Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

The sun was hanging low in the western skies, the Storm of the previous day had subsided and Sunagakure had returned to its normal, dry, state, sans some puddles littering the streets. What it did leave was some lingering clouds, lit in vivid colors by the evening sun, hues of pinks and oranges mixing to make the skies over Suna rather beautiful. It seemed Azuma had quite the effect on the weather surrounding Sunagakure. If he kept up using that jutsu every day they could rename the village Dorogakure--The Village Hidden in the Mud. Jokes aside, the air was rather cool, abnormal for late day in Sunagakure, another effect of the rainy day prior. It'd take a couple days for the Desert Weather to settle to normal once again.

But these things was literally the last thoughts on the mind of The Desert Rogue...he'd agree'd to take Ei out on a date the morning before, after the highs and lows of the other night with his former teammate. From nearly dying...too drinking...too a passionate kiss on the rooftop...too the awkward waking up both half naked in her bed. All these things had been spinning in Azuma's head, while thoughts of doubt tried to peer through. But he was able to push these thoughts down...and be a man of his word.

Still. Even as confident as he was...he was nervous. His feet, cloaked in black Shinobi-style shoes, carried the young man down the streets of Sunagakure, stepping over random puddles as he did. His pants was rather normal, just plain black, ending with the cuffs hanging about his shins. Bandages covered literally a third of his body...his shins, both of them, covered to show no skin, the only skin visible being his toes poking out the end of the shoes. His torso was half wrapped, from somewhere around his belt line, to just under his chest. His entire right arm was bandaged, covering the burns from the previous battle as they healed. This was all normal. What wasn't normal was his top...

The man would wear a silk Yukata, noticeably more fancy and luxurious then his everyday white one. This one was black, and lined on the inside with bright red--a nice pop of color visible wherever one could see the inside of his Yukata. The cuffs of the hands was also accented in this crimson silk, just for that extra pop. Clearly this outfit had never seen battle...it was what the man would wear as 'formal' wear. This Yukata was loose, open enough to show his chest--necklace hung from his neck--and even the top of the bandages wrapping his torso. It was tied off by his headband, made a bit wider to act as a nice belt, a dark red shade surrounding the metal plate. His hair was less wild then normal, clearly he'd run a comb through it, but it still was hard to tame, the man's dark locks still possessing its wild nature as they hung freely, not tied back, draping over his shoulders.

Azuma made his way through the streets, and now his mismatched hues fell on the tall apartment block Ei lived in. It'd take him a minute but he'd make his way up towards the top of the tall building, where her modest apartment was. She likely picked it due to its view of the city...not for its luxury. He made it, and would come to stand in front of her door. He paused...looking at the door. Memories of how he felt yesterday morning washed over him...the hurt he felt when that Morning she'd woke up and was so cold to him, after such a warm night together. It made him hesitate...

'...What if...' was crossing his mind, and only was met with a flood of possibilities, most of them negative. He shook his head, and the doubt left his features, replaced with the determined confidence the man was known to exude. The man was intelligent...he'd been through much hardship in his life. He couldn't let doubt settle in now, not over this. This...it was important to him. He wanted to make a change in his life...Ei was the change he wished for. His hand reached up, bandaged and all, his knuckles would rap on her door, the pattern he was known to do--same as what he'd tapped upon her window the other night. He took a deep breath...and waited.

She had been expecting him. Or, more accurately, she had been waiting for him. What had happened between them on the day before yesterday was still swirling around in her mind. All the emotions felt like a tornado of oil, and even as she attempted to remain stoic towards it all Ei found herself unable. There was a strange and uncomfortable feeling in her chest from it. It came from the whiplash of emotions, back and forth, and now even though things had settled it still felt like they were moving around inside of her. Part of that was the uncertainty. None of this had been planned. It wasn’t as if she had gone into the night with even the slightest forethought that any of what happened could happen. It was all just natural and spontaneous, and that made it frightening. The same was true for now. She offered him the chance at a date, and a clean slate. Even if he didn’t want to ever forget the moment they shared together, it was necessary for Ei’s composure to have a dignified and official start to all of this. She wasn’t at all uncomfortable with the idea of dating, or even more, with Azuma, a revelation that bright a slight tinge of pink to her cheeks whenever she thought about it. That was fine. But to start it off on a night of drinking and emotions and peeping and nudity? Ei couldn’t handle it.

That was why this was necessary, and why she was nervous. Even in offering him the date, she had neglected to say any other details than that. She had no idea when he was coming, and as a result she would get up at the crack of dawn to prepare. It was more a mental preparation than a physical one, as she would be adorned with every ounce of elegance that she was typically known for. Her ornate silk kimono, painted over by hand with blacks and reds and whites, was what she dressed herself in. One of her favorites, and something that she would be easily recognizable in. The variety of pinned flowers and other hair ornaments she typically wore would be carefully arranged through her silky locks of black. It was her normal routine for when she had the time to prepare. While this was a situation that likely called for more than just your average attire, Ei was the sort of person to use her finest china with every meal. She always wore her best, and so it was difficult to top what she normally did with something even more extravagant.

A light rapping of knuckles would echo against her front door and into the interior of her apartment, and Ei would immediately alert into action. She would rush to the door. Maybe a little too quickly, but after having waited for him to arrive all morning there was no reason for hesitation. She would open the door shortly after he knocked, and the image of a dolled-up Ei Kanagawa would appear in the doorframe before Azuma.

She took a moment to glance over him. The injuries and bandages caught her attention, but so did the yukata. Her blue hues would turn down on it. Without asking, and without any emotion on her face, Ei would reach out to feel the fabric. It was clearly silk just by looking at it, but a part of her had to feel it to confirm. The substance would be squeezed between her fingers for a moment, and after approving of the quality she would retrieve her hand back from his personal space.

“I didn’t know you owned something so nice. You clean up well.” He had clearly cleaned himself up. While Ei wouldn’t have judged him for not doing so, she greatly appreciated the new look. Her analytic glare would be turned towards his entire appearance, and with narrow eyes she would scan over him until it was all soaked in.

After he'd knocked, Azuma's body shifted, more of his side facing the door then squared up with it. He could hear a rustle of clothing inside, his ears was sensitive enough to hear Ei rush to the door, even if she'd done so fairly gracefully. His eyes turned back towards the door as it opened, and he'd see Ei appear before him. He'd have a moment to examine her, she always dressed so elegantly this didn't look too different then what she'd normally wear, but still, her Kimono was ornate, full of life and different shades of black and white, with vivid pops of red to catch the eye--and catching his eye it did.

It'd seem she too was going over his looks...and soon enough reached out, Azuma blinking a couple times rapidly in confusion, until he realized she was simply feeling his Yukata. It would've been the first time she seen him in this one, not to say his everyday Yukata wasn't nice, but this one was just another step up. The silk felt soft and smooth, gliding effortlessly over itself if she had rolled it between her fingers upon inspection. His eyes shifted to look to her's once she let go, right before she spoke.

Azuma smiled if only a little. "Even a warrior needs to know how to show some class..." he'd respond to her, voice as silky as his Yukata, as always. He had to fight back his nerves, his hand shifting upwards and in a smooth movement a Desert Rose slid from his sleeve and into his grasp, presenting it to her. He'd give a smile to go along with it...if she was observant enough she might catch the hint of a blush upon his features as he offered her the flower.  "I hope I haven't kept you waiting to long. Shall we go, Ei-chan?" he'd say through his smile. This was likely the first time he'd ever used that suffix after her name. It felt fitting, given how he was beginning to view her.

The producing of the rose into his hands caused an immediate and visible shift in Ei. Her eye would light up and widen as he pulled it from his sleeve like some sort of magic trick. While doing her best to keep her same stoic appearance locked down, it was clear from the shine in her eyes that she was incredibly impressed. It was a classic maneuver with these sorts of things. Roses and dates went hand in hand. She couldn’t help but crack a small smile upon seeing it. He was quickly racking up points with her. The gift would be gently taken from him and fondly regarded, brought close to her chest for a moment. Just from the scent it gave off Ei could identify that it was something that he had freshly picked himself, rather than having picked up at some florist. The fact that he had gone to the effort to do something so traditional just for a moment like this pleased her like nothing else.

Then there was the ‘Ei-chan’, which was also new. The words themselves seemed to signal a shift between them, alongside all the actions that had taken place as of late. It was hard not to smile, in that genuine sort of way. As much as Ei wanted to keep a face of stoic elegance now, she couldn’t help it right now. She felt like a teenager again, for a moment. Although, these sorts of situations only happened to the teenager-Ei in her fantasies.

“Where have you been hiding this class all these years?” She would take her first step out, and the door to her apartment would be closed and locked behind her. It was a teasing statement, but at the same time she wished he had shown this side of himself a long time ago. “If I had known you were capable of this, I would have squeezed it out of you years ago.”

Post by Azuma Asakaze on Wed Feb 19, 2020 2:15 am

Azuma must've been doing something right so far, his perceptive mismatched hues catch sight of her own dull blues widening at his presentation of the desert rose, and even if she tried to remain stoic, he couldn't help but see the shine in her eyes, and the smile it brought to her. He'd hand it off to her and watch as she pulled it close to her heart, taking a smell of it. What she didn't know is the reason he was 'so late' tonight in coming to take her on the date is because he'd spent hours combing the desert throughout the morning and day just to find it for her. He had broken her stoic gaze already, the smile she held only made him fill with joy--and a bit more confidence. Maybe he could do this...maybe he had a shot at winning the woman's heart, if he put enough effort in.

He'd listen to her response, asking where he'd been hiding this side of him these years. He awaited for her to lock her apartment door once she had stepped out, and was graced with her voice once more. He reached up to the back of his head, sleeve sliding down a little to show he still had this arm bandaged up from the other night, him rubbing the back of his head almost nervously, but his voice nor face would show it. "Locked away somewhere behind the ol' goofball you used to know." was his response. She didn't have much a chance to respond, Azuma shifted his position about her, coming to stand beside her...and offered his arm, elbow out, for her to either grip onto or even lock her arm with his. Azuma had a couple places in mind to take her tonight...if she was gonna give him a chance for a date, he'd make sure he did it right. All the while he looked at her, the hint of nervousness shown in his eyes, wondering if she'd take or reject his offer to walk with her like this...

Post by Ei Kanagawa on Wed Feb 19, 2020 3:48 pm

She gave a knowing smile. It was cute to think about a younger Azuma acting in this sort of way, but it would have been somewhat out of character with how goofy he always was. Boys did mature slower than girls did. That was just biology, as unfortunate as it was. The flattered and impressed smile she had been wearing in a reaction to the rose would be replaced, with the tone shifting as her eyes narrowed somewhat while she looked at him. She was more than pleased with his performance so far. The gentleman act, while not for everyone, was exactly the sort of thing that Ei enjoyed. The offered arm would be softly taken ahold of, and with that action Ei would give Azuma formal permission to take her where he pleased. It was impressive how easily things changed with the right prodding. Azuma went from laughing and mocking her request for a love poem just the day before to this sort of behavior today.

“Mmm. Well, you’ve already surpassed my expectations, and we haven’t even left the apartment complex yet. I’m excited to see what has yet to come.” What she had said last night came to mind. ‘If you keep this up, I won’t know what to do with myself’, which had been something she said in response to the love poem that he had spontaneously written and recited on the spot. Just the thought of it induced a slight fluttering in her chest, but it would quickly be stomped down. She promised herself that she would remain composed today. Ei wanted to stay in control of herself and her emotions.

“So, what do you have planned?”

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Azuma Asakaze on Wed Feb 19, 2020 7:02 pm

The Desert Rogue felt this was off to a good start, so far so good they say. He'd seem to bring a smile to her face many times over in roughly a minute, if even that. But it wouldn't be long, and Ei's features seemed to return to their normal self. But this was fine, the fact he'd feel her warm hands through the silk of his Yukata on his arm told him well enough she was pleased with him, even before she spoke. Azuma would go ahead and take a step, making sure to walk at a comfy pace for Ei. No need to rush about, not today. Today was meant to be taken at a relaxed pace...something rare for the fast Raiton Warrior. Being maybe the fastest Shinobi in Sunagakure made for a fast life. But right now...Azuma wished for each moment with Ei to be savored.

Azuma would listen to what she had to say as he'd lead the way back from her apartment's floor down to ground level. "Oh you know, I found this Ramen Stand over in the market, I figured it'd be cheap and quick." he said in response to her asking what he had planned, his tone dripping of sarcasm, and the obvious wink he'd give her assured he was only kidding. "You'll see, I have a couple things in mind. I do hope you haven't spoiled your appetite though." he'd say with a more serious, but still soft and kind tone. They'd make it to the streets of Sunagakure and he'd make way for the first place he had in mind.

As they walked, Azuma's eyes would remain forward, keeping an eye out. Ei didn't really live in the best part of town, and it was getting late--who knew what kind of lowlifes lurked the streets. With how they both looked--the two made out for a 'rich couple' rather then two Shinobi out on their first date. at first glance. For Azuma...it was his first actual date. He'd glance back to Ei, his mismatched hues shifting to his side and down a bit. He was so much taller then her, after all. "You look very elegant Ei...then again you almost always do." he'd say, giving her a small smile.

"I can't help but feel like the luckiest guy in Suna right now...having such a beautiful woman hanging from my arm...its..." he trailed off, and his gaze averted from her, more looking to the ground in front of him as they walked. His features shifted, the smile lost, and whispers of his hidden nervousness could be read on his face. "Its...I mean..."--he sighed quietly--"N-nevermind." he dismissed it, turning back to her and forcing a smile. Azuma should become an ANBU, he already wears a mask so well.

He had almost the perfect distraction though, before she had any time to even try to question what he was gonna say, the man had shifted his arms a bit, one slid to support her shoulders, the other just behind her knees. "Hang on tight now..." he said with a gentle kindness as he would scoop her off her feet...and cradle the woman once more like had the night before last. The feeling of her warm body against his...it sent a shiver down his spine. He took a quick leap, followed by another, scaling rooftop to rooftop to gain height. Finally they broke out of the sea of tall buildings by landing on top of one of those very same buildings, and their timing couldn't be beaten.

The sun was just diving under the Horizon, it was particularly obscured off in the distance. The real spectacle was above them, the scattered clouds lit in many beautiful hues of pink, orange, blue, and contrasts of gray from the low setting sun. This stunning view went on until the horizon...These was the after-effects of the Storm he'd formed the other night--still providing sights even a day after it had went away. Azuma didn't set her down on the rooftop, remaining holding her within his arms. "I hope...you didn't mind me picking you up. But I wanted to show you the view before it was too late." he explained his actions, smiling to her, still holding her for the moment. He planned to bring her back to the ground soon enough, after giving her a moment to enjoy the view.

((Post #100 for Azuma >.> Woooo....))

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Ei Kanagawa on Wed Feb 19, 2020 9:26 pm

She enjoyed this. There was a strong and simple pleasure that came with just walking with him, arm and arm. The physical contact in itself was enjoyable, and the formal manner in which they were so close together was exactly the sort of thing she enjoyed. Even if their scenery was less than idea, being Ei’s somewhat low-scale apartment complex, she would have enjoyed herself doing this with Azuma no matter the location. The scenery would quickly change as well. Outside her apartment, and outside the neighborhood it was stuck in, things would gradually become nicer. Even if Azuma had been joking about the ramen stand, Ei wouldn't have necessarily judged him for something like that. The wink he gave her would provoke a bit of a grin on her face though. It seemed, at least based on what she’s seen so far, that Azuma wanted to make things special today. It brought a strong warmth to her chest, although part of that may have just been being so close to him now. Even if physical contact with him was cool to the touch for her, she couldn’t help but feel warm from it.

The glance down at her would be something she felt, and she would take a glance back up at Azuma shortly after. They would only meet eyes for a moment, and seeing the smile that Azuma was wearing she couldn’t help but smile back. The comments he would make though would provoke a slight giggle in the girl, although she would do her best to suppress it. He was so cute. The slight nervousness he had when he spoke, which he tried so hard to hide, was something she greatly enjoyed. The way he trailed off after the compliment and nearly stuttered as he thought about to say was something that she positively ate up. She would keep on her same knowing smile, eyes narrowed as she waited for him to finish, and once he did she would give a gentle squeeze to his arm.

She would be swept off her feet again, this time before she had even realized what was coming or was given the potential to respond. Ei would be cradled in a princess carry once again, and once she realized what was going on she would adjust to it and make herself comfortable.

“I would say that flattery will get you nowhere, but…” She would trail off, clearly pleased by the tone of her voice. “I can’t lie, I have a weakness for this charming side you have. Especially when you carry me like this… It makes me feel like a young girl again.” She would let out a small sigh. She would go silent as Azuma started leaping, tensing up ever so slightly even though she trusted him not to drop her.

“You aren’t just putting on a show and telling me what I want to hear to make me happy though, are you?” She wanted to do something tease him a bit, but that could wait for later. Perhaps a chaste kiss on the cheek? The thought of doing something like that made her feel like a youthful teenager again. Part of her was starting to wish this could have been something that happened between them years ago, back when they were both younger. If it had, things would be so different now. At the same time, it was best not to think back to the past and how it could have been different.

The first thing she would see was the view of the horizon infront of her. It was an absolutely beautiful swirl of colors, with the red and orange of the sun mixing together with the clouds to create a shining pink, with the blue of the sky behind it. She was taken back for a moment. After a second of hesitation, she would turn to Azuma again, a soft smile on her face. It was a repeat of the moment of last night, with the exception of them both being sober and without the rain. She would settle in his arms and against his chest. If he had set her down, she wouldn’t have been able to resist kissing him on the cheek then and there.

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Azuma Asakaze on Thu Feb 20, 2020 12:23 am

The Desert Rogue had met eyes with Ei briefly, and it resulted in a brief moment of them smiling to each other. Each time she giggled the man's heart jumped...the subtle laughs from Ei made him feel like he was soaring. After his 'bout of awkwardness he had scooped her up, and for a small moment before he had leaped, she spoke...her words ran through his mind, him unable to even respond in the moment. The two had made their way to the rooftop and landed softly--Azuma had felt her tense up when he begun moving but this was expected. Maybe some day she'll get used to it...but for now he now stood atop the roof, the younger woman held in his arms.

Her line upon reaching the roof brought Azuma's smile down a peg. But he didn't wish ti intrude on her view, she seemed captured by what he showed her, the man watching as she looked skyward. Once more she'd turn to look at him, and their eyes would meet. This sparked Azuma's smile right back up...he knew he was doing something right at least, she wouldn't keep smiling at him if he wasn't. The feeling of her settling in his arms, and even resting against his chest, her warmth against him...it made him want to melt.

The man would shift her position to gently set her down, knelling down with her to make it as smooth a transition as possible--happening to find a raised section on the roof to bring her much closer to his height when she stood on it. A blush would flare across his cheeks and the bridge of his nose for a brief moment, as he shut his eyes and Ei would gently feel his head rest atop her's, a moment held as he spoke softly to her."You know me better then that Ei-chan...I...I just wanted to show you that the other night...it wasn't some drunken lapse of judgement. I know we had a lot to drink, and thinks may have gotten awkward...but everything I said on that rooftop I meant from my heart." he struggled to get out through his fluster. His voice held a nervousness behind it as the man had issues trying to express his emotions. In situations like this...Azuma struggled to express what he felt. She had this effect on him, no other girl seemed to...only Ei.

"...I regret not realizing it sooner but...I'm realizing...I've always..."--by now he was becoming a flusted mess, and had to let go, his head removed from the gentle lean against her's as he spoke, and he turned away, eyes averted. "...Even when we was teenagers I always liked you...I just wasn't mature enough to understand what I felt..." he finally admitted, eyes averting to the rooftop below them. Now he was too flustered to look at her...his pale features marked with a hue of pink. By now Azuma had a sea of emotions washing over him...nerves, fear of rejection, relief to finally say how he felt, regret for lost time. The mask was off and Ei could read him like an open book in this moment.

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Ei Kanagawa on Thu Feb 20, 2020 3:38 am

Being set down now, with Azuma even kneeling to set her down to a comfortable transition, Ei would be allowed to stand again under her own power. It wasn’t even a moment after she would stand though that Azuma would rest his head atop her own. With how tall he was it was only the fact that she was both standing in geta and also on a section of raised roof that this was even possible. Normally he was a full head above her, even with her height boosting sandals on. It was a cute moment because of that, and the closeness would immediately make her pause. Azuma had taken a hold of the momentum for this date, which she had expected to happen, but not exactly like this. For some reason he had a powerful ability to make her blush, which he had done caused to happen more in the last twenty-four hours than she had in the rest of her life put together. Especially as he spoke to her now, his voice gentle and soft.

Her thoughts returned to last night. Not just the kiss on the rooftop, but what had come later, and the morning after. When she had said her intention to have a blank slate regarding all of this, it was the moments of drunken nudity that she was referring to. The kiss atop the rooftop? Those moments, while embarrassing to think about the day after, weren’t anathema to her in the same way that the peeping and outfit changing mess had been. It was her natural desire for order and control that made her want this date instead, a more formalized and official beginning, a desire that was strongly contradictory with her profession as an artist. As easy as it was for her to express chaos and freedom and liberty while painting on the canvas, to do the same in reality was terrifying. It was so easy for things to spiral out of control, and then to lose everything. It had been like that so many times, where she was helpless, and just a passive onlooker to events that happened. There was a part of her now that struggled against it like a wild animal, no matter the circumstance. If something like this was going to happen between them, she wanted to feel as though she had control over it.

She waited until he finished saying what he had to, staying silent until the end. As he did finish, signaling this by averting his eyes to the ground in silence while consumed by pink across his cheeks, Ei would consider what he said and what she could see on his face. Flushed over and flustered, this scene was reminiscent of a young teenage boy confessing to a girl he had fallen for. In a sense neither of them were too far removed from being teenagers.

This time, Ei would be the one to take the lead, in a mirror of their last moment on the roof. Standing up on her toes again, she had the height she needed together with her geta and the raised roof to take Azuma by the chin. His head would be tilted ever so gently, until she could look him in the eyes again with a smile. After that moment of eye contact, rather than saying anything to reassure him, she would lean in. A gentle, chaste kiss would be pressed against his lips. It would only last for a second, being a gentle peck against him in a reverse of their kiss the night before, but it should have expressed herself here more than words could have.

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Azuma Asakaze on Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:02 am

Maybe it was simply the hidden insecurity within him, but Azuma half expected her to laugh at his words, or something. But he got silence, it wasn't assuring at first, feeling as though maybe she didn't share or return any feelings he spoke up. It wasn't until he felt the young woman's hand come to his chin and force him to turn and look at her. Once more the dark haired duo locked eyes, and she could see the surprise on his face as she did this.

It was like slow motion as Ei leaned in, on her toes still but without any further trouble, and Azuma felt her lips softly and briefly press against his own. He returned the kiss through his bit of shock, even if it was a short one. Following their moment, sharing their second kiss--and first with clear minds, he'd look into her eyes, a flustered expression, but...a smile ear to ear. She'f feel his arms curl about her body, gently pulling the warmth of her body closer to himself in a sweet embrace, the young man smiling to her after their gentle but romantic kiss.

His embrace was soft, but close, his arms loosely curled around the arch of her lower back. He just...wished to enjoy the moment forever, but the man was fully aware he couldn't. His smile faded but still remained, simply more subtle now. She didn't have to say a word to express her feelings in this moment, and he felt them to his core. Much like the night before, he would gently press his forehead against her's, close enough to feel her warm breath on his skin as she held her. He said nothing...he didn't wanna ruin the moment. The man waited until it was just about to become awkward before slowly stepping back, letting go of her, but keeping his focus on her.

By now, only moments after they got up there, the sun dipped below the Horizon. The sky remained lit ablaze with all the natural hues provided by the Sun, but the burning orb of plasma itself was now out of sight. This moment had played out and Azuma knew it was coming to its natural end, the man offering his hand to her, much as he did the other night. Quickly once she'd accept his offer he'd once more pull her up against him, and with a single leap, the two left the roof top, and would gracefully drop back to the streets. Landing Azuma coiled like a spring, absorbing the entire impact of landing within his legs. He made quick to set her back down, smiling softly before once more offering his arm to hold onto. "...Shall we get a move on, Ei-chan?" he said with a softness only reserved for those most cherished.

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Ei Kanagawa on Fri Feb 21, 2020 2:49 pm

It was a cute moment. The immediate change in Azuma’s behavior was something she enjoyed to an immense degree. The flustered expression that he had, and the massive smile. Feeling his arms curl around her was satisfying in a way she couldn’t exactly explain. The embrace was gentle and pleasant, and she found herself leaning into it and against him. It was almost a moment of pride for her that she was able to provoke a reaction like this without saying a single thing, especially after what he had just said about his anxieties and all of his feelings. There was a certain swelling in her chest that came from it, an emotion that she had never felt before in this context.

They would stay like this, just enjoying each other’s embrace, until the setting sun would finally collapse below the horizon line. She allowed Azuma to be the one to pull away first, and once he did take himself away from the cute little moment she would lean back as well, straightening herself out. The darkness that was cast over them, rather than the warmth of the setting sun, would bring a new atmosphere into the air around them.

Once Azuma offered his hand out to her, Ei would take it once more. She was prepared this time to be swept off her feet, and so it would come naturally to her to relax and allow Azuma to take control of the situation. It seemed that sweeping her off her feet and leaping around with her was something that was going to be happening more and more often based on how much he had done it in the last twenty-four hours, and as a result Ei would do her best to get used to the sensation of being carried. Once he touched back down to the street and she was let onto her feet again she would once again take his arm, back to how they had been moments before.

“Thank you, Azuma.” She would say as she took his arm, gently squeezing into him where she held again. Something about squeezing him felt good. It was another one of those feelings she couldn’t exactly explain, which seemed to be happening more and more often as of late.

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Azuma Asakaze on Sat Feb 22, 2020 12:52 am

The man had noticed a hint of more comfortable feeling of her in his arms this time, she was slowly getting used to this...to be fair, this was what, the 4th time in a 48 hour span? She seemed less tense, him able to feel it through his arms and against his chest. After a graceful landing and Azuma setting down his absolute beauty of a date, his ears would burn with the first words she'd said in minutes it seemed--a simple 'Thank you, Azuma' before nigh hugging his arm. It kept his subtle smile fueled, an pushed heat to his face--a light blush as he felt her squeeze his arm. He said nothing, but his free arm would cross over, and hand would gently rest on and squeeze her forearm, a subtle feeling but one that hopefully responded without needing to say it. Besides...the man was likely too flustered to say much. It'd probably come out as mush.

The two would carry on with their date...Azuma still not even sure if it was happening. Was his still drunk and asleep in her bed, having some extended dream? Or did he simply never actually escape the blast of the explosive tags a couple nights ago and this is his heaven, perceived as living as if he'd just survived and now life could only be amazing and dreamy?...No. The warmth of Ei against his arm, embraced against herself...it told him it was real. Not to mention the sting from his burns, they was a pretty constant reminder.

Azuma would lead the two into a more upscale part of town. Many people was about, some gave the two a glance even. Ei was a work of art, to see her walking while holding onto the arm of Azuma may have turned some stunned, or even jealous eyes on them. Azuma felt it, and hoped Ei didn't--or didn't care. Somewhere along the way Azuma stopped at a small stand, and got them some Pocky--a small treat for now. He smiled as he offered her one--another sticking out the side of his lips like a large chocolate covered toothpick as he smiled, eyes shut and all. This may have brought flashes of the goofball she met all those years ago, when his face still had two amber hues.

After he'd go ahead and shuffle them on, making their way a few blocks down, enough time to eat a pocky stick for even the slowest of eaters. Azuma would finally stop them, gesturing for her to enter the door of what could only be described as the best Restaurant in all of Sunagakure. "I'd say first stop, but guess we side-quested a little. Sorry, I get a little distracted when around such a masterpiece. Art in motion..." he'd say with that smooth flirty charm, with a hint of tease on the silver tongue--a small wink following his words. "Can't have fun on empty stomachs now can we?"

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Ei Kanagawa on Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:03 pm

The rest of their journey would be serene. It was a cool and pleasant day in the village from the perspective of Ei, which showed that the conception of temperature was entirely relative, and so she took her time to enjoy the gentle stroll they shared through the sand paved streets of the city. The way they walked made them appear as some sort of wealthy couple of aristocratic nature, an aesthetic that Ei was more than pleased to adopt at the moment. Azuma, seemingly sent to cloud nine, didn’t seem to have any complaints either. As long as he was content, without any worries or anxieties floating around inside her mind, she was more than happy to continue with this as it was.

The stop that came for pocky would be something that would provoke a laugh in Ei. It was as if they were teenagers again. It wasn’t something that she would have purchased herself, but together with Azuma it seemed like a fun thing to take part in. The piece he offered her would be placed into her mouth, and she would smile as she held it between her slips. Giggles would have to be suppressed as she saw the face that Azuma was making with the pocky. It was a conscious action though. Years ago, or even just weeks ago, she would have reacted with general indifference to this level of goof. That she was opening up was more than just her defrosting from her normal self, but deliberate behavior for Azuma’s sake.

One stick of pocky was enough for her right now. As someone who wasn’t the fondest of sugar, only a few sticks was about the perfect amount of chocolate for Ei in one sitting. The light amount of sugar that was involved in pocky made it a more appetizing treat than most other sweets. It would be quietly consumed while they continued to walk. Only when they finally approached their destination did Ei finish, a notoriously slow eater. It was… Her eyes would widen as they finally came to where Azuma was leading her. She hadn’t been paying as much attention to their final destination, taking her time to just enjoy the walk itself, so that they ended up here was a legitimate shock to her. They were standing outside Masa, which was perhaps the most expensive restaurant in Sunagakure. It was a high quality sushi restaurant, using all high quality fish imported from the coast. Because of how far inland Sunagakure was there was a rarity of fish, and that made these sorts of places exorbitantly expensive. More so than the equivalent restaurant would be in Kirigakure, or even in Konoha, where fish was plentiful. She was in disbelief that Azuma was taking her here for a first date, and for a moment she would just look at him, staring incredulously.

“You… here?” She would get out after a few minutes. As much as she wanted to tell him that he didn’t have to destroy his wallet for this, she knew that she couldn’t insist that after he already planned it. Her only option would be to steady herself, retracting her surprise away. “This is… You’re certainly pulling a lot of stops, Azuma. I can’t say I expected anything like this.”

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Azuma Asakaze on Mon Feb 24, 2020 12:55 am

The Desert Rogue couldn't help but smile when he could see the shock on Ei's face--watching her eyes widen when she saw where they was filled him with joy, and her moments of quiet following, looking on in disbelief was just great. He even had a quiet chuckle to himself before she was able to get some words out. When she was finally able to force back her shock and say she hadn't expected this from him, he only smiled more and gave a small nod. "What kind of gentleman would I be if I didn't take my stunning beauty of a date out somewhere nice...or did you just expect a rooftop and the sunset to be it?" he'd say, once more gesturing for her to go ahead inside.

Once she did the man would follow behind--ladies first of course--the two met by smells of gourmet meals, a lot of them rare seafood, essentially the lifeblood of why this was the best place in Sunagakure. Top quality chefs, top quality fish, imported from the sea to the South. Expensive, sure...but Azuma had been saving up, he'd been planning on getting a new home better then his current modest affair--single bedroom house. But it could wait. Whats the point of a nice bigger home if he didn't have someone to share it with, right? The two would be guided to a seat by a worker there, taking them to a table fairly alone in the corner, no other customers around to bug them. More a traditional place, the table was low and the 'seats' was simply pillows on the floor. Azuma would go ahead and sit down across from Ei. "Feel free to get whatever you want Ei-chan..." he said softly with a small smile, before he'd go ahead and avert his mismatched hues to a menu they had been given.

Post by Ei Kanagawa on Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:15 pm

She would just look at him as he spoke, still a bit shocked from the revelation of where they were going. Ei couldn’t help but wonder for a moment how he was able to afford all of this in the first place. Was he blowing savings for this? The thought of that almost made her feel a little bit guilty, although special at the same time. If this was how he wanted to express himself, she couldn’t help but feel flattered as a result. With what he said afterwards she couldn’t help but adopt the slightest blush to her cheeks, and before she would enter inside as he gestured Ei would give him a gentle hug.

She would enter in before he did as he gestured, but Ei would wait until he joined her before traveling any further. The two would then be guided to their seat by a worker and brought over to a fairly big table over in one of the building’s corners. In a sense Ei matched the extravagant scenery here. As much as she pretended to be wealthy and sophisticated with how she dressed, Ei had never really come anywhere close to these sorts of experiences before other than the silks she wore. It was an entirely different scenery, one which she found herself enraptured in. Everything was beautiful, from just the walls themselves with how they were decorated to the tables, and even the pillows that they sat on. As Ei sat across from Azuma she found herself unable to not examine the pillow she sat on, reaching down to feel the surface and admire its craftsmanship.

“This place… It’s beautiful.” She would say with a whisper to Azuma, almost afraid that the waiters and staff might overhear. The expression on her face was something like a child in a candy store, and she couldn’t help but marvel just at the sophisticated scenery. Not one who had previously given much note to money or material wealth, just the few seconds she had spent inside this restaurant was already beginning to change her mind.

Eventually she would turn down to the menu, likely after Azuma had already settled on what he wanted. Her eyes would flicker over it for a few moments, scanning over the different choices, and then she would turn to Azuma, and then to his menu.

“What are you going to get?” She would whisper, leaning in a little closer to him.

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Azuma Asakaze on Wed Feb 26, 2020 11:59 pm

Azuma had been posed to let her go in front of him, not expecting the quick hug before she went in to enter. Once they had been seated, Azuma looked up to notice her expression, as she mentioned how beautiful the place was, and had even taken a closer look at the pillow she was being seated at. It just made him smile some, happy he was able to make an impression on her with his surprise. "Glad you like the place." he'd say in response.

Azuma was going over the menu, lots of different dishes offered, when Ei asked him what he planned to get, him glancing back up to see her leaned a bit closer to him. "Hmmm....thinking Unagi Eel Kabayaki, and some Sushi with Tobiko. Probably a couple Anko Dango for something sweet after." he'd respond with, setting the menu down on the table in front of him and focusing on her.

"I hope you don't mind coming here to eat...I ah...I wanted to take you somewhere nice and this is the only place I could think of..." he said with a slight blush, knowing he was really 'trying' to make this date worthwhile for Ei. Soon enough a waitress would come, a woman dressed in a fine Kimono there to take their order. Azuma ordered what he mentioned earlier after giving Ei a chance to order her food first. Once both orders was in the waitress would take their menu's and leave them to be alone together.

Unagi. It was one of her favorites. She was glad that he picked something like that. In settings like this she couldn’t help but fall back to predictable and cliche behavior. Her facade of elegance became increasingly unraveled, and she settled on ordering nearly the exact thing that Azuma was. It was just a lucky coincidence that she loved unagi though. If he had ordered something like like tako she definitely wouldn’t have copied him. She would also lay off the tobiko, as while it was very pretty to look at tobiko wasn’t her favorite. Not that it was bad, but when it came to roe she much preferred ikura. Not much could compare a fresh bowl of ikuradon. The thought of that made her desire it a bit, but she wanted to order something not exactly the same in all ways as Azuma, so she would lay off the caviar.

“I think I’ll get the unagi eel kabayaki too… and some uni nigiri…. Maybe some gunkan-maki sushi with ikura.” She was thinking about ikura too much now to resist it. Those little orange shiny orbs were just too pretty, and Ei had a strange fondness for food that was aesthetically pleasant like ikura was. If she had to pick a favorite food, it would probably have to be that. The menu would be set down after she decided on that.

“This is…” She would smile as he began speaking again, a bit more of that nervousness leaking out. “This is perfect. Thank you for taking me here, Azuma. I can’t help but be impressed that you decided to go for what is maybe the fanciest place in the whole of Sunagakure for our first date. You’ve certainly know how to make a girl feel special.”

The waitress would come, dressed nearly as traditionally as Ei was, to take their orders. Seeing that Azuma was giving her the chance, Ei would give her order first, ordering all the things she had just mentioned to the waitress, and then Azuma would give his.

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Azuma Asakaze on Sun Mar 01, 2020 9:47 am

It'd seem she'd want something similar to his own order, but with her own spin on it, Azuma nodding in silence in response to her choices for a meal. Surely at a place like this--it'd be as good as it could ever be, cooked to perfection. Frankly this was the last thing on his mind, the food would be good sure, but he was focused on whats in front of him...or who, rather. The man kept his eyes on Ei, it was nearly hard to look away. He'd blink when she begun speaking again, in the small pause between her words. He could hear the hint of nervousness in her voice.

A sheepish smile came to his features, a hand reaching up and rubbing the back of his head nervously, his sleeve sliding down just enough to show the bandages from the previous night still wrapped about his arm. He seemed embarrassed almost as she thanked him for taking her here--and better yet, making her feel special. Well, she was. The man had spent literally half his life knowing Ei, meeting her at 12--now being 24. With their age difference, it'd be a hint over half her life knowing Azuma, the girl having been 11 when they met. A slight blushed crossed his features...god, why did she do this to him? He never used to blush or get flustered.

"I just...ah.." he was stumbling a little, but quickly composed himself, loosing the nervous look and his hand dropping back to his side as he looked towards Ei's Bluish grey hues, smiling more confidently before speaking. "To me, you are special Ei-chan...you always been there for me, one of the few to ever care about me in any way..." he paused a moment to let out a 'heh', shutting his eyes and tilting his head down a bit, but still a small smile on his face, although faded--a hint of sorrow behind it. "If it wasn't for you...I'd not be here right now...the least I can do is make you feel as special as you are to me, even if for only a night." he'd say, eyes opening but now looking at the table between them instead of up at her.

"...I hope I can keep making you feel special." he'd say in nearly a whisper, but spoken smoothly and clearly--by now, his face was lit pink and red. Mismatched eyes shifted up at her, head still a bit down with his hair framing his face, him looking to see her reaction...while mentally sweating bullets. Likely good she wasn't close enough to hear his heart, it racing quickly enough to do a lap of Suna's walls in 30 seconds flat should it burst from his chest.

Post by Ei Kanagawa on Thu Mar 05, 2020 8:38 pm

Seeing his smile reassured her. She had felt so confident in herself up until the moment that she saw where he was bringing her, and then that bit of internal nervousness she had begun to leak out once again. It spoiled her aesthetic, ruining her appeal as the elegant woman that she tried to be. She did her best to reign in those emotions, even if it was difficult. The nervousness in her words was something she noticed after saying them, but it was hard to just course correct so quickly and immediately. Seeing his face though, and the way he spoke after was enough to allow her to regain herself. Looking into his eyes with a smile, she couldn’t help but admire the way he stumbled and then picked himself back up. The delicate side of himself that he showed off now, making himself vulnerable around her, was so incredibly sweet. Especially with just the little ways he moved while saying it, and the places his eyes went.

“You don’t need to say anything about the past, or thank me. Don’t feel like you owe me anything, Azuma.” She wanted to reach out and take his hand, but across the table like this it would have been impossible. It was almost a shame, she already missed the physical contact they had been enjoying earlier while traveling through the village. Even still, that confession regarding the past would be brushed aside. Ei didn’t accept debts from others, especially not Azuma. He had nothing to atone for, and the idea of him doing this to atone for that moment in the past almost made her want to scold him, although in a teasing way.

“I’ve done everything that I have because I wanted to. Including coming here with you.” She smiled as he looked up to her, it being the first reaction that he saw. “Don’t lower your head. You don’t have anything to worry about. Smile for me, so I can smile too.”

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Azuma Asakaze on Fri Mar 06, 2020 3:38 am

The man listened to her first response, the young woman expressing that he didn't have to bring up the past--that he didn't owe her. Even if she felt that way, he still felt in debt to the woman. She saved his life once before...but he'd remain quiet about it for now. When Azuma looked up and his different colored eyes slid up to view Ei, he saw her smile as she continued to speak to him, him looking into her eyes as she did. She reassured him, saying he shouldn't worry or lower his head. He'd smiled a little before she even said to smile for her, which only made the smile bigger.

Soon enough the waitress came and would take the two's orders, quickly leaving them be after taking the menus with the orders. After this Azuma turned his attention back to Ei, looking to look her in the eyes again...he always was the type to keep eye contact with most he spoke to, but this was different...he enjoyed it, looking into her eyes, trying to find the key to the depths of her mind behind those dull blue, almost gray hues. "I'm glad you came here with me here tonight. Its nice to have this chance..." he followed this with a 'heh' as he reached up and rubbed the back of his head for a moment, shuffling his long dark locks. "Makes me feel like the luckiest man in Sunagakure." he'd say with a large smile, just a hint of blush left on his face, subtle as he grinned at her.

The man lowered his hand from the back of his head and would reach across the table, hand open to and palm up, beckoning for her hand without the gesture. Assuming she would grant him her hand, the man would sit up and lean over, pulling her hand up and softly kissing the back of the beauty's hand, noting the temperature as he did. If he didn't know better by now he'd have thought she was sick, with a lethal fever. He'd go ahead and sit back, but hold onto her hand just a bit longer as he smiled to her again, this time more confidently then the sheepish grin a moment before. He just couldn't help it, she made him smile. She always had, even before these feelings fell over him.

It wasn't that long of a wait before their food would come, everything as ordered and picture perfect, prepared or cooked to perfection. Azuma thanked the waitress for bringing their food and was quick to look over his meal, a little excited for it. He usually ate...well, boring meals. This was a bit of a treat. Hopefully it was just as much of a treat for Ei.

As he beckoned her hand over he would grant it to him, carefully putting her own smaller hand into his palm. That he would lean forward and gently kiss the back of her hand would send another flutter of giggles throughout her. It was hard not to laugh and smile. “You flatter me.” She would laugh for a moment, leaning back in her seat. It was cute seeing him like this, even if it was different and a bit unnatural. He was too stuck inside his head. She wanted to flick him and tousel his hair a bit. Back to that desire to scold him. “You know you don’t need to say these things, Azuma. You look and sound nervous enough to sweat a hole through your seat. Don’t worry. I’m still the same Ei that I’ve always been. Don’t be afraid of me, I promise I won’t bite.”

The food would come soon after, and Ei would pull her arm back across the table in order to make so there was no obstacle to the waitress filling their table. It would all be ‘cooked to perfection’, which consider it was sushi meant that it wasn’t cooked at all. Except the unagi kabayaki, which was cooked, but nothing else was. A plate of unagi kabayaki for the both of them, and then Ei’s uni nigiri and ikura rolls would be placed over on her half of the table. The sushi with tobiko would be placed over with Azuma, along with the anko dango. Immediately Ei’s eyes would scan over the table, appreciating the aesthetic picture of the table. Sushi had a certain charm to it just visually that she appreciated.

She would take one of the ikura rolls, a bundle of little orange orbs wrapped tight in a roll of crisp seaweed. It would be held up for a moment, in Azuma’s direction with a pair of chopsticks. “Do you like ikura? Here.” If he consented she would attempt to feed him, using her chopsticks to put it into his mouth.

The laughter from her as he had kissed her hand would warm him inside, it did seem she was enjoying herself. As they both sat back the woman would express he didn't have to be so flattering, noting how nervous he looked. Her words would draw a sigh out of him as his expression became more neutral. "I know Ei, I just...heh, well, you said it--I'm nervous. I mean you're...well. You. You've always been amazing. I can't help it. I'm not afraid of you...Just want tonight to be one you'll remember and smile every time you do..." he'd quietly explain, his eyes having averted back to the table as he did, looking to their hands--the man gently rubbing his thumb over her hand. But a subtle curl of the edge of his lips would hint at a small smirk, him glancing back up to her.

"Besides...I don't take you as a biter anyways, but feel free to prove me wrong." he'd say with just a hint of flirty charm, teasing her a bit. More his normal style she'd be used too. Eventually their food came and the two would be forced to let go, having held hands long enough Azuma's hand still felt hot from her extra warm touch, it lingering. He'd watch as the waitress would place down the amazing spread. It was almost worth a picture once all laid out. Azuma gave the waitress a thankful nod and very subtle bow, before he'd take his own pair of chopsticks and quickly snag one of his Kabyaki and munching it down sort of quickly, trying to chew it when Ei caught his attention, the woman holding a Ikura Roll and asking if he liked them. He'd blink a couple times and finished what he had already eaten quickly.

"Mmm...I've never had one..." he said, looking a bit awkward again as she offered it to him. But he'd go ahead and lean forward some, letting her feed him it, the man leaning back after she had used her chop sticks to place it between his lips. She savored the flavor, finishing it before giving her a smile. "Its good."

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Ei Kanagawa on Mon Mar 16, 2020 3:56 am

It was something she had knowingly set up, but Ei would still laugh when he said it. It was difficult not to. She was in that mood, even if it was atypical for her. Laughing this much. Smiling this much. All these little actions. Half of it was natural, and half of it was art. Painting the specific scene that she wanted to be here. Ink and paint moving across a canvas, swirling colors together. Different emotions playing out, being splattered onto the blank canvas. It was difficult to paint when colors were already there, having been laid out across the canvas and allowed to dry. Some were still fresh, and the aromas of the wet paint could still be smelled. Still, taking her own brushstrokes to it would be how she achieved the vision she wanted.

“You better watch yourself. You’re saying that now, but we’ll see how you feel after I’ve taken a few bites out of you.” The tone was repeated, mimicked back to Azuma with the same flirtiness to it even if the exact contents of what she had said was much more playful and childish.

She would laugh as he took the ikura roll in his mouth, one or two of the little orbs of salmon roe falling from the roll as he shut his lips. It was cute. She would reach back with the chopsticks down to her own plate and take up a roll of the ikura herself, placing it into her mouth just as Azuma was finished with the one she had fed him.

Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn Empty Re: Yesterdays are over and gone, but the Moon makes way for the Dawn

Post by Azuma Asakaze on Tue Mar 17, 2020 1:11 pm

He'd listen to the dark haired beauty as she laughed in response to his words, even if realistically she'd set him up for such a joke. As she replied, the flirty tone crossing Azuma's ears, the man would be simply be watching her--listening. Focused. "Guess I'll just have to find out sometime" he'd not hesitate to fire back after she responded. He'd went on to try the food she was offering, enjoying the Ikura roll, even if an orb or two of it was lost in the process. Azuma would go on to eat his food, the man enjoying the well prepared meal, snagging up a sushi roll with his chopsticks and savoring the flavor as he ate it.

Some time would pass for them to eat, Azuma finishing up his meal--now simply eyeing the dango he'd gotten for a treat after the main course. He'd looked up to Ei, glancing at how far along in her meal she was. He'd go ahead and finish off his own food, sans a single dango at the end of a stick. He'd reach his hand with the dango stick out, Azuma balancing it upright on his fingertip--very subtle movements keeping the stick with dango on it standing upright as he presented it to her, casting a smile as he offered it to her. Assuming she accepted it, he'd simply retract his hand--if she declined it, the man would pretty quickly finish it off, placing the stick onto his now empty plate--only marked by some leftover syrup from the sweet treat.

"I hope you're not to full, still got one place to go after dinner." he'd say over to Ei, casting her a smile with it, before glancing down away from her to his empty plates, still keeping a subtle smile but also clearly fading back into his own mind and thoughts--if only for a moment, glancing back up to her after only a few seconds. "I have something beautiful planned for the Subaku no Kirei..." he'd say in a quieter, but charming tone, giving her a nickname of 'Subaku no Kirei', or 'Beauty of the Desert' simply.

It wouldn't be much longer and the waitress would return, and Azuma would go ahead and pay for their meals there and then, even giving the woman who's taken their orders and served them tonight a generous tip with it. Azuma stood and stepped over towards Ei after they had gotten through their food, and offered his hand to her to help her up--as well to hold to walk out of the restaurant together. Azuma hadn't noticed, but maybe Ei would, but at this point half the room's eyes was on them. Their date hadn't gone unnoticed it seemed...others must've thought of them as a cute couple.
