Appearance: Blades is a tall, young eighteen year old woman, standing at six feet and weighing around one-hundred and fifty pounds, with deep, hazel eyes and long, luscious blonde hair with bangs. Among all of her different clothing styles, Blades sports a toned, lithe build, showing that while she trains, she's still rather weak in comparison to most; and a large scar diagonally spread across her back, at about six inches long. Her skin is also very pale, due to his almost near-death state.
History: Blades story starts with her being born with one of the worst diseases any Shinobi could have possibly entered the world with; an extremely rare defect, not seen in thousands of years, as of now called 'Ueta Chi' - also known as Starving Blood. At first, before her chakra would mature upon growing up, Blades was able to live a relatively normal, happy life as a baby and toddler of the Sarutobi Clan, taken care of by her loving family of four, her mother, father, and big sister; Krystal Sarutobi, Drake Akarari, and Thundri Sarutobi, respectively. Over time, however, it became apparent to both her family, and any others she interacted with in the village, that her body was premature compared to most, and deteriorating as though she had come down with the plague. When she hit the age of five, right as she was beginning to learn more about the tales of great Shinobi and the world itself, she would be thrown into an emergency care unit under the care of Medical Ninja, after she attempted to try and use her chakra, as her father instructed him. This brought to light what was happening; her own blood boiling, reacting violently to her own source of chakra. It seemed to hunger for it, causing intense pain in the process; hence the name, Starving Blood. A solution was thought up, using artificial blood capsules to combat the defect, but it was only enough to prevent the disease from outright killing her, and would end up being the very thing that nearly causes her death eleven years later.
That being said, before those eleven years passed, Blades would constantly try to improve and train herself, physically and mentally, so she could eventually be allowed to join the Academy. But this never seemed to help, and because of her physical conditioning, combined with Ueta Chi, he was not given entry. Her second try at something fun and interesting to her was the craft of weaponry, as well as the study of botany, so she began to read up on all she could and see if she could become a blacksmith or alchemist, maybe an apprentice. This also did not turn out well; again, due to the fact it was too physically taxing for someone like her, combined with the fact she could barely handle the weapons due to being too weak. Again and again, she'd try something different, while her body slowly started to destroy itself from the inside, failing at everything she did and getting to the point she couldn't even walk by herself. When she finally reached the age of seventeen, she was brought back into the hospital, with a near guarantee of death. Her chakra had ruined her body, from that ever corrupting blood, and she could barely even keep her eyes open, or her heart beating. All hope seemed lost...until a suggestion was brought up to her parents, in the nick of time.
The Aburame Clan approached this unfortunate family of Sarutobi, very aware of what they were about to ask being the end all, be all of their own plans. Though they are not inherently evil, nor even bad people, in the end, they were wanting something out of saying they could save their daughter's life. As a last resort, they figured that, since their Kikaichu - a unique insect cultivated by the Aburame, known for feeding off chakra- can feed off of the chakra of their host, that if they were implanted into the young girl, they could stave off her own chakra, and support her body; thus preventing the disease from causing her demise. In exchange, she would be completely adopted into the Aburame Clan, not allowed to interact with her original family anymore, wiped of her Sarutobi name, and become the guinea pig of the Aburame themselves. From desperation, out of seeing their daughter in such pain, and not wanting her to die when she had so much to live for, there was no choice in their minds but for them to agree. As heartbreaking as it would be, for her to never be with his parents again, this was her only shot. If they didn't try, she'd be dead in a week anyway. So, with the contract sealed, the Aburame went to work, offering her dying body up to a small nest of Kikaichu. For a few days, it was unsure whether it succeeded...but when the last day of the determined week arrived, she was still alive. Her body slowly began to grow, and heal itself from the lasting damage her blood and chakra caused. But she was obviously, not the same; it had only barely saved her from death, and her heart barely beat anymore. She was now consistently at the edge of death, yet functioning, from sheer willpower, her chakra, and the Kikaichu. The bugs were a part of her now, even more so than a regular Aburame, but it still came with consequences.
From then on, though she was under a foster family that cared for her like she was their daughter, in the end, nothing was the same. Being too physically impaired to really give their services to that of being a Shinobi, Blades instead focused on the other skills she developed during her time in hospitalization; crafting. Maybe she wouldn't become a strong, proud kunoichi, but she could supply the masses with not only the bare necessities, but create medicines and tonics to cure the sick, create plans for buildings, and forge weapons of legendary status. It was better than giving up on life because she couldn't play ninja. Though she was still a novice at the time, through time and dedication, by the age of eighteen, the young woman has established a small shop in Konohagakure, that goes by the name 'The Crafting Gardens'. This comes from the fact she doesn't limit herself to a single profession in terms of creating commodities, though most will come here for her weapons and herbal remedies, the latter of which is supplied by a very small, self sufficient greenhouse. As for her conditioning, with the combined efforts of physical therapy and the effects of various herbs, tonics, creams, washes and medicines, though her body was still not completely normal, she has managed to keep herself looking sufficiently beautiful for a woman her age, albeit with her skin still being a little grey.
Personality: To fully understand Blades, one must know how the contributing factor of their life affects her; that being her unfortunate defect from birth, the disease known as 'Ueta Chi', or 'Starving Blood.' Through the support from her family, and despite most of the time this disease was killing her, she always had a good work ethic, wanting to do as much as she can to pursue her dreams. She loves to improve herself, and though she was eventually kept from doing so due to her body drastically deteriorating, she trained herself to try and get physically more athletic, so she could keep up with everyone else. This obviously failed. Though her eventual, forcible entry into the Aburame Clan, combined with her near death experience, has caused her to stray away from long lasting relationships, due to not trusting others as much and being pushed around, she still tries to be kindhearted and generous, helping those in need whenever possible. This can sometime lead to misunderstanding, depending on the circumstances, and also brings to light her more dense nature, sometimes not really getting what's truly going on and skipping over the finer details. Short-term relationships tend to keep her going, even if deep down, that is not all she wants, but she can't trust herself to be able to put anyone through their issues, and figures they are better off not worrying about her in case, one day, she succumbs to his defect. When those walls are finally broken down, however, is when they can see a portion of the true her; a sad, pathetic weakling who just wanted to be a great Shinobi, like everyone else, and be able to be an asset to her village, despite the corruptible influence of her own foster clan, and the abuse and tests they put her through on a day to day basis. In the end, this all stems from her own Will of Fire; though by name and by ability she will be considered an Aburame, in the end, she is a Sarutobi. No matter what Blades goes through, her indomitable will is what truly keeps him from kicking the bucket and giving up to the horrors of life.

- 'The Trial of Fates':
- It was bitterly cold in Hyogakure’s tundra forests this day, inches upon inches of snow blanketing the ground and dusting the prickly leaves of the evergreen trees, although there was no snowfall as of current. The area itself was not all that dangerous on the outside, the large brown trunks of the pine making the bulk of the scenery, with occasional, tiny shrubs, and winter-capable berry bushes dotted around. Some said that deeper inside, however, lay a treacherous terrain never before seen in all of the land, so despicable in its cruel painting of mother nature that none have survived entering its bowels since the beginning of time. This place also held monsters, poisonous swamps, rabid ninja from a time long passed, and even cursed weapons.
Yet the Hayai-ashi are sending a twelve year old in as their initiation trial.
Raised by the remaining elders of her broken, forsaken clan, Kuro Zenchō, nearing her graduation at the Hyogakure Academy, was tasked with entering the deep depths of the tundra in order to grab a special flower that grows in their type of climate, located directly in the dead center of the woods, known as the Viola. They only bloom in such conditions, so its valued not only for being a beautiful addition to the drab, white landscape, but for its insane endurance as well, said to resist rainfall and snowfall alike during its lifespan. Kuro’s parents and clan mates have built up this place to be terrible and wicked her entire life, so she’s forever dreaded the day she’d be sent here, to either be made into a woman, or to die by the hands of fate, as so many others have before her. Yet she did not cower away from her duty, wishing to prove to herself, and everyone around her, that she was a true kunoichi, through and through. If she had to face death, then she welcomed it with talons bared.
As the young girl stepped her way through the wilderness, making it deeper and deeper with each hesitant, feathered step, only a kunai in her chilled, shaking hand, she wondered genuinely if she was ready for something like this. She was decently built for a kid her age, as tall as five foot two and sporting a toned frame with her pale skin and sharp, focused yellow eyes, but the fact she was told no one has ever survived this meant that even superiors in her clan have fallen to the beast. Why did they think she could do it? Maybe they just sent her here to die. After all, she was always considered an omen, the three-pronged raven claw birthmark on her right cheek indicating as such. Her birth foretold the tragic end of their proud family, and she was plagued with visions back to that day, so detailed in fact it came from different people’s point of views. It would make sense to get rid of her now, after raising her to believe she could still be something great. But she’d show them.
Then she saw it. A plain, dark oakwood sign erect at the edge of the heart, clearly labeling, “Dangerous Road Ahead.” This was it. The relative safety of Mother Nature was now to be replaced by the malice of her painful hatred, her true colors under the tyranny of man. Frightened, she stood still, as frozen as the icicles that hung aloof from the green pines, her entire body shuddering at the very idea of being gone forever once she stepped forward. Darkness crept from every corner of the depths’ being, to the point she could almost hear the laughs and cries of the souls trapped within, her vision fading in and out, the snarls of incredible creatures ready for new meat to tear into, and the intricate sounds of chakra being molded by the crafty hands of Shinobi embraced by insanity. She could not waver, though. She was so close, and despite her wild fears, she could not let this emotion swallow her whole. That was not a feeling she was allowed the luxury of, if she wished to truly be a kunoichi that upheld the values of her clan. So, closing her eyes, and taking in one last, deep breath, the moment she exhales, she makes a dash into the entrance of these accursed woods, kunai in hand as she boldly faces her greatest - and likely last - challenge.
Kuro would hide behind the nearest tree trunk once she heard the howl of a husky wolf in the distance, the flat of her free palm resting on the rough bark and her posture straight against the wood, her breathing slowed down as to not attract it. The atmosphere was thick and heavy, the light of the sun barely shining through the density of the massive plants that blocked it, leaving only darkness to corrupt the world around her. It felt like she had already been here for hours, her clothes tattered and her skin and face covered in scratches and bruises, so the last thing she needed was to be mauled to death by the wildlife. Lucky for her, she covered herself in a thin layer of mud earlier, the wet, caked dirt masking her human scent with that of the ground, but her sweat was peeling away at her disguise slowly, so she had no idea how long she had before anything caught her scent and targeted onto her anxiety and paranoia. When she thought it was clear, she scanned her peripheral vision, and looked around the trunk, before running forwards once more, her footsteps light and with little noise so long as she avoided stepping on leaves or pinecones.
More hours passed, and she was at the point of wanting to scream, the frontal leather breastplate she wore cut completely in half from the hulking, massive beast tailing her, an amalgamation of shadows that took the shape of a wildebeest mixed with an owl, with piercing red eyes. A pack of wolves she encountered earlier kept to her left, wishing to feast on her as well, and a Shinobi made of shadow running at her from the right with a katana in hand, combined with the owl beast, had her at the ropes, her feet beginning to grow tired and her body sore and bleeding, the only thing keeping her blood in being the tightness of her clothes. Laughter filled the air, mocking her failings in her trial, insinuating that she would fail, that she was not worthy of her life. Stubbornness and a will to live kept her going, though, at this point the focal point of her vision lying directly on the field of Viola and Yellow Primrose, her mission. If she could just get to them...maybe...maybe she could stand a chance. She could escape after she grabs the viola, right? Did she have the energy? Would they catch up?
Struggling to breathe, the air in her lungs struggling to oxidize her bloodstream and going sore from overuse, her legs burning in a desperate need for rest and hydration, and no longer being able to hold onto her kunai, having long since dropped it, she ran the last few feet towards the field of flowers, and with a leap, she strained to grasp at the green stem of a Viola, ripping it from the seam. At that moment, the beasts were upon her, and she knew she was about to die, but it didn’t matter, as she believed she made it farther than anyone else had. This was the end, but she’d die completing her duty. So she closed her eyes, and...opened them again, to realize something was off, after the sharp cry of a raven bird shook her from her trance. Her body was only scratched slightly, her clothes fine, no longer injured and bruised. Only a breathtaking field of winter flowers filled her field of vision, with the sun shining brightly upon them and her, the gentle chirping of other birds silenced by the raven that perched on a tree nearby. She slowly sat up, shivering, eyes watering with tears, as she realized that everything she just went through was false. There was no darkness. There were no bloodthirsty wildlife, or criminally insane Shinobi, or a swamp, or fire, or nothing. It was just regular wilderness, with the flowers being the only interesting part.
Only then did she realize that it was all in her head. It was made up.
Kuro was alive, and had the gentle plant in her quaking palms. At the prospect of being alive, just this once, she gave herself a moment to sob. In the end, she was human, like all Shinobi, so even if she was meant to be the tool of her Lords, she still had emotions. She was grateful to be alive, thanking those above for not striking her down where she thought she would, her warm and salty tears staining her cheeks red. Maybe she wasn’t as hated as she thought, only pushed as hard as everyone else, this being another test. It was harrowing, but as she stared into the eyes of the strong raven overhead, knowing she was a little girl no more, she promised herself she would speak of this day nevermore.
