. There was no fear or reservation, not even a sliver of doubt. It was a wonderful feeling, even if it was still strange and new.

She watched as Tamwyn pulled out a kunai and silently killed a lone bandit, lowering him carefully to the ground. For her part she stood with one arm braced against a tree, struggling to keep her breathing under control. As he made his way back to her side and asked which job she wanted she gave her answer without a second though. “Distraction. Thank you.” She would smile weakly as she moved away from him to approach the camp from a different angle. She had no plan, other than walking out into the middle of a bandit camp and trusting that Tamwyn wouldn’t let anything happen to her. Once she had circled the camp quietly for a bit she would walk normally out into the area the bandits had cleared, blinking against the firelight. “Good evening everyone. This is uh. . . nice. . . weather?” She would proclaim her awkward greeting loudly, hoping to gather the attention of everyone present.

Nodding at her decision he would wait for her distraction and come it did. The yellow eyed man would chuckle to himself as she simply walked into their camp and greeted them as if it were a normal spring afternoon and she’d run into them at the market. Of course, the bandits eyesight would be completely wrecked as they looked toward her and their vision, needing to adjust due to staring into the fire, betrayed them. They could hear her, but they didn’t have the senses acute enough to really see where she was exactly, just her general direction. Of course being the pigs they are they just head an attractive female voice and start asking if she wanted to ‘have a good time’. Tamwyn of course had objections to those offers, and he made it quite well known….Violently.

Moving behind them, he would simply raise his hand and fire off a single condensed bolt of lightning. The lightning bolt would strike the first man, and fry a hole through his chest before arcing over to the next man, who would have a similar fate, only who was quite a bit shorter than the first and found his head gone. The third man would feel himself stiffen and fall into the fire, his entire body locking from the electricity discharge going through him. The fourth would have his heart stop from the voltage going through him and the fifth would get a minor ‘zap’ before realizing that multiple of his allies were now dead. He would turn toward Tamwyn, who hadn’t stopped walking into the camp and was now stepping toward the man. His hand would reach out, and effortlessly crush the man’s throat without even missing a step as he walked toward Yenn and stood in front of her, his form completely clean and him not even breathing hard from the chakra usage. He blinked at her, yellow eyes alight in the night before reaching for her chin and tilting her head up toward him, if it wasn’t already. “Good distraction, but know that at some point, you’re going to have to kill. I don’t like the idea of you doing it much either. I’m used to it, but it’s better for you to have done so in a controlled environment than have to deal with it when you’re not expecting it.” He would say softly, his eyes looking deeply into her stunning violet eyes. Then he would nod his head toward home, the man in the fire had kicked up enough dirt to put it out before keeling over. “Let’s go.” He would say, before giving her a quick kiss and leading her home.

Her distraction was a success. Because of course it was. Best way to be distracting was apparently to be a female and walk into a camp. She would frown as the rude bandits essentially ‘cat called’ her, but they were quickly and violently silenced. Fortunately she didn’t have to watch most of the violence, since the campfire was just as good at blinding her as it had been the bandits. As usual she would just stand there and try not to get dead while Tamwyn killed everyone. When the smell of lightning burnt flesh reached her though, her stomach decided that she needed to break her one mission streak and she would move over to a nearby tree and silently curse the world. She had been so pleased that their last mission had been illness free and now here she was, leaning against a tree. Again.

Once she heard the last of the bandits hit the ground and saw the light from the campfire sputter out she would turn in the direction of Tamwyn. As his hand raised her chin so that she was looking up at him she would nod sadly. She knew what he was saying was correct. She was a shinobi after all and it was her actual job to kill people. She’d just managed to avoid it all this time, and now she felt guilty. “Next time we have a mission to kill, I’ll do it. I promise.” She thought she meant it, she knew she wasn’t happy about the prospect of actually killing a person. Even if the village had decided that said person needed to die. But he had a point, if the time ever came where killing was necessary but she hadn’t been expecting it, what would she do? Would she freeze? And would that mean that someone that wasn’t supposed to be hurt, would be? She didn’t like the thought of it and moved closer to Tamwyn as they made their way home, finding her troubling thoughts easier to bear with him next to her.
