Konami and Toonami had traveled all the way from the Land of Fire to their birthplace outside of Sunagakure. They had left this small town as orphans, practically chased from their hometown by hateful and suspicious people. Toonami's antics didn't help but in truth, it was bound to happen eventually. Oddly enough, many people in this town were not ninja and thus did not really know who the current or past Mizukage was. The political upheaval in the Wind Country and collapse of Sunagakure had created more problems than the people knew what to do with. They didn't have time to retain extraneous information in their brains. The identity of two particularly rambunctious military leaders and their relation to the pair of twins that hadn't lived there in decades could be considered "extraneous information".
Toonami and Konami were holed up inside a shifty motel. It was a significant step-down from their living quarters back in Tanzaku Town, which was quite luxurious in comparison but if served for the time being. As was customary, Konami was at her desk reading vociferously, trying to come up with some semblance of a plan whilst Toon was accumulating knowledge and wisdom from the universe by way of biochemical exploration. This is to say she was getting high to come up with ideas. The two had disguised themselves throughout the journey. It was possible Konoha didn't want them leaving, especially after it was now known that Akeno had gone rogue.
