Unique Abilities:
One-handed Seals - Shigeru has taught himself how to weave handseals with a single hand, however doing so is more difficult than the regular two-handed versions. For the purposes of weaving seals, Shigeru suffers a -1 tier debuff to Coordination while weaving one-handed.
Stoneskin - A combination of a frame of mind and hardening his body through earth chakra, Shigeru heightens his tolerance for punishment, but becomes much slower in the process. While active, increases Constitution by 1 rank, but lowers Speed by the same. Costs 5 CP to toggle on/off.
Appearance: Shigeru has a lanky physique, being on the taller side with a thinner build, with black hair kept in a short style. He favours the long jackets and dark glasses of his clan style, partially to hide his bugs and partially because he likes the mystery they create. When not obscured, his eyes are revealed to be a brown colour.
Shigeru's outfits tend to have subdued, darker colour themes. He particularly likes wearing a black hooded coat, its edges lined with fur. His regular outfit consists of said coat, paired with a simple black v-neck top and dark pants, a pair of dark glasses completing the look.
History: Shigeru's upbringing in the clan could be considered relatively average - by Aburame standards, at least. Raised by his parents, he was taken through the clan techniques and became a host to the kikaichū.
Shigeru took an interest in sealing, and so was brought into further calligraphy lessons alongside another interested in the art, Aburame Riku. Being similar in age, the two boys quickly bonded, their mutual interest in fūinjutsu providing the spark that lead to friendship.
Eventually, Shigeru enrolled into the shinobi academy. While there, he managed to fall into the antics of Nara Riku. At first content to watch him cause mischief, he found himself wanting to get more and more involved. Nevertheless, the Aburame boy managed to pass the Genin exams, becoming a fully fledged shinobi.
Personality: Shigeru tends to adopt an 'audience' point of view in life, content to observe things rather than being an obvious participant. His newfound friendship with Riku has taught him the joys of making his own fun, eager to be wrapped up in the other boy's hare-brained machinations. His attitude to life is inspired partially by the constant life and death cycle he sees his insects go through, leading him to be somewhat desensitised to things.
Being an Aburame, Shigeru takes an interest in insects and other little creepy-crawlies. This interest extends to other often overlooked things, meaning he is more likely to watch an underdog than an overwhelming force.
Roleplay Sample: Shigeru had a craving, that only ramen could satisfy. Stolling into the restaurant, the Aburame's grin grows slightly wider at the odd looks some of the patrons tried not to give him.
Admittedly, he did have somewhere to be; the cocoon stored delicately in a small box on his person was testament to that. Shigeru was delivering a bikōchū, a particularly troublesome insect. It had incredible olfactory and tracking powers… that could only be used on a single scent. Whatever it first smelt upon metamorphosis into an adult was stored in its memory for the rest of its life - why it behaved like this the Aburame boy was uncertain of, but theorised that it was some way of knowing how to get back home, or recognising the scent of prey (presumably it could only store one due to its simple insect brain). The part that truly mattered, of course, was that it did exist, and was immensely useful for tracking purposes.
Shigeru had been told this bikōchū wasn't due to awaken until tomorrow, though this was hardly a hard and fast time. Still, he likely had plenty of time to enjoy a piping hot bowl of ramen before getting back to his delivery. Or so he thought, at least.
Halfway through his meal, a bug comes skittering across the table towards him. Despite numerous impassioned 'shoo's directed at the little thing, it still continues its march towards his ramen… which is when Shigeru finally registers what it is.
“Oh, I am so screwed,” the boy bemoans, lifting his ramen bowl up and away from the bikōchū. Finally getting the message, the bug takes off, sniffing out a new source of ramen-smell. As he pulls out the box, it becomes apparent that such a loose lid was not an appropriate way to hold such a creature. Torn between his delicious meal and getting this bug back, Shigeru puts a small amount of ramen in the box before approaching, trying to lure it back.
