    Clan: Yoru

Bloodline: Draconic Awakening (500 EXP) / Draconic Aura
    Element(s): Fire (Ancestral Element)
    Skill(s): Kenjutsu

    • Strength: E
    • Constitution: E
    • Stamina: C
    • Speed: D
    • Coordination: D
    • Intelligence: D
    • Perception: E

    Unique Abilities:

    Legionnaire Training (Experience Advantage)
The intense training that Lamina has been through as part of her draconic legion’s training has resulted in her being ahead of the curve initially, however, the difficulty of learning that which is not a part of the Legion’s training has resulted in a hurdle that she must pass in order to train herself any further.
    (350 EXP Debt)

To Forsake One’s Claim (Chakra Point Spending)
Forsaking the training of her ancestral element in favor of the sword has given Lamina the ability to utilize her blade more efficiently than most, however, as a result, she has made utilizing her own natural element more difficult.

Costs for Kenjutsu techniques are lowered by one rank, however, costs for all Fire Techniques are raised by one rank.

The Unsteady Rage Of a Dragon (Stat Advantage)
Her draconic heritage has lent itself to granting Lamina a sizable increase in her raw physical power when utilizing her favored method of combat, however, when doing so she also is unable to think as clearly of her placement of both her hands and feet in relation to her techniques which often results in her placing herself in precarious situations without knowing.

This manifests as an increase of a double plus (++) to Strength when using Kenjutsu but a double minus (--) to coordination. These are both on top of any other buffs or debuffs.

    History:
Lamina was born three generations after the great “Battle Of Dragon’s Tooth” that called an end to the open warring between the loyalist and defector Yoru. Her great-grandfather being a loyalist Yoru known by the name “Rex Nyx” which, over time, would become the “Night” family name that Lamina has inherited and carried with her to this day. It is due to her loyalist roots that Lamina was taught from a very early age of the importance of following the wishes of the now long dead draconic masters, she was raised to give thanks and offerings each day at a draconic alter dedicated to the great ancient dragon who was believed to be the father of her line: Bahamut.

It was Bahamut, or at least his name and what she was taught that he stood for, that inspired Lamina to take up an interest in Kenjutsu from a very early age and neglect her elemental training in favor of rigorous physical exercise and practice that was straining on her weakened body but would, over time, lend itself to improving her overall physical capability and allowing her a view on combat that not many other Yoru could claim they had possessed at the time.

Lamina found herself fond of the idea of combat that was centered around the use of raw physical ability and one’s innate power rather than relying on Chakra and Ninjutsu based techniques that she believed were extremely powerful yet were also extremely dangerous if possessed by the wrong individuals who had more than the service of their people on their minds. It was through this process of thinking that Lamina would eventually find herself infatuated with the idea of creating an organization that would do battle utilizing, not Ninjutsu or its related arts, but one’s own raw strength and ability as its main method of conflict. The reason for this was simple, those who were taught to fight without the need for Chakra and were made to be capable enough to do battle with those who did would mean that in the event they were to utilize such abilities, they would already have a sizable advantage in raw talent and ability over those who had not trained their physical bodies.

The second part of her reasoning was thus: Through training those under her command to do battle as her Loyalist brethren had done so many generations ago, they may once again be able to invoke the power of the ancient Dragons who had originally blessed them and, with such ancient beasts behind them – it was clear that nothing would be able to stand in their way.

She envisioned a great Legion under the banner of her ancient dragon masters who would take the world beneath their wings and show them the true meaning of power, to teach those under them how to properly control the innate power within them and to ensure that those who used such great powers as Ninjutsu were to be contained and controlled so that none shall fall to the same fate as her ancient brethren by way of seduction from the powers of Chakra or be harmed by what she saw as a great unstable Magic – This would be her chance to remove it from the world and replace it once more with faith in her ancient draconic masters.

She had trained for some time, her vision of a perfect world free of these destructive forces and those who would harm others for the sake of power still fresh in her mind. Yet she knew that, due to her Sickness, it would take many years before she came even close to the ability she needed in order to raise her Legion and begin her crusade along the Nations and then the World.

It was during one cold night during her training in the mountains of Kumogakure that Lamina found herself being confronted by a member of the group that she had been training alongside for the past several years, her own younger brother who went by the name of Brutus. They had met atop the Dragon’s Tooth battle site for what he claimed was an ordinary training session, but throughout the fight, it was made clear by his movements and the ferocity with which he fought that he intended to kill Lamina outright – though the two were evenly matched as they had trained together for such a long period of time and the two were descended from the same Ancestor, making their abilities a mirror of one another’s.

The battle lasted for some time, the night sky lighting up with stars as Lamina did her best to survive against the onslaught, however, a slight misstep caused her to receive a small wound on her side which she would begin to heal from while seeming confident that she could return from such a small wound. The moment of surprise on the face of Brutus, Lamina assumed, was from the fact she had recovered so quickly – the sickening sound of metal tearing along with flesh made her realize, too late, that he had been looking behind her rather than at her directly.

Looking downward, Lamina saw a blade pierced through her own chest which caused her to fall as she heard Brutus shouting with shock and anger toward another individual who she recognized by their voice alone. The voice belonged to an older sister of her own, Naevia, who had made it clear she long ago that she did not care for Lamina and would have likely slain her long ago if she could have done so without repercussion.

As her vision faded, Lamina made a final prayer toward her Ancestors which promised that, if she were to survive this, she would dedicate her life to eradicating her traitorous siblings and also ensuring that her Legion would become reality, crushing anyone who opposed them if they would only allow her to live.

She awoke with a gasp for breath sometime later, finding herself having been healed of all but the damage to her clothing and armor and laid beneath the shrine to her Ancestors that was placed at the foot of the mountain. Although she could never say so without any doubt, Lamina always thought of that day as divine providence that had given her another chance at life in exchange for her promise – one that she intended to fulfill to the letter, no matter the cost to herself.

She found herself considerably weakened, yet her training intact – likely a result of her near-death experience and possible resurrection, if such truly had occurred. Her Legion had disbanded for the most part from either fear or treachery, Lamina vowing to kill those that had abandoned her cause once her strength had been restored to her.

Lamina has, since then, entered the village of Kumogakure voluntarily as a member of its Shinobi and has managed to obtain a position as a Genin which she has so far held and maintained to the current day with the hopes that she will be able to hone her abilities while serving alongside the village so that one day she will raise the flag of her Legion once more and hunt down the traitors who had almost taken her life years ago.

    Personality:
Lamina’s mood differs depending on several factors, the most important being whether or not she is currently traveling with her Legion or if she is alone. When she is traveling alongside the Legion, or with others that she considers professional allies rather than personal ones, she is often direct and to the point, often taking any words or actions in a much more severe manner than she would if she were by herself or acting on her own accord.

During a conflict or tense situation, Lamina will do her best to remain stoic and unaffected by the words of the other participant, even if it means accepting insults or having her reputation brought into the matter. Her weakness in this regard, however, is when details regarding her fellow Yoru are called into question or when her own personal honor is placed under scrutiny, as although she is able to accept being called a monster or less-than-human, she cannot accept being called a dishonorable warrior and will often risk placing herself in needless danger if it means that her honor can be proven or restored.

Another quirk about Lamina’s personality as a result of her draconic heritage is that not only is she obsessed with the idea of honor and quick to challenge one who dares besmirch such, she also has a habit of losing herself in battle and will often be unable to process thoughts in the same way that she does during a verbal confrontation or when dealing with situations that are not life and death in nature. In these life or death moments, Lamina’s thoughts and words often become more feral in nature with her main focus being on destroying that which is placing her or her close allies in immediate danger even if doing so will – once again, place herself in greater danger.

As an instructor, or as a senior in any sort of respect, Lamina is strict but not as harsh as one may expect. She understands that mistakes occur both on and off of the battlefield and that not every beginner can become a master immediately, or perhaps ever. She does her best in these scenarios to carefully train her student or students thoroughly, guiding them along each step of the way and ensuring that they are able to grasp the concept she is presenting to them completely before continuing on to the next phase and continuing in this manner until the teaching is complete. Lamina believes firmly in not teaching her students anything that she could not replicate herself for the purposes of helping them train properly, leaving such duties to those who are more well-suited for them or who have been assigned specifically for the task of doing so.

Among those she is close with, or those with whom she is familiar outside of battle, Lamina becomes much more soft-spoken in gentle in her mannerisms than typical – however, she does still retain a general stoic attitude in all but the most intimate of situations. She tends to refer to those she is close or familiar with by their first names rather than their last names or ranks, going so far as to call them by nicknames or titles if one is known to her for the sake of making it as clear as possible that herself during battle or campaigning is completely separate from herself during peacetime or when away from battle. She treats these people in a much more gentle manner than she would on the front lines and instructs them, usually, to refer to her however they see fit rather than by her title or rank.
