    The Epsilon Eventuality

"I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now." - Vinge Kurama

    Background & Belligerents

In the Last of Frost, a splinter group of the Kurama clan that didn't travel to Kumogakure have managed to find Ancient Scrolls made by their Ancestors over the many nomadic years of the clans lifespan. Now, while some feel that the scrolls should be brought to the main clan for safekeeping, many others feel like their splinter clan is the new main clan, and want to take the scrolls for themselves. As such, war has broke out in the Land of Frost in perhaps the worst area for any Ninja: The Epsilon Range, an area of mountains and tunnels known for their powerful genjutsu effects.

Due to the many splinters, it has become an all-out battle for who holds the scrolls, and said scrolls often are changing hands rapidly, leaving the defenders and attackers to be constantly up in the air. Three major factions have popped up during all of this: The Black Hand, The Foehn Union, and the Tsukumogami. The Black hand believe in using the scrolls to recreate effects similar to the sharingan's Izanagi in both offensive & defensive ways, the Fohen Union wants use the scrolls to properly unite the body & minds of the Kurama's bloodline in a manner similar to a jinchuriki, and the Tsukumogami aim to use the scrolls to awaken the minds of objects, similar to Samehada. In order to achieve their goals these splinters clans have hired outside help to try and win this many-sided stalemate. Each village, and even Missing-Nin have a big incentive for helping out as it may decide where the Kurama's next seat of power may be, or at the very least some new jutsu thought to be lost to time.

    Special Reward

The faction that wins this Theater of War will receive access to The Ancestral Scrolls of the Kuama, a set of Kurama-themed Exclusive Genjutsu techniques that anyone can learn, regardless of whether or not the user has the relevant skill(s).

In the case of a tie, the final mission will act as the tiebreaker. If this doesn't decide who the victor is, then the a simple 7th mission to fight for the scrolls with no background genjutsu effects will be created.

Victory is declared when all but 1 side is incapacitated. If the Mole dies, the point will be given to the victor of the final mission.

Maximum Number of Participants: 2 or 3 (1 for each faction)

Maximum Number of Participants: 2 or 3 (1 for each faction)

    Analysis Anarchy:

You're job is to capture him, preferably alive. Know however that you won't be the only one hunting him down. But beware, the man is a skilled user of Kyujutsu and Taijutsu, and his arrows are particularly nasty. Victory is declared when all but 1 side is incapacitated. If all teams are incapacitated, the point will be given to the victor of the final mission.
NOTE: The genjutsu this area of the range gives off has a permanent afterimage effect, similar to the Clone Technique.

Go either retrieve the cargo or destroy it, but watch out for others who'll try to help their own faction as well as the guards trying to protect the cargo. Victory is declared when all but 1 side is incapacitated. If, by some miracle all sides are knocked out, the point will be given to the victor of the final mission.
NOTE: Genjutsu is amplified here, being treated as if the user has a +1 Tier UB to intelligence as well as a rank higher for the purposes of breaking out of it. This includes Dojutsu Genjutsu.
Payment: 100,000 | Additional 50,000 if cargo is not destroyed
Maximum Number of Participants: 2 or 3 (1 for each faction)

All other missions must be completed before this one can be taken.
    Creative Thinking:

    Mission Name: Creative Thinking
    Mission Rank: S
Theater of War: The Epsilon Eventuality
    Relevant Plot NPCs Hoki Kurama
Mission Goal: Kill Hoki Kurama, get the scrolls, and don't go insane.
Description: The splinter factions have shrunk down, leaving very few remaining and they're all gunning for the final spot the Scrolls could have been left at: Rhan's Cavern, the cave where all Kurama go if they wish to become head of the clan. Hoki Kurama was last heard to have traveled there, and if rumors are correct he intends to destroy the scrolls to end the war. Orders have come down and one thing has been made clear: Hoki must be killed, and the scrolls retrieved. Each Splinter has made 1 final attempt to gain shinobi from their land to get the scrolls, but be warned; those who enter the caverns often leave with their mind's changed, and not often for the better. Victory is declared when all but 1 side is incapacitated. If all sides are incapacitated, the point will be awarded to the last faction that was standing, but no ryo will be given.

DISCLAIMER: This mission will live up to it's Rank. Anyone who enters, even a natural born Kurama will be under constant assault by genjutsu, acting like both an INT and CON poison that lowers them by (-) every post as long as they're in the cave. This debuff ignores the -2 tier debuff limit, stopping at E for CON as it won't outright kill you. Jutsu like Genjutsu Kai can pay a B-rank's worth of CP to reset the debuff. Being knocked out will reset the debuff. Bring your A-game people.
Payment: 150,000 | All parties, win or lose, will receive a permanent (+) UA Buff to Intelligence & Perception against Genjutsu.
Maximum Number of Participants: Up to 6, 3 min. (2 per faction)

Ho Chi Mine's Iron Will (keep flowing)

"Ya know what ya need ta win a wa'? People. Ya know what ya need ta gedda people where they needda go? Boats. Ya know what ya need ta make boats? Iron! Ged id back!"

    Background & Belligerents

Theater of War Registration Thread MGx1cBS

Ho Chi Mine is a small but active town located in the Land of Lightning (pictured above). They have an active iron mine, and very easy access to the sea. During times of peace, their primary buyer was actually Water Country, despite being located within the Land of Lightning, primarily due to the difficulty of shipping through the mountains. Kumogakure was, however, a close second, and Sky Country took a somewhat distant third.

Now, however, Kumogakure has fully taken over the port town and is transforming it into a fortress while blocking all iron exports to any foreign land. Being cut off from vital resources does not sit well with the leadership of Kirigakure, and they are looking to claim the town for themselves and reopen the supply line.

    Special Reward

Passive income of 350K for 6 IRL months to the winning village (best two of three).

    Mission List

    Tower Defense:

    Mission Name: Tower Defense
    Mission Rank: A
Theater of War: Ho Chi Mine's Iron Will (keep flowing)
Relevant Plot NPCs None (unless players request any)
Mission Goal: Kumogakure wants to prevent the seven in progress turrets from being destroyed. Kirigakure wants to completely destroy the seven turrets.
Description: Kumogakure has not yet finished building their defenses within and around the harbor. Kirigakure wants you to ruin their progress. The turrets are placed around the entire harbor, equidistant around the entire thing. Kumogakure wins if at least four turret sites are standing after the Kirigakure forces are forced to flee. Kirigakure wins if they manage to destroy at least four turret sites.

Turret sites can take four B Rank hits, three A Rank hits, two S rank hits, or one X rank hit. There are 250 meters between each turret site.
    Payment: -
Maximum Number of Participants: Up to 4 participants, two from either side.

    Flank Stakes:

    Mission Name: Flank Stakes
    Mission Rank: S
Theater of War: Ho Chi Mine's Iron Will (keep flowing)
Relevant Plot NPCs None (unless players request it)
Mission Goal: Two Kirigakure ninja will maneuver around enemy lines, disabling traps along the way, in preparation for a flanking maneuver. The Kumogakure ninja must stop them.
Description: Kirigakure is sending you on a mission to read the back line. You have been given a route that will get you there. Unfortunately, a civilian network managed to decipher part of the communique. They know a part of the route, and have begun setting up booby traps along the way. They have also sent a messenger towards Ho Chi Mine proper to warn them of the attack. This messenger was able to inform one Kumogakure ninja on patrol, who is now rushing in to stop the flanking forces' forwards party, the two Kirigakure ninja.

Each trap can be defused by a crafter with a full round of work. If the crafter is disabled, each trap has a stat check to overcome it. The first three require a base of A rank Constitution, Coordination, and Perception (one each in that order) to overcome without a crafter to properly notice and disable them. The final trap requires S rank intelligence to bypass without the crafter.

Should a ninja not be able to make the stat check on a triggered trap, they will roll a d10 and the result determines their fate.

    1-2: You are knocked out
3-5: You suffer a severe injury and cannot walk or run for the rest of the mission.
5-7: You suffer a major injury and take a -2 penalty to all non-intelligence stats.
8-9: You suffer a minor injury and take a -1 penalty to three non-intelligence stats of your choosing.
10: You were able to avoid damage from the trap by some method.

If one Kirigakure ninja manages to bypass all four traps and disable, escape, or capture the Kumogakure ninja, Kirigakure claims victory. If both Kirkgakure ninja are unable to continue past the fourth trap, Kumogakure claims victory (even if the Kumogakure ninja is unconcious or disabled).
    Payment: -
Maximum Number of Participants: Two Kirigakure Nina, one Kumogakure Ninja

    Fight in Mining Armor:

Mission Name: Fight in Mining Armor
    Mission Rank: A
Theater of War: Ho Chi Mine's Iron Will (keep flowing)
Relevant Plot NPCs None (unless players request it)
    Mission Goal: Win the confrontation
Description: Deep within the mountains of Ho Chi Mine lie miles of mines, going up and down, left and right. Two cornered Kirigakure ninja have fled into the mines. Two Kumogakure ninja have been tasked with finding them. Both sides without a map.

Defeat and restrain your opponents and wait for the civilian rescue team (which will occur after the end of the topic, and lead your out through a secondary exit tunnel outside of Ho Chi Mine).

Warning: both teams did manage to grab a canary. Protect those canaries as if your lives depends on it. Because they do. After five rounds of posting, if the two groups of ninja are not close together, roll a d2. On a 1, the Kirigakure canary will fall unconscious. On a 2, the Kumogakure canary will fall unconscious. If the two groups of ninja are together, both canaries will fall unconscious. You have two rounds to move further up in the mine before falling unconscious. This timer is increased by one round for every constitution tier you have above E (so 3 rounds for D, 4 rounds for C, etc.)
    Payment: -
Maximum Number of Participants: Two Kirigakure ninja, two Kumogakure ninja.
